Newark flight from Delhi airport[edit]
Hi. I noticed you recently removed Newark airport from Destinations section of Indira Gandhi International Airport. Let me clear this to you that Air India provide connectivity to both Delhi and Mumbai with one single flight to New York-JFK and Newark airport respectively. Let me explain this to you. Explanation is long but please read it complete because you need it.
To New York-JFK[edit]
Flight number AI101 originally starts from Mumbai with Mumbai passengers onboard at 9:00pm IST to Delhi where it reaches at 11:15pm by schedule and makes a layover there for 2 hr 20 min. Passengers from Delhi can board flight in the meantime. Aircraft is not changed, i.e. same aircraft (No.101) departs from Delhi at 1:35am IST and flies non-stop to JFK airport where it reaches at 6:35am (in local time of U.S.). Thus this flight serves both Delhi and Mumbai. Passengers of both Delhi and Mumbai can book seats on this flight. So, New York-JFK must be mentioned as destination on articles of both Delhi airport and Mumbai airport.
To Newark[edit]
Likewise, flight number AI191 originally starts from Delhi with Delhi passengers onboard at 9:00pm IST to Mumbai where it reaches at 11:10pm by schedule and makes a layover there for 2 hr 20 min. Passengers from Mumbai can board flight in the meantime. Aircraft is not changed, i.e. same aircraft (No.191) departs from Mumbai at 1:30am IST and flies non-stop to Newark airport where it reaches at 7:15am (in local time of U.S.). Thus this flight also serves both Delhi and Mumbai. Passengers of both Delhi and Mumbai can book seats on this flight. So, Newark also must be mentioned as destination on articles of both Delhi airport and Mumbai airport.
Other examples of these kind of flights are Ahmedabad to Newark flight (making layover at London Heathrow) and Lahore to New York-JFK flight (making layover at London Heathrow on its onward journey but it flies non-stop on its return journey from JFK to Lahore).
Remember these flights are called stopping flights and are different from connecting flights. Connecting flights involve change of aircraft of same or even different airline. But stopping flights complete their journey in a single aircraft and make one (mainly) or more stops on specific locations and in this way serve two (mainly) or more cities to final destination. Also, sometimes Google flights include stopping flights in connecting flights. But final destination of connecting flights can never be included among destinations served by starting point of that connecting flight because of different aircrafts. But final destination of a stopping flight is always included among destinations served by starting point airport as well as those served by the intermediate airport(s). I hope you now understood that it was a blunder on your part to remove Newark from Air India destinations of Delhi airport.
Sorry for the very long explanation. If you still have doubts, just type "AI101 flight" or "AI191" in Google search box. I am sure all your doubts will get clarified by the search result displayed on top. This is the simple way. And if you are searching for Delhi to Newark or Mumbai to JFK Air India flight on Google flights, you will have to search for an Air India flight with 1 stop which depart at 9:00pm IST from Delhi/ Mumbai. Cut-and-paste moves: don't do it.[edit]
Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give Donald Richards a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.
In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Dear Irehdna, in reference to the addition of a reference to AA flight GIG-JFK, please note that the reference mentions only GIG-MIA flight. Apparently, GIG-JFK will resume only on December 16, 2021 (and this is not certain) but a reliable citation has not yet been found. On March 4, another editor removed the citation needed label. I prefer to get in contact with you in order to avoid editing disputes as it has happened with other editors in the past but I encourage you to remove the reference and add a citation needed label. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment.
