If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Please do not remove Articles for deletion notices from articles or remove other people's comments in Articles for deletion pages, as you did with G.W. Carver Middle School (Miami, Florida). Doing so won't stop the discussion from taking place. You are, however, welcome to comment about the proposed deletion on the appropriate page. Thank you. I UNDERSTAND WHERE YOU ARE COMING FROM, BUT IF YOU EVER GO TO THE LINCOLN CENTER IN TALLAHASSEE, FL AND GET THE INFORMATION FROM THE NEWSPAPER, YOU WILL UNDERSTAND WHERE I GET THAT FROM.

Please stop. If you continue to blank out or delete portions of page content, templates or other materials from Wikipedia, as you did to Miami Northwestern High School, you will be blocked from editing.  Drenaline  Talk  00:41, 25 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

THE REASON I DID THAT WAS BECAUSE SOMEONE VANDALIZED THE ENTIRE SHEET AND I KNEW THAT YOU ALL WOULD REPLACE THAT INFORMATION. SORRY.

This is your last warning. You will be blocked from editing the next time you vandalize a page, as you did with this edit to Hernando High School (Florida). Alansohn (talk) 20:01, 25 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I KNOW SOME PEOPLE THAT HAVE GONE TO HERNANDO HIGH SCHOOL DURING INTERGRATION AND I THOUGHT TO ADD THAT INFORMATION.

December 2009[edit]

I NEED SOME UNDERSTANDING ON HOW TO PUT FACTUAL INFORMATION ON HERE. FOR THE MIAMI NORTHWESTERN SITUATION, SOMEONE ALTERED THE WHOLE PAGE AND I DELETED EVERYTHING FOR A GOOD REASON BECAUSE I KNEW THAT YOU GUYS WOULD PLACE EVERYTHING BACK UP. AS FOR HERNANDO HIGH SCHOOL, I KNOW PEOPLE WHO WENT TO THAT HIGH SCHOOL (FIRST HAND INFORMATION) THAT GAVE TO ME THAT INFORMATION; SO I PUT IT UP SO THAT PEOPLE FROM NEWER GENERATIONS CAN READ IT. (Wiki e-mail sent by Jayebook to Tim Ross, 3 December 2009, and repeated here by Tim Ross)

You seem to have good intentions, Jayebook, but are obviously having difficulty in following Wikipedia guidelines and principles. I strongly encourage you to take a look at the six links for newcomers mentioned in the "Welcome" at the top of this page. You may find two principles to be especially important. Please do not remove encyclopedic content without giving a legitimate justification, and please provide reliable, published sources for the additions you make. This last point means that you should not add statements based just on your personal knowledge. I hope this is helpful. If you need more assistance, please contact me on my talk page. Tim Ross (talk) 17:06, 4 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

WHAT DO I DO WITH NEWSPAPER ARTICLES THAT WERE WRITTEN IN THE 1940s?? I can go to the place and get the names of the newspapers and articles. How will you all be able to Verify those articles if there only in that one room???

A full citation to a newspaper article (newspaper name, date, page, article title and (if given) author) is certainly adequate. It is helpful to indicate where such sources can be accessed - for example, a specific online archive - but that's not required. Tim Ross (talk) 01:14, 5 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I understand that Leon County Schools in the state of Florida has 2 schools named Lincoln High School, what am I to do to open up an account for the new Lincoln. The original Lincoln and the new Lincoln has nothing in common. I once was successful at opening another page for it, apparently it was deleted.

To the best of my knowledge, Jayebook, the first Lincoln school in Tallahassee (1876-1970), is now usually referred to as "Old Lincoln High School", to distinguish it from the current "Lincoln High School" (1975-present). I believe that when the first Lincoln opened, though, it was called "Lincoln Academy". Either "Old Lincoln High School (Tallahassee, Florida)" or "Lincoln Academy (Tallahassee, Florida)" would probably be a satisfactory article name. Tim Ross (talk) 10:26, 7 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Its called the Old Lincoln because the newer Lincoln has nothing to do with the Old Lincoln. The original Lincoln is straight up Lincoln High School, thats why I placed those pictures on there to inform people of that. I am only nineteen but I do my research on the Black High School that were open during segregation.

What is this with the Lincoln High Tallahassee, FL page???? I am very VERY upset that my information and research has been deleted.

List of high schools in Florida[edit]

I have done a wholesale reversion of your edits to this page. You have added schools which no longer exist, and quite a number of middle schools; the list is only for high schools, and (as far as I can tell) there are no schools which no longer exist. Please don't add closed schools or schools which do not meet the criteria for the list. Horologium (talk) 02:04, 5 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The article Dr. R. Moton High School has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

This school is stated here not to exist; no notability for the unnamed bits and elementary school that remain

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a search with the contents of Lincoln High School, Home of the Tigers, and it appears to be very similar to another Wikipedia page: Lincoln High School (Tallahassee, Florida). It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case. If you are intentionally trying to rename an article, please see Help:Moving a page for instructions on how to do this without copying and pasting. If you are trying to move or copy content from one article to a different one, please see Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia and be sure you have acknowledged the duplication of material in an edit summary to preserve attribution history.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. Hello, I notice that you recently created a new page, Lincoln High School, Home of the Tigers. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as yourself. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page - Lincoln High School (Tallahassee, Florida). Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will to continue helping improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Lincoln High School (Tallahassee, Florida) - you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.

If you think that the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. MER-C 07:27, 28 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Lincoln High School, Home of the Tigers requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, a rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content. You may wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

The reason why I ask that this page be separate from Lincoln High (Tallahassee,FL) because this Lincoln High School is a different school from Lincoln High that now exist in Tallahassee. I feel that both Lincoln High Schools deserves its own Wikipedia page because The original Lincoln was built and operable during segregation times of America, and the other Lincoln Come afterwards. Thats the difference between and why both should have its own page.

Thanks for uploading File:LincolnBandDir.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. File source and copyright licensing problem with File:LincolnClass59.jpg[edit]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:LincolnClass59.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, we also need to know the terms of the license that the copyright holder has published the file under, usually done by adding a licensing tag. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged files may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the file will be deleted 48 hours after 14:45, 29 January 2010 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Salavat (talk) 14:45, 29 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use File:New_Griffin_Middle.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:New_Griffin_Middle.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Melesse (talk) 01:25, 31 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Image uploads[edit]

You appear to have taken images from this website and uploaded them to Wikipedia. Please do not upload pictures from other websites without permission from the copyright holder or evidence that the images are in the public domain. I have immediately deleted several of your uploads which were clearly taken from that website. Note that "own work" = you physically took the photograph yourself. Please don't upload images as your own work if they are from another website, even if you made some modifications to them before uploading. Did you take any of the other images that are currently displayed in Lincoln High Tigers of Florida from a website? Camaron · Christopher · talk 20:03, 31 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I took those images with my cell phone.—Preceding unsigned comment added by Jayebook (talkcontribs)
Many of these images don't look like the type that would be taken by a cell phone. Some such as File:Tigersoftallahassee.jpg appear to be pictures of other pictures, which means the images are still probably copyrighted as derivative works. The images could be old enough to be in the public domain though evidence will need to provided to show that is the case. Camaron · Christopher · talk 18:25, 1 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

So what you are saying, pictures out yearbooks are copyrighted?—Preceding unsigned comment added by Jayebook (talkcontribs)

First, please sign your posts on talk pages adding four tildes (~~~~). In answer to your question, yes, unless they are (a) in the public domain as they are too old to be copyrighted, or (b) they have been released under a free licence by the authors. Camaron · Christopher · talk 22:19, 3 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I understand that those photos were taken in 1931 and its for the public to view in the Lincoln Room of Tallahassee. Jayebook (talk) 04:55, 4 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Due to their uncertain copyright status I have nominated several of your files at WP:PUF. You may find the nominations at Wikipedia:Possibly unfree files/2010 February 16. You also may wish to comment on the two proposed titles at Talk:Lincoln High School (Tallahassee, Florida)#Content dispute, saying which one you prefer and why. Moving of user space[edit]

Hello,

I have reverted your recent moving of your user space. The 'User:' prefix has to be there in order for your user pages to be in the user space, so please do not delete this, since doing so moves your user page into the main (article) space which causes lots of problems, see Wikipedia:Namespace. If you are drafting an article it is best to put it on a sub-page (e.g. User:Jayebook/Example) and move that to the main space when you are ready, however your main user page and in particular your user talk page history must remain in the user space. CT Cooper · talk 14:29, 11 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

December 2010[edit]

Please do not move a page to a title that is harder to follow or move it unilaterally against naming conventions or consensus, as you did to Miami Northwestern High School. This includes making page moves while a discussion remains under way. We have some guidelines to help with deciding what title is best for a subject. If you would like to experiment with page titles and moving, please use the test Wikipedia. Thank you. —bender235 (talk) 01:24, 25 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I urge you to review this page and regarding "I understand that North Dade isnt a high school anymore BUT this need to have its own personal page", please note that we don't want two separate pages on what are basically the same thing. Because the Jr/Sr high changed into the middle school, we should include the same information on the same page, per WP:SENSE. It's like saying we should have a separate page for Michelle Robinson before she became Michelle Obama. There is no point. /ƒETCHCOMMS/ 00:05, 5 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Is it possible that the page can be deleted since I'm the one who initated this page? I mean I've had this done before with another school and it was done. Now why can't this be done for this school.
