While objective prose about beliefs, organisations, people, products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not a vehicle for soapboxing, advertising or promotion. Wikipedia can't be used as a source in Wikipedia articles[edit]

Hi Jesbd....shdjx, thanks for adding sources to Haider Ali Kohari. I just wanted to let you know that one of the sources, the book Maratha Generals and Personalities, can't be used as a reference, since it is just a collection of texts copied from Wikipedia. (It even says so on the front page of the book). Wikipedia articles can never be used as sources in other Wikipedia articles, and the same thing applies to books or websites that copy Wikipedia articles.

Another important thing to keep in mind is that a URL to Google Books is not enough as a reference. You can see how I added some information to the reference you had added to the article. Somebody who reads a Wikipedia article should be told what the source is, and a bare URL is not going to tell them that; what is needed is information about the title of the publication, the author, the year, and the exact page where the information is found (if the source is a book). Since the reference has a ISBN, there is no need to link to Google Books at all, either. More information about how to cite sources here. Thank you so much for the corrections.Being a new editor I really appreciate it. Jesbd....shdjx (talk) 05:50, 24 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Yogesh Shirsat moved to draftspace[edit]

An article you recently created, Yogesh Shirsat, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Your draft article, Draft:Yogesh Shirsat[edit]

Hello, Jesbd....shdjx. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Yogesh Shirsat".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion.
