My First Article - A Retrospective[edit]

After writing two articles about a famous Aikido teacher and his organisation, despite maintaining a NPOV and including one reliable secondary source and one reliable tertiary source per article, they were flagged unceremoniously for Speedy Deletion by ttonyb. Two other editors then did away with the 2 articles in a short time. The disappointment really came from the lack of feedback after I followed up with the editors concerned! One claimed that I had only referenced "Youtube", and the others did not reply at all (despite posting to other people on their talk page). Grrrr!

Finally, the one who did reply initially tersely saying it was referenced to Youtube (this was not true) gave me feedback that a tertiary source like the Encylcopedia of Aikido was not a good source by Wikipedia standards. This was helpful!

So now I am researching/trawling for more journal articles to establish [[wikipedia:NOTABILITY] requirements for both articles. Live and learn! Wikipedia Editors love DELETING you for edit points, but they earn no points for helping you out afterward! Considering the hundreds of pages added daily that are brazenly inappropriate, you'd think they would actually respond to someone who writes them a few times (well one person did respond, so my faith in humanity is restored!)

THE END (for now)!
