I just discovered that this draft, which I started working on in 2017, shows up in search. Is there anything I can do to prevent it from being indexed by Google, etc? At this point it's mostly a collection of notes and sources. Thank you! JSFarman (talk) 19:05, 7 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

You can try adding {{noindex}} to the page, but results aren't guaranteed. For more information, see Wikipedia:Controlling search engine indexing. 78.28.55.171 (talk) 20:03, 7 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, I'll try that. Fingers crossed. JSFarman (talk) 20:22, 7 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Collaboration notes with Geo[edit]

Hi @JSFarman.
Thank you very much Julie...I appreciate the kind things you mentioned about me! Well, I did finish a preliminary version of the screenplay I began writing when we first met here online. So far, three real Hollywood screenwriters do like it and believe it has potential with more refinement. One of them, who has worked with Morgan Freeman and Oliver Stone, asked me to read his DeLorean script for authenticity purposes, since I grew up in the Detroit area. I found about five typos for him. He was very happy and told me I would literally get credited in the credits at the end of the film whenever it comes out. Anyhow, I could go on about all of that really cool personal stuff that has happened to me the past several months, but I might be boring you. I had some free time, so I was trying to give my best shot to hopefully finish off EMJ article. I know you mentioned a few names of deserving people to me before. Not promising anything right now, but you can mention a few names at the top of the list and I will see what I can do to help you out. I actually Googled your name for a few minutes last night and saw quite a few articles that seemingly make you a candidate for an article. Maybe one day it’ll be written! Thank you! I hope you’re splendid as well! Geo Lightspeed7 (talk) 23:40, 8 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
That's fantastic. Congrats! I love that! The film stuff and the very cool personal things and the credit - that really is great.
MY top two in the music industry are Marsha Vlasic and Cara Lewis. Both of whom I have started: Cara Lewis, Marsha Vlasic. Cara is a hip hop agent (name checked in "Paid in Full" and Marsha was one of the first female agents in the music industry. (There are so many others if neither of these women are of interest to you.) And! I am definitely a case of "meets GNG but not notable." Let me know if you need any help and carry on and so glad for your good news. Julie JSFarman (talk) 18:16, 9 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @JSFarman. Thank you very much! I’m hoping for the best for that project!
I looked over both, especially Marsha, Marsha, Marsha...forgive me, I’ve been watching a lot of the Brady Bunch episodes and movies the past week during some relaxation time. I just couldn’t resist the urge to finally get a chance to say that! Lol. Anyhow, I happened to notice a name that rang a bell when I looked at the Billboard reference for her. Carianne Marshall. I then did some research and saw that you had done an article for her. (What are the odds of me stumbling on that coincidence?) She seems to have a lot of notable material written about her. She might be an interesting choice for me to work on her article? Let me know the scoop if you want to share it. If not, please forgive me for butting into your work. If no go with her, maybe you can send me a few more to choose from. The strange way that Carianne popped into this dialogue seems to be a cue for me to possibly work on her article. I think you mentioned to me before that you were not notable enough. It was just a wishful-thinking thought for you Julie! Anyway, let me know and I will get back to you when possible. Have a great day! Geo Lightspeed7 (talk) 20:50, 9 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Omg you are killing me! Carianne Marshall is one of the least interesting people I have started articles on! You're welcome to work on anything in my sandbox (and it's not butting in) but if Cara or Marsha don't do it for you how about Pat Kingsley? She has an amazing story and legit connections to everyone from Marilyn Monroe to Tom Cruise!! JSFarman (talk) 22:41, 10 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @JSFarman. I went back and looked at our conversation from months ago and you had listed Carianne as one to work on. That’s why it rang a bell when I saw her in Billboard. I saw your sandbox article about her, but I looked in search and it looked like you already finished it. It’s a bit confusing to me, so please send me the latest link for her. Not saying I will for her, but I just want to see how far you actually are with it. Pat Kingsley looks interesting. My dad’s girlfriend in the 40s ended up marrying Marilyn’s chauffeur. He was a film producer and Kennedy White House insider. Pat probably knew of my dad through her...so her article might be the one I choose to work on with you. Let me think it over this weekend, though, and I will let you know what I decide. How does co-writing on Wikipedia work. I mean, who gets credited with the article...both? It’s not that I care a lot about the stats, just curious... Good night, Julie! Geo Lightspeed7 (talk) 00:17, 11 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
These are just ideas - women who should absolutely be in Wikipedia who you might enjoy writing about if you aren't all tied up with Erin. M. Jacobsen. I'm not concerned with credit or co-writing or anything - I jst want to see these women on WP. I have great intentions but, um, Pat Kingsley has been sitting in my sandbox since 2017. (Also: WP:OWN.) I have this vague memory of actually publishing Carianne and then requesting it be deleted b/c I realize jumped the gun. Resume-like maybe w/questionable notability? I don't remember. And I can't seem to find a copy of it. Perhaps I will try again tomorrow but tonight I am going to sleep. Good night! JSFarman (talk) 05:52, 11 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Good morning @JSFarman. Hope you had a restful sleep. I now understand about Carianne’s article. You don’t have to look for it if you don’t want to. I will probably help you out with Pat. I have done about as much as I can for EMJ article. I’ll check every now and then to see if there is anything new out that can benefit her article. Have a nice day, Julie! Geo Lightspeed7 (talk) 13:07, 11 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @JSFarman. I did some editing for Kingsley article...Personal life section. I dug up some details for you. You had that they divorced in 1980. That’s what IMDb records...1978 THR. You might want to clean that section up. I’m trying to make sense of the notes at the end. I don’t want to remove something you placed there for a reason. Anyway, let me know what you think. If you don’t like it, I can stop. Thanks Julie! Geo Lightspeed7 (talk) 19:37, 11 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I am going to move our conversation here: User talk:JSFarman/sandbox/Pat Kingsley. See you over there! JSFarman (talk) 01:48, 12 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Okay @JSFarman. You’re welcome for the thank you. I added the grandson Ethan just now. It makes sense to me. See if it makes sense to you. Thanks Julie! Geo Lightspeed7 (talk) 19:06, 12 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @JSFarman I just added a (hopefully interesting) addition to Pat’s article. It’s my summation of the 2nd and 3rd last paragraphs of that Hollywood Reporter article. I think it’s pretty appropriate for the age she’s currently at, thinking about her mortality. If you like it and think it is appropriate, you might want to situate somewhere different than where I put it. Anyway, I put some time and thought into it, so hopefully it wasn’t in vain! Geo Lightspeed7 (talk) 23:17, 12 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Geo Lightspeed7! Very interesting! We can use it somewhere in the article for sure. I will work on the article more this week - just a bit behind right now. Thank you! JSFarman (talk) 21:07, 13 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @JSFarman! Thank you! That’s good. I hope the ‘Doris Day kept at bay’ part will work, too. I’m glad you persuaded me to work on Pat’s article. She’s very interesting, indeed! No problem...take your time. You’re welcome! Geo Lightspeed7 (talk) 00:06, 14 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @JSFarman! Today, I sort of created an opening for the end of her career. I’m sure there is a lot more to add before and after my new addition, but I figured we needed something to begin explaining how it came to an end for her. I hope you like it and find it usable. Have a good evening! Geo Lightspeed7 (talk) 23:59, 14 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hello Geo Lightspeed7! I really love the Doris Day part! There is a *lot* more to add. Stay tuned. (Just google Pat Kingsley and Tom Cruise for a preview.) (Are you too young for the Tom Cruise Oprah couch-jump?) JSFarman (talk) 00:29, 15 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hello @JSFarman. Thank you! Glad you like it! Okay...I’ll stay tuned. It’s like putting a really big puzzle together. I always did the borders of the puzzle first. That seemed to get my bearings straight. That’s why I added the ending. Okay, I will Google the phrase you mentioned. No, I’m not too young to remember Oprah’s and Tom’s get together. That building in Chicago is now owned by McDonald’s...headquarters. My neighbor works for one of their suppliers and sometimes visits that HQ building. It’s a small world. Geo Lightspeed7 (talk) 19:51, 15 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @JSFarman! I saw your edits. Feel free to do whatever on the info I add. You’re the expert. You’re more like a finish carpenter. I’m likened to the rough carpenter in this project. Anyhow, check out my latest addition...Cruise’s couch jumping incident. I think it sums it up sufficiently and allows for more info to be added after that intro. That’s my opinion...but like I mentioned, you’re the expert. Good evening, Julie! Geo Lightspeed7 (talk) 00:39, 16 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
That whole bit about her spirituality...my mind is blown. (I KNEW you would enjoy this article, Geo Lightspeed7! JSFarman (talk) 01:12, 16 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hello@JSFarman. Thank you! Are you ready to have your mind blown again? Lol. After working on that piece about Tom Cruise yesterday, I remembered something that I mentioned in a chapter of a book that I’m writing. First of all, Tom was jumping on her couch because he was excited about Katie Holmes. Well, Katie and I were born on the SAME DAY of the year! She was born and raised in a city about an hour’s drive from where I was born and raised! Tom Cruise and I are the SAME AGE...a few months difference! Both Tom and Katie were in Chicago when he jumped on Oprah’s couch, for the premier of War of the World’s. While surfing the tv channels this morning, I saw it playing! Considering the fact that I wasn’t searching for it and that I have never seen it before makes this incident I’m writing about very bizarre. It’s gets even more bizarre. That particular section of my book is an association to Top Gun. I worked in the chemical industry years ago as a research chemist. When I first started, my coworker named TOM and I worked together at a control panel that could be likened to the controls of a F-14 in Top Gun. At first, we didn’t get along very well. I was nice...he had a beef with me for some reason. Unbeknownst to me at the time, his high school and the high school I went to clashed in championship playoff game. It was actually his younger brother. Tom was a year older than me. We ended up becoming okay friends, but he was somewhat jealous of me because I ended up being the Top Gun of the department. Lol Julia, our boss, was a Russian Jewish immigrant. We became really good friends. Like Tom Cruise and Pat Kinglsey, Julia and I worked really well together. I literally was her star pupil! It’s another strange coincidence that she is named Julia and you’re named Julie! While I was writing this message to you, I took a little break and went to the kitchen to get something to eat. I ate it while watching tv. While watching a Gain laundry detergent commercial, I heard the Top Gun song “You Take My Breath Away!” It’s part of the commercial. Then, I watched a few minutes of MacGyver. A woman named KATIE abandoned her infant to MacGyver. Final coincidence, but probably not, my neighbor’s wife, the neighbor who I mentioned earlier who occasionally visits the former Oprah studio in Chicago, stopped by and asked me if I wanted some shepherds pie. They made too much last night for dinner. Anyway, I went next door to get it out of the fridge. While standing in the living room talking for a few minutes, my eyes noticed a poster of their favorite movie hanging on the wall. Wonder Boys. The eyes of Katie Holmes in a photo on that poster seemed to be looking straight at me, towards the left! Lol! I kid you not! So very strange, isn’t it? I Googled the poster when I got back to writing this story. I noticed actress Frances McDormand was on the poster, too. I said to myself, She looks familiar. She was in mother movie I sort of stumbled upon last week, Almost Famous. I was fascinated by it and watched it a few times. The young boy reminded me a little of me when I was in high school. Nice, quiet kid...even similar resemblance. Strange, but, I too, have found myself writing articles about famous people, on Wikipedia and two private articles about a famous musician that got published! And also a screenplay! I will definitely be adding this story to my Top Gun story in my book! Geo Lightspeed7 (talk) 21:39, 16 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Wow. Amazing story. Definitely strange!
Love your changes once again. I added possible headings; she had a very long and controversial career - do you think we should add a controversy section?
Your writing is fantastic but we need to avoid using adjectives (unless we are taking them from a direct quote, and even then, we should be judicious - all about NPOV, yeah?) Also, be careful about synthesis. I will probably not work on this again until Sunday-ish but thank you for the inspiration! JSFarman (talk) 15:05, 18 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @JSFarman! Thank you and you’re welcome!
That’s a great idea about headings and possible controversies section.
Thanks for complimenting my writing! I sometimes get carried away with adjectives and alliteratives. I will watch it, but feel free to remove anything inappropriate.
I found and added an award she won and a charitable cause she wanted to get involved with. Haven’t found anything that mentions she actually got involved.
Have a wonderful weekend, Julie! Geo Lightspeed7 (talk) 20:14, 18 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

August 21 onward[edit]

Hi, happy Monday! Once again, very interesting edits! I took out the bits about Julia Roberts, Dodi Fayed, and Candice Bergen because they were anecdotal and we have so much substantial material that we can include that directly address Kinglsey's career, achievements, failures, relationships, etc. Love the Lily Tomlin, Sharon Stone, and Tom Cruise graphs.

We need to be very selective/sparing in using quotes. They should only be used if there is a specific need for them -- directly related to Kingsley -- ie, Tom Cruise's career taking a hit, or describing her influence or legacy.

OK then. Thank you! Carry on! Sometime soon I will add rather than delete.  :) JSFarman (talk) 19:38, 21 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi and happy Monday to you, too, @JSFarman! Glad you survived the hurricane and the earthquake. (I think I read you were in LA area.) It adds a dimension of drama to writing Pat’s article during this historic event.
I added those tidbits to show how she actually directly interacted with her clientele. I thought they added a “microscopic” view of her rather than just a powerful executive that painted with a broad brush...that was only concerned for the group and not for the individual. I guess I was thinking along the line of a plot for a biopic about her. I do wear many writing hats, you know, so I guess I must have had my screenwriting hat on at the time. Lol. Thank you for liking the ones that you did.
I’ll cool it with the quotes. It’s an easy way to compose quickly. Like the old Yellow Page jingle, Let your fingers do the walking! Let the quotes do the talking! Lol.
Thank you Julie! I will “carry on.” See you “sometime soon!” Geo Lightspeed7 (talk) 23:12, 21 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @JSFarman! Haven’t heard from you in a few days. Everything okay? I made a few new additions to her article. Wondering what you thought of them before I proceed further. Thanks, Julie! Geo Lightspeed7 (talk) 20:31, 24 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Geo Lightspeed7 and sorry for the silence. I injured my kneee and I mostly just sit around and say OW. But I have also been trying to finish another few articles I've been working on forever!
This is a tough article in some ways -- there has been so much written about her that a lot of trivia is reported. I always question the motivation of the journalists; did she do something that pissed them off? Are they writing a story to ingratiate themselves? There is such rich material that I totally understand having your screenwriter hat on. And again. I love your writing! But on WP we avoid adjectives, trivia, fancy language, and synthesis.
I have written five or six articles about publicists but my favorite, above and beyond, is Harry Brand. There's definitely a great story there, but it was easy to write based strictly on the facts. (Also, I had help from the folks who work on DYK!) I'm going to do a fast edit on Pat now. I'm also going to try to track down a photo! Thank you Geo. (PS, the storm and earthquake out here were barely detectable in my hood!) JSFarman (talk) 21:03, 24 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @JSFarman. That’s not good news regarding your knee injury. Sorry...I hope it’s not too serious! Wishing you a speedy recovery, relief from the pain and better mobility!
That’s okay! No rush...just wanting to see if I’m adding the right stuff. I agree, it is a challenging article in some ways, especially when working together in a tandem sort of way...interpreting the info and composing it in the proper way and the communication aspect. Oh, well...we make the best of it, right? It’s making progress, though.
I think the journalists doled out a little revenge for her, for sure. They may have revered her, but I don’t think they liked her much at all. She probably knew it, too, but didn’t care what they thought about her. Champions sometimes have to walk alone and she certainly was one! I’m surprised that no one has yet to write a Wikipedia article about her. Maybe some people feel she’s a type of tabu?
Thank you regarding my writing! I will continue to work on the advice you mentioned about adjectives and so on... I will look at your Harry Brand article for reference purposes. Thanks for the tip.
I looked for a Pat K photo, but couldn’t find one. Maybe just use a fair use photo?
Glad the natural disasters didn’t devastate your state! I sometimes watch different local news on tv. LA channel is one on the network here. Their reporting didn’t show much of a problem from the weekend.
Thanks, Julie! Hope you feel better soon!
Geo Lightspeed7 (talk) 22:22, 24 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @JSFarman. I just noticed your editing on PK article. You are doing a really great job of getting it done properly. I sort of sense that I might be getting in the way. You probably are spending too much time cleaning up a lot of the content I’m adding. You’re the pro when it comes to this subject matter. It’s interesting to me, but it’s still new material for the most part. I read your interesting Harry Brand article. Nice job! I hope your knee is doing better! Geo Lightspeed7 (talk) 20:23, 26 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @JSFarman. Hope you’re doing well. Haven’t heard from you lately? Just wanted to let you that I was given the opportunity today to write a story for a big-city newspaper. It might take me a week or two to put it all together, so I won’t be able to work on Kingsley article for a while. Have a great week, Julie! Geo Lightspeed7 (talk) 20:36, 28 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Geo! That is so cool about the newspaper! Congratulations. My knee is still messed up but it isn't terrible. I just have a hard time keeping up with messages. Too many platforms! I always get distracted. Anyway! Thank you for all of help and I will look forward to reconvening after you file your story. Congrats again! JSFarman (talk) 20:58, 28 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @JSFarman! Thank you very much! Glad your knee is improving! You do seem like you do a lot of work for Mr. and Mrs. Wikipedia! Lol. Keep up the great work, though! You’re welcome and “I’ll be back!” Thanks again, Julie! Geo Lightspeed7 (talk) 22:26, 28 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I just found a source that I had overlooked before that goes into the negative impact she had on journalism and I am now all pumped up on this article again. She really does have an incredible story. (Hello and/or welcome back!)
