October 2012[edit]

Hello, I'm Noq. I wanted to let you know that I removed an external link you added to the page Bobby Fischer, because it seemed to be inappropriate for an encyclopedia. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page, or take a look at our guidelines about links. Thank you. noq (talk) 14:14, 26 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Slideshow of pictures of chess[edit]

I think your pictures might be more usefully linked from Chess piece. If Noq objects there, too, I will take up the cudgels on your behalf. I have my argument ready. J S Ayer (talk) 03:23, 20 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, however:

- Noq wrrote to me: "The links you added Seem to be to a personal website, and more SPECIFICALLY It Seems to be your personal website. Wikipedia is not designed to Increase traffic to your website and external links shoulds meet the Criteria at WP: ELNO. " noq ( talk) 15:23, 26 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

- My page http://www.jmrw.com/Chess/Tableau_echecs/index.htm. is not finished. I want to enhance it's presentation as I did for my page http://www.jmrw.com/France/Strasbourg/diaporama/index.htm. I will add a selector allowing to choose quickly a period. (This could be done in five minutes).

- The 1724 works of arts presented on this page are all collected from Internet without permission. Recently I picked al lot of pictures from the museums of the list http://www.artcyclopedia.com/museums.html.

Is it allowed? I am surely going to keep this practice because it is impossible for me to act otherwise.

Do you persist to think my page http://www.jmrw.com/Chess/Tableau_echecs/index.htm might be usefully linked from Chess piece?

I hadn't realized that they were all taken from the Internet without permission. In that case we would need to know that they were all in the public domain. J S Ayer (talk) 23:18, 25 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
