Categorization[edit]

Please categorize the articles you create, like this [1]. Looks like you have been creating articles about temples in Tamil Nadu. If so, they should be added to "Hindu temples in Tamil Nadu". Paalappoo (talk) 08:23, 18 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for File:Fabrizia at the Youth olympic village, singapore.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Fabrizia at the Youth olympic village, singapore.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 16:06, 18 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

File copyright problem with File:Premchand Dogra .jpg[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Premchand Dogra .jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 21:37, 9 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

New articles on villages in Tamil Nadu[edit]

Hi Jenakarthik. Thank you for making some new small articles on places in Tamil Nadu. Please - if you make any more - add {{Pudukkottai-geo-stub}} to them, under the category links. This will alert other editors to the fact that they exist and can be expanded! Thanks, Grutness...wha? 23:37, 23 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks[edit]

Thanks for ur valuable advice, will do that immediately.--Jenakarthik (talk) 23:44, 23 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Infobox you are using[edit]

I noticed that you are creating a lot of pages with the template, {{Infobox Indian jurisdiction}}. That template is being deleted and all pages should use {{Infobox settlement}}. Ryan Vesey Review me! 02:19, 24 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Bot approval policy... please slow down and read[edit]

Please slow down on your rapid article creation. While I could point you to this, the more relevant policy at your current rate of speed is the bot policy. As I count it you've created 100 articles in the last 2 hours, easily falling within this policy. Please read it, and either expand these stubs you've created, or go to the BOT policy page and seek approval for your project. Thank you. Shadowjams (talk) 02:23, 24 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You seem to keep creating these pages without approval. I see you submitted and then withdrew your request. In any case, you've continued to create these pages and you haven't been granted approval. There's also a thread, mentioned below, regarding these additions.
I am uncertain of the notability of many of these creations, bot approval issues aside. Please follow those formal channels before you create any more articles. If this is not satisfactory the issue needs to be dealt with at WP:ANI. Shadowjams (talk) 04:17, 24 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Village bot[edit]

Hi Karthik, I appreciate your enthusiasm in creating articles for Indian villages. Can you slow down and discuss before you create any further? I have started a thread at the India noticeboard about this. Can you please participate in it? I find the reference, voiceofbharat.org not reliable for use here. Either way you will need a bot approval before you proceed. Ganeshk (talk) 04:12, 24 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

ANI notice[edit]

Hi Karthik, I just noticed you are continuing run the bot without getting the proper approval. Please stop creating more articles without discussion. I have raised this issue at the administrators noticeboard. Thank you. Ganeshk (talk) 16:00, 28 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It would be a good idea for you to read the bot policy, especially this section about mass page creation. Ganeshk (talk) 16:14, 28 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Dear Ganesh, i was just editing the District templates and i expanded them. There are some articles on revenue blocks and i added a few with that. it has nothing to do with my BOT request, which was for writing articles on villages. Plz check my contribution page once again.--Jenakarthik (talk) 02:32, 29 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Karthik,

en wiki is more procedure bound than ta wiki. Mass creation of articles usually creates this kind of situation. Right now the speed of your article creation has roused the suspicion that you are running a bot without pre approval. Please stop the article creation and respond back to Ganesh's concerns. I know you dont mean anything ill, but you need to reply either here or at the ANI page linked above. Please please stop the article creation and respond as soon as possible.--Sodabottle (talk) 19:00, 28 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks you for your words anna, i stopped them.--Jenakarthik (talk) 02:32, 29 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Re:reg my articles on TN villages[edit]

Hi Karthik, it would be nice if you could post a sample article on the India noticeboard and ask for comments from others. Since you are planning to create a large amount of articles, it will be difficult to go back and fix any issues. That will be my suggestion. Ganeshk (talk) 12:32, 6 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Sure ganesh, i will do that when i start to write. Thank you.--Jenakarthik (talk) 00:52, 7 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

New Tamil Nadu river articles[edit]

Hi Jenankarthik - good to see a few new articles on rivers in Tamil Nadu! Please, if you make any more short articles like these, can you add {{TamilNadu-geo-stub}} to the bottom of them? That way they'll go into a category so other editors of TN articles can easily find them. Thanks! Grutness...wha? 00:40, 11 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

There is already an article named Thalli block.-The EnforcerOffice of the secret service 10:05, 13 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry for the mistakes Ravi, please merge the two articles. --Jenakarthik (talk) 10:38, 13 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I found that you had created an article for Tuticorin block while there is already one named Thoothukudi block. Now, "Tuticorin" in an archaic, Anglicized spelling which we no longer use. The name is now "Thoothukudi" as you might observe in the case of Thoothukudi, Thoothukudi district, Thoothukudi taluk and Thoothukudi (Lok Sabha constituency). Please don't rely entirely on the spellings used in TN Maps site. Before creating an article, I would rather advise you to check whether the places are spelt in the same way in Wikipedia, too. Suppose, you wish to create an article on a revenue block which is spelt in TN Maps as "XYZ" please check whether the town article in Wikipedia is also spelt "XYZ" before creating the article.-The EnforcerOffice of the secret service 03:30, 15 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Reg. your articles[edit]

I have come across some of the stubs you've created. Most of them appear to have been created in a hurry and require a great deal of copy-editing work. You have created so many articles in such a short time that I'd rather suggest that you also check articles for verifiability and notability and grammar when you create them. As you might notice, a particular editor has tagged some of your articles on municipal corporations, like Salem Municipal Corporation, Madurai Municipal Corporation, Coimbatore Municipal Corporation and Tirunelveli Municipal Corporation. While "be bold" is, indeed, one of Wikipedia's policies, we should, also spend some time understanding Wikipedia's policies before launching a flurry of articles.

By the way, I observed that you have replaced links to cities with the muncipal corporation of the city in templates like Template:Tiruchirapalli district, etc. Now, I was the one who added the group "Municipal corporation" as well as "municipalities". By "Municipal corporation", I imply the city not the administrative body. If at all, we are to create articles for MCorps and link them from district templates, to make it even, we should also do the same for municipalities but however, due to notability concerns, we cannot create articles for all the municipalities in TN. Also, adding administrative bodies to templates on districts might seem irrelevant; you might very well create a template on {{Template:Administration of Tamil Nadu}} or something like that and add the links there.-RaviMy Tea Kadai 03:55, 21 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your words ravi, Sure i will do that. And for your concern about creating articles in a short span, actually i type them on word and just copy paste them here. So it looks like more articles in a short time.

Category:Revenue Blocks of Tamil Nadu[edit]

The above mentioned category is found to have a wrong title. If 'Ooratchi ondriyam' (ஊராட்சி ஒன்றியம்) is translated to Tamil as revenue blocks then it's going to be an error. District -> Taluks -> Revenue Villages forms the hierarchy in revenue administration. But Blocks (Developmental blocks or unions) are the panchayat units in taluk level but no way related to revenue administration, they are local bodies functioning from a different ministry. And there are lot categories and stub pages with this term. Pl. clarify as you've contributed in this regard. --BabuOnWiki (talk) 16:30, 6 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, Vettar river. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – Vettar River. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Vettar River – you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.

If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. wiki tamil 100 15:34, 29 March 2016 (UTC)

Asian 10,000 Challenge invite[edit]

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. If you would like to see this happening for Asia, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Asia, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 04:54, 20 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on SACS MAVMM Engg College, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay.
