A tag has been placed on Meisner Technique School of Acting requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Accounting4Taste:talk 16:42, 4 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your note, and I sympathize if you've found your initial Wikipedia experience to be somewhat daunting. Essentially, the article in question was deleted because it did not have an assertion of notability -- that is, the organization was not stated to be better, better-known, more important, etc., than other similar organizations -- and those assertions of notability were not backed up with any references -- third-party arm's-length expert sources that state why the organization is notable in a verifiable way. No one is quarreling with the fact of the existence of the organization, or its "legitimacy" -- what is in question is its notability, because the subjects of Wikipedia articles must meet our notability guidelines. If you believe that you can indeed demonstrate that notability in a verifiable way, I'd be prepared to retrieve the deleted material for you in a "sandbox" page so that you could add the references without worrying about whether the article will be immediately deleted. (Wikipedia articles are essentially considered to be complete when posted, and to contain all necessary references, etc., that would be required -- new articles receive intense and immediate scrutiny to see if they meet our guidelines.) You may find the material and links above to be useful -- similarly, you may want to read WP:Your first article and WP:Why was my article deleted? for helpful comments. If you have any questions, or want the deleted material put into a sandbox page, just let me know. Accounting4Taste:talk 17:58, 4 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, Jmjrrtt. I didn't read your message at first because you put it at the top of my talk page. Normally people put new messages at the bottom around here. Anyway, Accounting4Taste has pretty much outlined why I deleted the page. But he put the text in a 'sandbox' for you to work on it. If you can get it to a point where it belongs in the encyclopedia, I'm sure we'll want to include it. - Richard Cavell (talk) 05:48, 24 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of The meisner technique school of acting[edit]

I have nominated The meisner technique school of acting, an article you created, for deletion. I do not feel that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/The meisner technique school of acting. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Carbonrodney (talk) 06:08, 17 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sure you are a very reputable teacher. And as far as I know your acting classes are excellent, but the school is not notable enough for Wikipedia (see Wikipedia:NOTABLE). But, if you want, you can skip that policy altogether... ask yourself: does what I am writing about belong in an encyclopedia?
