More on div tag

- Hello @Medara Bassey:, welcome to my talkpage. It is good to see that you are interested in creating templates. But before I start, I want you to see this first. Actually templates help us to create infinite copy of something. It is easy to create a template. <div> </div> are used in the starting and at the end of any template to divide the template from mixing with other contents in a page. There are many tags used in creating a template. Do you know about userboxes? you can see them here. But for now I will tell you about color codes and tags used to change color of a text. We generally use <font></font> to change colour, design of text etc. Here we will see how color code works. Let we take this words- "Hello world". and we chose to take color- Orange. Now if we type this: <font color="Orange"> Hello world</font> it will show: Hello world. You can see the color of the text is changed. You can try this here. To change the color use this format: <font color="input color name">Your text</font>. Some basic color codes can be found here. - Okay now to change the background color or style we generally use <div></div> tags. Let me show you an example: <div style="padding: 8px; background: #CC6633; border: 2px solid #666666;"></div> In the example <div style=""> is the opening and </div> is the end. Now you can change the color by changing the color code (You can also use color names ex-Orange) given after "background". Here, padding means the format you want to use or the size. And border means the border of the background Let me show you an example how it works. We chose the color: Orange. And some words-"Hello world" it will show.
I have used this format: <div style="padding: 8px; background: Orange; border: 2px solid #666666;">Your text</div>.

Recent software changes
- The latest version of MediaWiki (1.23wmf21) was scheduled to be deployed to test wikis and MediaWiki.org on April 3, however it was temporarily put on hold due to localization issues. (calendar).
- Typography Refresh was enabled on non-Wikipedia wikis on April 1, and on all Wikipedias on April 3. You'll only see it if you use the Vector skin.
- CirrusSearch was enabled as the primary search method on over 400 non-Wikipedia wikis on April 2. [1]
Future software changes
- A new special page (Special:TrackingCategories) will soon list all the tracking categories on a wiki. [2] [3]
- All Wikiquote projects will start using language links from Wikidata on April 8. [4]
- The Hovercards feature will soon work with right-to-left languages. [5] [6]
- You will soon be able to download files directly from MediaViewer, the new multimedia tool. [7]

Hi Jim, apologies for the delay replying to your request for rollback. I have turned it on for you, but please be sure that you read and understand the rollback guideline, Wikipedia:Rollback. In reviewing your edits, I noticed a couple of times you reverted edits which I felt were not obvious vandalism and really could have done with an explanatory edit summary. The rollback tool should not be used to revert good faith edits (even if they are unhelpful) since the edit summary is automatically generated. Remember that any administrator can revoke this right at any time if they think you are misusing it. Cheers, Sarah 11:22, 10 April 2014 (UTC)
- Okay @Sarah:, generally I don't like to revert changes. I leave it to others. But when I find something that needs change at that time I revert. Actually I use WP:Popups to revert. And the problem with popup is that we cannot change the default edit summary instead it automatically save the page. That is why I cannot explain why I reverted the changes. - Understood. Rollback is similar to the popups tool in that the edit summary is automatic and you don't have the option of entering your own. If the edit really should have an edit summary then you should use undo or manual editing so you can enter a summary, rather than popups, rollback or other tools which generate an automatic summary. Anyway, I thought your edits basically looked good; it wasn't a major problem or I wouldn't have given you the tool. It was just a couple of reversions I noticed and I had to point that out to you as part of reviewing your request. :) Sarah 15:40, 10 April 2014 (UTC)
- (talk page stalker)} One other caution about Rollback: When you click it, the revert happens, immediately; there isn't a "confirmation" step where you can cancel it if you make a mistake or change your mind. I used to have Rollback rights, but I asked that they be removed, because I found Rollback to be a problem when I was viewing Wikipedia via cell phone. The "rollback" button is right there on the history page, where you can easily touch it by mistake while trying to hit some other button. Touch it and wham! somebody's edit gets rolled back. On a cell phone, the combination of big fingers and small buttons means this can easily happen by accident. In my case, after I had to apologize for and reverse some accidental rollbacks, I decided to have it disabled. I'd rather use "undo" where you have a chance to change your mind, and where you can customize your edit summary. --MelanieN (talk) 20:35, 10 April 2014 (UTC)

Rambling Man(Uhh I'm sorry it was The Rambling Man) on his own talk page. Fortunately the rollback won't work because of my connection problem if it would have worked then I'm sure that my rollback rights would have gone untill now. Anyway, thank you MelanieN and Philg88 for sharing your experience, I will take more care when browsing through my cell phone (It is different if my Samsung S4 starts betraying me). Backlog drive
Hello Jim Cartar,
WikiProject Orphanage is holding a month long Backlog Elimination Drive to de-orphan articles which have orphan tags!
The goal is to eliminate the backlog of orphan articles. There are currently 58350 articles which have orphan tags. The drive is running from April 12, 2014 to May 12, 2014.
Awards will be given out for all editors participating in the drive in the form of barnstars at the end of the drive. To add your name in the participants list click here.

Recent software changes
- The latest version of MediaWiki (1.23wmf22) was added to test wikis and MediaWiki.org on April 10. It will be added to non-Wikipedia wikis on April 15, and all Wikipedias on April 17 (calendar).
- MediaViewer was enabled for all users on MediaWiki.org on April 10. It will be enabled for all users on the Catalan (ca), Hungarian (hu) and Korean (ko) Wikipedias and English Wikivoyage on April 17. Comments are welcome. [9] [10] [11]
- Font issues caused by Typography refresh for Windows users were fixed on April 7. [12] [13]
VisualEditor news
- You will now see only three options when you try to add a template parameter in VisualEditor; you will see other options after a click. [14]
- The size changing controls in VisualEditor media editing dialog were simplified further.
- The wikitext editor tab will now fold into a drop-down menu in the Vector skin if there is not enough space on your screen. [15] [16]
Future software changes
- The font used for body text on Wikimedia wikis will change to your system default sans-serif font. This temporary change will be enabled on all non-Wikipedia wikis on April 15, and on all Wikipedias on April 17. [17] [18]
- Files from Commons seen on another wiki will soon have a tab saying "View on Wikimedia Commons". The create tab will change to "Add local description" (see screenshot). [19]
- You will soon be able to hide Notification and Hovercards pop-ups by pressing the Esc key. [20] [21] [22] [23]
- Shorter lists of language links will soon work in right-to-left languages. Languages that you have used before will be shown in the list. [24]
- You will soon be able to send messages with the MassMessage tool to all pages in a given category. [25] [26]
- The date format user preference will soon be moved to the appearance tab. [27] [28]
- An IRC discussion with the Wikimedia Foundation Multimedia team will take place on April 16 at 18:00 UTC on the channel #wikimedia-office on Freenode (time conversion). [29]

- Wikimedia Foundation servers were updated after a security bug called Heartbleed was discovered last week. You should change your password as an extra precaution. [30]
