Hi @Jeraxmoira: I saw your message. If what I added is not allowed, no issues. I happen to come from that town and the things I added were things I know for sure - the notable people and a school. I don't readily have references for such. Azunna4u (talk) 18:47, 1 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Courtesy notice[edit]

Hey, I saw you G5'ed List of awards and nominations received by Rakul Preet Singh and then an edit conflict on my AfD nomination resulted in me overwriting your CSD tag with twinkle. I thought I'd let you know that you're welcome to add anything at the AfD here: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of awards and nominations received by Rakul Preet Singh but if you wanted to throw the tag back on the page, I'm not opposed to that either.

Ended up retagging myself. microbiologyMarcus (petri dish·growths) 21:33, 1 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi MicrobiologyMarcus. It's all good, no worries. I think it was only moved from draft but not created during the block so I guess G5 doesn't apply here. I'll drop a comment on the AfD, thanks <3 Jeraxmoira (talk) 21:40, 1 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Invitation[edit]

Hello Jeraxmoira, we need experienced volunteers.
  • New Page Patrol is currently struggling to keep up with the influx of new articles. We could use a few extra hands on deck if you think you can help.
  • Reviewing/patrolling a page doesn't take much time but it requires a good understanding of Wikipedia policies and guidelines; Wikipedia needs experienced users to perform this task and there are precious few with the appropriate skills. Even a couple reviews a day can make a huge difference.
  • Kindly read the tutorial before making your decision (if it looks daunting, don't worry, it basically boils down to checking CSD, notability, and title). If this looks like something that you can do, please consider joining us.
  • If you would like to join the project and help out, please see the granting conditions. You can apply for the user-right HERE.
  • If you have questions, please feel free to drop a message at the reviewer's discussion board.
  • Cheers, and hope to see you around.

New page reviewer granted[edit]

Hi Jeraxmoira. Your account has been added to the "New page reviewers" user group. Please check back at the permissions page in case your user right is time-limited or probationary. This user group allows you to review new pages through the Curation system and mark them as patrolled, tag them for maintenance issues, or nominate them for deletion. The list of articles awaiting review is located at the New Pages Feed. New page reviewing is vital to maintaining the integrity of the encyclopedia. If you have not already done so, you must read the tutorial at New Pages Review, the linked guides and essays, and fully understand the deletion policy. If you need any help or want to discuss the process, you are welcome to use the new page reviewer talk page or ask via the NPP Discord. In addition, please remember:

  • Be nice to new editors. They are usually not aware that they are doing anything wrong. Do make use of the message feature when tagging pages for maintenance so that they are aware.
  • You will frequently be asked by users to explain why their page is being deleted. Please be formal and polite in your approach to them – even if they are not.
  • If you are not sure what to do with a page, don't review it – just leave it for another reviewer.
  • Accuracy is more important than speed. Take your time to patrol each page, including checking for copyright violations using Earwig's copyright violation detector, checking for duplicate articles, and evaluating sources (both in the article, and if needed, via a Google search) for compliance with the general notability guideline.
  • Please review some of our flowcharts (1, 2) to help ensure you don't forget any steps.
  • Use the message feature to communicate with article creators and offer advice as much as possible.

The reviewer right does not change your status or how you can edit articles. If you no longer want this user right, you also may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. In cases of abuse or persistent inaccuracy of reviewing, or long-term inactivity, the right may be withdrawn at administrator discretion. If you can read any languages other than English, please add yourself to the list of new page reviewers with language proficiencies. signed, Rosguill talk 04:09, 19 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Jeraxmoira,
I'm pinging Rosguill because I'm concerned that you have this user right. You just took a stub article, blanked the page and tagged it as a CSD G7, which it was not, was a completely inappropriate tagging. I don't think you fully understand the criteria for speedy deletion. Liz Read! Talk! 05:39, 20 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
And in the discussion below this one, I see another admin removed a tag you placed on an article. Liz Read! Talk! 05:41, 20 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Not exactly sure if this is about Blossom Maduafokwa. The revdel was completed by an admin on this. Jeraxmoira (talk) 06:08, 20 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hey Liz. The stub article created by the same editor was already declined at Draft:Chandler Redmond 3 days back and it only has a single database entry. I couldn't move it since it already exists as a draft, and I didn't want to leave a redirect, so I chose to G7 it. I opted for a G7 deletion because when I moved Mark Maasen previously, it was deleted under G7. Could you please let me know which criteria accurately applies here? Jeraxmoira (talk) 06:05, 20 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
G7 is not appropriate here, that's for self-requested deletion of an article you created. It also arguably wasn't appropriate for the move cleanup of Mark Maasen--G6 would have been more appropriate here. In the case of Chandler Redmond, unless you specifically suspect undisclosed COI/UPE editing, you should not insist that an editor (even a new editor) use AfC and should instead proceed to AfD if the subject does not meet notability guidelines. signed, Rosguill talk 15:03, 20 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

For Help[edit]

Salute to you, elder brother, on the page created by me, Ruhaan Rajput, Mr. CNMall41 had put a quick deletion on it, which you had deleted by saying that it was wrong. Now again they have deleted the page edited by me. Please help me. Thank you TechsonNet (talk) 10:36, 26 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I need advice[edit]

hi, I am reaching out because I have been practicing (as you know by now I guess) in an area where I am interested, which is film producers, Canadian ones and those who work between the states and Canada.

Can I ask for some advice on my Jeff Sackman page that I started last week ? I have priced my information from many articles that I referenced and used your advice to keep it neutral by deleting certain things.

Is there anyway you have time to review it for me and critique it? After removing what you suggested and rewording, there's a tag on there for "advert" and that is not my intention.

Before I start working on a new one, I want to get this right.

Thank you, happy new year. Any help would he appreciated.

Colinwhite613 (talk) 21:04, 30 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Colinwhite613. I would need some time to look at it again. For more information about articles reading like an advert, please see WP:SOAPBOX. Jeraxmoira (talk) 04:29, 31 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
i went through it and realized some angles of writing could easily look that way. I made changes. One was I wrote that subject when he was president of a co.psny grew the income exponentially... That was probably a mistake. I remove for. Rephrased it. I found another part too when I mention movies he was "known for" and realized they are just movies on his list of credits. Nothing more. Just facts.
I read several articles after I had messaged you to make sure things were more neutral and went over it again. So hopefully someone will review it again Colinwhite613 (talk) 04:47, 31 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

TamilNet[edit]

Regarding your removal of TamilNet citations from my article submission: TamilNet has been deemed a qualified source by admins here, and is allowed to be and has been used on Wikipedia, provided explicit attribution is given for controversial claims. However, the articles I cited are only quoting public statements reported elsewhere, and are not opinion pieces. --- Petextrodon (talk) 18:54, 17 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Petextrodon: Thank you for linking Wikipedia:WikiProject Sri Lanka Reconciliation/Sources. It clearly states that it should be used with attribution, but I don't see any attribution in the article. Are you going to add it now? Jeraxmoira🐉 (talk) 19:39, 17 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I will try to find better sources, but as you can see from the archived links I’ve used elsewhere in the article, many old articles have since become dead links and may not be publicly accessible via web search engines, though that doesn’t mean TamilNet was just making up stuffs when they were openly attributing statements to public figures. Other news sites have cited one of the quotes from TamilNet I used: https://www.oneindia.com/2006/04/15/slanka-army-says-foils-attack-violence-simmers-1145084856.html
I don't mind adding "according to pro-rebel TamilNet" before every sentence citing it, but I thought that would kill the flow of the article and would be unnecessary given that the quotes are already attributed to individuals/groups. --- Petextrodon (talk) 19:45, 17 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I've now added the explicit attributions. I'd appreciate it if you could also review my article for approval. Thanks, --- Petextrodon (talk) 20:08, 17 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Jeraxmoira. I've deleted the redirects Akaay Kohli and Vamika Kohli. I understand your worry that they may be repeatedly recreated as articles by the gossip brigade, so to prevent that, I have salted them against recreation. Hope that addresses your concerns. Bishonen | tålk 13:28, 21 February 2024 (UTC).[reply]

Bishonen: Yes, I believe salting is a better solution, thank you. Jeraxmoira🐉 (talk) 13:38, 21 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I have many questions to you[edit]

Dear Jeraxmoira, I've noticed your extensive experience as a Wikipedian and was wondering if it would be possible to communicate with you privately online. If this isn't permissible, I'm more than willing to ask my questions publicly. However, I would greatly appreciate it if you could provide an email address or another form of contact so that I can reach out to you directly. 2001:8A0:74E4:6401:BCDE:68E7:50C7:8167 (talk) 17:01, 22 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

It is permissible, but unless you are sharing private information, I don't see the need for emails. Either way, I do not know how to access the wiki email and have never explored it. May I ask what this is about? Jeraxmoira🐉 (talk) 17:51, 22 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Tagging pages for deletion[edit]

Hello, Jeraxmoira,

I realize that you are also an AFC reviewer and choose which draft articles to review but there is an unofficial guideline for page patrollers that states newly created articles shouldn't be tagged for deletion until at least an hour after a content creator has stopped editing unless there is egregious content like a copyright violation or BLP-violating content. I'm not sure how many articles you have created, but I'm sure you can empathize, especially with brand new editors who are just learning how to edit. If you have just offered a review of their draft, you might consider allowing them time to respond to your review of what they have written. Again, if there is unacceptable content, it should be tagged immediately. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 05:19, 1 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Liz. Thank you for letting me know. I thought we had to wait 10 minutes before placing CSD A tags on new articles from this NPP flowchart and the 60-minute guideline for WP:DRAFTIFY. Is this related to Lawrence Puliyanath or just in general? I believe it had 98% copyvio on Earwigs and I saw multiple warnings on their talk page, so I tagged it. I will try to be more considerate and assume good faith going forward. Cheers Jeraxmoira🐉 (talk) 06:03, 1 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Apology[edit]

I owe you an apology of what I have reacted at the AN. In future, I will work as an ordinary editor with no rights. I will get accustomed to the community and learn new things. ☮️Counter-Strike:Mention 269🕉️(🗨️✉️📔) 16:58, 17 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

FWIW, you don't owe me an apology or anything of that sort. Jeraxmoira🐉 (talk) 18:39, 20 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

For you[edit]

The Half Barnstar
This is my second barnstar given and I'll be honest, I got riled up at the AfD discussion at times. We certainly have opposed viewpoints, but whatever the outcome, this has been both an interesting and extensive discussion that has brought me closer to policies, guidelines, essays, even WikiProjects I was previously never aware of. A barnstar for you![edit]

The Defender of the Wiki Barnstar
Thank you for your diligence with all this recent sock/UPE mess and pushing back at WP:Articles for deletion/Justin Jin (entrepreneur). The GQ article especially was a great catch and helped me with my research. S0091 (talk) 17:57, 9 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, thank you S0091, I am glad I could help! If not for TLA's poor source assessment table, I would have never voted in that AfD. Jeraxmoira🐉 (talk) 10:51, 10 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thotakura Gopichand[edit]

Hi Jeraxmoira, Thanks for reviewing the article Thotakura Gopichand. I felt that it passes notability test as all mainstream newspapers and mediaoutlets in India have written about him and two of them had full interviews. All are reliable, secondary sources and I took about 10 reliable citations, though about 20 articles existed both in English and Telugu, all reputed newspapers. I am not sure, how you rated it. Anyway, I am writing this in good faith. thanksk and regards, Davidindia (talk) 13:18, 14 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Davidindia. Yes, but all of the sources were from April 2024 and related to a single event. I mentioned the reason for draftifying on your talk page as WP:BLP1E, but you must have missed it as it would have looked like a regular move notice. Here is a recent deletion discussion about the four astronaut candidates chosen for the Indian Human Spaceflight Programme, though the consensus on this has not weight here. If you have sources from other time periods pertaining to other events, please feel free to move it mainspace after adding them. I just got my visual/source editor fixed through the Teahouse IRC, so I couldn't leave you a personal note earlier regarding this. Cheers Jeraxmoira🐉 (talk) 13:39, 14 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
No Worries. Yes missed it and I got the point. thanks a lot and will let it be in the draft space until more news appears. Thanks for the clarification. Best Regards, Davidindia (talk) 13:44, 14 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
