Dear uploader: The media file you uploaded as File:DIU Auditorium.jpg has been listed for speedy deletion because you selected a copyright license type implying some type of restricted use, such as for non-commercial use only, or for educational use only or for use on Wikipedia by permission. While it might seem reasonable to assume that such files can be freely used on Wikipedia, this is in fact not the case[1][2]. Please do not upload any more files with these restrictions on them, because images on Wikipedia need to be compatible with the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike or another free license, which allow anyone to use it for any purpose, commercial or non-commercial. See our non-free content guidelines for more more information.

If you created this media file and want to use it on Wikipedia, you may re-upload it (or amend the image description if it has not yet been deleted) and use the license {{cc-by-sa-3.0}} to license it under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 license, or use {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain. Note, if you did create this file, you may want to upload it to Wikimedia Commons, which will allow the image to be accessed by all Wikimedia Foundation projects (which include the various localized versions of Wikipedia)

If you did not create this media file, please understand that the vast majority of images found on the internet are not appropriate for Wikipedia. Most content on the internet is copyrighted and the creator of the image has exclusive rights to use it. Wikipedia respects the copyrights of others - do not upload images that violate others' copyrights. In certain limited cases, we may be able to use an image under a claim of fair use - if you are certain that fair use would apply here, you may choose one of the fair use tags from this list. If no fair use rationale applies, you may want to contact the copyright holder and request that they make the media available under a free license.

If you have any questions please ask at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you. Angus McLellan (Talk) 12:31, 7 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File copyright problem with File:2nd_Convocation.jpg[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:2nd_Convocation.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Closedmouth (talk) 13:32, 17 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Image uploads[edit]

A rather large number of your uploads appear to have been taken from http://photo.daffodilvarsity.edu.bd/index.php?cat=3, and are hence may be assumed copyrighted and subject to deletion. Note that unless you physically took the photograph then the image is not your own work. Please indicate which, if any, of these images are your own work below. If you do not respond I may list the images at Wikipedia:Possibly unfree files. Thanks in advance. Camaron · Christopher · talk 20:58, 22 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It appears that the text added to Daffodil International University is copy and pasted copyright violations from various sources, which indicates to me that the owner of this account does not understand the copyright policy of Wikipedia. As a result I have deleted images which appear to have been taken from http://photo.daffodilvarsity.edu.bd/index.php?cat=3 and/or follow the characteristics of copyright violating images, given that it appears highly likely that such images are copyright violations. Normally I would take unproven cases to WP:PUF, but in this instance given the history of this account I have gone for speedy deletion. CT Cooper · talk 10:14, 12 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:ENG LAN LAB.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Copyright violations[edit]

You appear to have once again added copyright violating material to Daffodil International University including content from here, without any evidence of permission from the copyright holder, making it a copyright violation. This is unacceptable per the copyright policy, and since you have already been warned about this, if you re-insert such material again you may be blocked from editing without further notice. CT Cooper · talk 11:23, 1 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The material you have added has been deleted as it contains material copied from website(s) without permission of the copyright holder. Wikipedia only accepts free content, and when you submit material to Wikipedia you agree to release it under the CC-BY-SA licence. However you can only release material onto Wikipedia under that licence if you are the copyright holder, in other words, it must be in your own words. Please read the the copyright policy carefully. Much of the material added was also heavily promotional and not encyclopaedic. Content added to Wikipedia must be written from a neutral point of view. Other policies worth reading are Wikipedia:Verifiability and Wikipedia:No original research. If you are connected to the university, please also read and agree to the Wikipedia:Conflict of interest guideline. CT Cooper · talk 09:24, 2 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
