Pussycat Dolls[edit]

They are Pop and R&B. Pop is first then R&B. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Charmed36 (talkcontribs) 22:23, November 20, 2006

Edit summary[edit]

When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labeled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:

Edit summary text box

The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.

Filling in the edit summary field greatly helps your fellow contributors in understanding what you changed, so please always fill in the edit summary field, especially for big edits or when you are making subtle but important changes, like changing dates or numbers. Thank you. --Geniac 16:34, 7 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

PCD[edit]

No one is bothering with PCD's genre. I'm not worrying about you being wrong. I have better articles to contribute with correct information. Charmed36 02:41, 8 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed content from The Pussycat Dolls. Please be careful not to remove content from Wikipedia without a valid reason, which you should specify in the edit summary or on the article's talk page. Take a look at our welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. ShadowHalo 00:18, 23 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Why have you undone my edit? The Pussycat Dolls aren't just hip-hop: they are a mixture. Where are you getting your information from? Acalamari 21:26, 2 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for Image:PCD.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:PCD.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Image copyright problem with Image:Danity.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Danity.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

Images[edit]

You can't use an album cover in the infobox of The Pussycat Dolls because it's being used to illustrate the band, not the album. So the box must use a free image (that concert pic there now is free) instead. Free images can be user-made (taking a picture of The Pussycat Dolls in person) or asking permission to use someone else's self-made photo (that concert pic, for example). Also, publicity photos (like Image:PCD2.gif) can't be used either; they are believed to be copyright violations. If you want to replace the concert photo, you need to find another free image. Crumbsucker 02:50, 13 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Wallpapers aren't free. By "self-made," I mean you see the PCD in person yourself and take a picture yourself. The images on the page now are fine. Maybe better free images will come along later, but getting a replacement is not urgent. Crumbsucker 08:48, 14 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

mmh ...[edit]

I'll revert as often as you use "< br >" within the infoboxes .... - Noboyo

With all respect, you're at each other's throats over formatting. This can't be the most healthy thing to get worked up about, so would you be willing to, say, put it to a vote, or other way of moving forward, and try to get on amicably over your shared interest in Rhythm and Blues? Adam Cuerden talk 18:28, 19 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please don't replace the (correctly used) en-rule with a hyphen flanked by spaces. --Mel Etitis (Talk) 18:43, 19 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Punctuation[edit]

Song/single titles are in inverted commas, album titles are in italics. --Mel Etitis (Talk) 17:45, 23 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've reverted your edit to Gwen Stefani, which undid several previous edits, including the addition of references. If you disagree with the formatting in the infobox, please bring it up at the article's talk page. ShadowHalo 23:09, 24 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Warning[edit]

Your edits are now becoming disruptive; you are repeatedly returning articles to non-Wikipedia format, despite being warned. If you continue to do this, you will be blocked from editing. --Mel Etitis (Talk) 17:43, 25 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

"Why revert?" you ask. Because, as I and other people have explained to you, you're changing articles from correct Wikipedia style to incorrect. My warning still stands. --Mel Etitis (Talk) 20:42, 25 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

And you're at it again. Why do you insist on reverting articles to states that are out of line with both the MoS and the relevant WikiProjects, all without even the courtesy of explanation or discussion? --Mel Etitis (Talk) 12:32, 2 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not remove warnings. Just follow the rules and everyone will get along, ok? Kaisershatner 16:28, 5 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Ditto. It is considered vandalism. Eventually, if you want to reform and hide your past history of abuse, you can tuck it in an WP:ARCHIVE, but removing recent warnings will not help you get along here. Danski14(talk) 17:09, 5 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Hi. There's no conflict here. See:[4] Wiki users have a right to know about your history of warnings, blocks, etc., which is why you shouldn't remove them, and you don't own your Talk page. On the other hand, if you just edit constructively going forward, no one will care at all about your early difficulties. Best wishes, Kaisershatner 17:13, 5 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Duplicate images uploaded[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:PCDLogo.jpeg. A machine-controlled robot account noticed that you uploaded the same image twice: as Image:PCDLogo.jpeg and also as Image:PCDLogo.JPEG. The latter copy of the file has been marked for speedy deletion since it is redundant. If this sounds okay to you, there is no need for you to take any action.

This is an automated message- you have not upset or annoyed anyone. In the future, you may save yourself some confusion if you supply a meaningful file name and remember exactly which name you chose (file names are case sensitive, including the extension) so that you won't lose track of your uploads. For tips on good file naming, see Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions about this notice, or feel that the deletion is inappropriate, please contact User:Staecker, who operates the robot account. Staeckerbot 17:16, 20 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Some Links.[edit]

You should read the following links: WP:3RR, WP:TALK, WP:ICT, and WP:IUP. You will find them very helpful. I am giving you these links because you have been blocked five times; future blocks will be longer, or worse, indefinite. Acalamari 23:14, 20 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Civility.[edit]

This edit summary here is totally unacceptable. Please read WP:CIVIL and WP:NPA. As for the format of the page, saying that that way looks better is not a valid reason to revert my edits. Read the discussions on Talk: Pussycat Dolls to do with the format as well please. Acalamari 17:12, 12 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

June 2007.[edit]

This is the only warning you will receive for your disruptive edits. If you vandalize Wikipedia again, as you did to Pussycat Dolls, you will be blocked from editing. Acalamari 20:35, 12 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked[edit]

I have blocked you for 48 hours because you have continued to make edits without discussion, further to that you have used rather incivil edit summaries in recent days after plenty of warnings and previous blocked. Please take a look at the manual of style before you return. Ryan Postlethwaite 00:19, 17 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have increased the time to a month, because you've been doing this exact same thing, on the exact same pages every single time I've dealt with you. This is getting beyond ridiculous, and if you do this once more, I suggest that you be permanently banned. Adam Cuerden talk 02:50, 17 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Infobox formats[edit]

Please stop changing the formats of infoboxes to an incorrect format. Commas, not breaks, are used in the infoboxes you keep changing. You have been blocked several times for introducing incorrect formatting to infoboxes, and your recent block was a month long. Again, I ask you, please stop changing them. Acalamari 01:54, 20 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Also, please see Template: Infobox musical artist. You'll see that commas, not breaks, are used. Acalamari 01:59, 20 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Quite. Can you please stop that? If you keep doing it, without getting consensus, I'm going to have to block you again. Adam Cuerden talk 02:09, 20 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • To begin with, I suggest you take a look at WP:CIVIL and WP:NPA. You'll find them to be a very good read.
Secondly, you continue to edit infoboxes so they become out of the standard format. You also edit section/sub-section titles to put in unnecessary capitalizing. These edits are disruptive, and don't need to be done. You've been asked several times by different users to stop. Again, I ask you, please stop these edits. As for the music video summary, you didn't add any sources, and it was original research. Acalamari 16:21, 20 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image source problem with Image:B8e6 1.jpg[edit]

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:B8e6 1.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 19:54, 20 August 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Yamla 19:54, 20 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked[edit]

I see your uncivil edit summaries and edit warring have continued unabated and you continue to show no evidence that you are going to mend your ways. You have now been blocked indefinitely. As per WP:BLOCK and WP:SOCK, you are not permitted to create any new account to continue editing. --Yamla 19:58, 20 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Lobster.JPG)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Lobster.JPG. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 01:12, 21 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

From the Editor

Welcome to the inaugural edition of the WikiProject Professional wrestling newsletter! I hope this will be a good source of news to those people interested in what's happening around our pro wrestlimg community. I plan to release it every Sunday.

This newsletter will just be a way to get the community announcements to people who don't have the time to check the mesageboards, as well that to those just curious about the news. The newsleter will consist of a project news section (to do with what's happening on Wikipedia), and a current events section (relating to news in the "real world"). The newslette will also contain the Collaboration of the Week announcement.

That's all. If you have any feedback or suggestions, please post them at this talk page.
