Speedy deletion nomination of God Tech: Mark of the Beast[edit]

Hello Invisiblesword,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged God Tech: Mark of the Beast for deletion, because it seems to be copied from another source.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to rewrite it in your own words, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Onel5969 TT me 12:32, 10 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Onwards and Upwards Publishers requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Your contributions[edit]

Hi Invisiblesword- I'm somewhat concerned about your contributions. Topics covered on Wikipedia have to be notable, and we determine notability based upon coverage in independent, reliable sources. Your articles (David John Jeffery, God Tech: Mark of the Beast and Susana Rodrigues) seem to cover topics of unclear "notability"- have the subjects received coverage in reliable sources, such as respectable newspapers or magazines? If not, I'm afraid Wikipedia cannot support these articles. Josh Milburn (talk) 21:49, 11 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@J Milburn: Are you aware of all the notability checks IMDb perform before you are allowed to be listed with them? Also, Susana Rodrigues has listings in 4 different theatre companies and media companies as well as illumini credits at The Drama Centre London, a prestigious drama university. She is a notable actress. Just tell me what you need and I will get it, rather than saying that you need respectable magazines and Newspapers. Isn't Channel 4, a respectable source? Aren't the Royal Theatre Companies reliable sources? Do you need me to add her registrations with the International Actresses directories such as Casting Call Pro and Spotlight who will only list you if you have regular, professional, paid acting work? Just tell me what you want and I'll get it.
David John Jeffery is a respected author having written a few book, one which reached high sales on Amazon Kindle, approaching relevent issues in the world today such as microchipping humans which is currently practised in Sweden. He has been listed in various book publishing houses as a credible author - do you want these links too? Again, what exactly do you want here? As well as writing, he has a book which is being released internationally as a blockbuster movie G.O.D.TECH.
So G.O.D.TECH is the other one you don't like and I'm in the middle getting the newspaper articles right now for this, so please bear with me while I start to collate those articles together. I will post each one as I collect them. And with regards to David John Jeffery and Susana Rodrigues, just tell me what you need and I'll get it.
User:invisiblesword (talk) 14.16, 13 August 2015 (UTC)
Here on Wikipedia, we normally determine notability based on the general notability guideline (GNG)- "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject". Channel 4 certainly is a reliable source, and an article on the Channel 4 website (for example) about a person would be good start. We also have specific notability guidelines; for example, we assume performers/writers/films/books are notable if they have been shortlisted for particular prestigious awards (Oscars, Tony Awards, BAFTAs, etc). So, we need citations which prove that the subject meets the GNG, or citations that prove that the subject has been nominated for a major award (or some other criterion at Wikipedia:Notability (people), Wikipedia:Notability (films) or Wikipedia:Notability (books)). This is what we need. If these things don't exist, then the subject is probably not notable. If this is not clear, please let me know and I'll do what I can to help. (Also, could I ask you to stop removing the "Living people" categories from the pages? If the subjects are alive, this needs to stay.) Josh Milburn (talk) 16:36, 14 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@J Milburn: Thank you for your advice. I didn't realise I was commiting an offence by deleting the Living People category. I won't do that again.
A press release for David John Jeffery's new book is being released in 4-5 weeks time so that should fix your issue about Press Releases there, this will be accompanied by another press release about G.O.D.TECH. I am still collating the old press releases but there were on paper print, not online so bear with my while I collect those.
Susana Rodrigues is also having a press release in the next 4 weeks so please be patient while I reference of these. User:invisiblesword (talk) 09:58, 21 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
A press release is not the same thing as independent coverage from third party sources- it's pretty much the opposite. Josh Milburn (talk) 17:53, 21 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@J Milburn: So you have deleted G.O.D.TECH without giving me the 4 weeks I asked for. Well here are the news articles:
Ayrshire Post 16th August 2014 "Movie role for hunky Andrew"
Monroe County Advocate & Democrat Page 9, 4th July 2012 "Small town dreams lead to big screen"
I have physical copies of these articles if I need to upload them.
Please could you re-instate the page again.

I have deleted nothing. The page was deleted by Timotheus Canens (talk · contribs), as can be seen in the page's logs, based on the discussion that was had at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/God Tech: Mark of the Beast. I have restored the page and moved it to your userspace- you can find it at User:Invisiblesword/God Tech: Mark of the Beast. This will give you time to work on the article and prepare it for the mainspace. If I can be of any further help, please let me know. Josh Milburn (talk) 16:27, 4 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Timotheus Canens: I have now updated the page at User:Invisiblesword/God Tech: Mark of the Beast so please could you confirm that with the changes, I now pass Wikipedia source guidelines and let me know how to get the page now active online. Thanks.
I was also wondering if I should instead release this as a film page which mentions that it used to be a book. What do you think would be best? Invisiblesword (talk) 15:30, 7 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Please take it to deletion review. T. Canens (talk) 03:18, 14 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
