Hunger 2008

You've reverted the theatrical poster on the grounds that Hunger is a British production, yet films like Sunshine, Dredd, Love Actually,12 Years a Slave, Gravity, The King's Speech and a great many others have used the theatrical release posters, and with such a film it was released in other countries before that of the UK. You really don't get it, do you. UK films don't use the same type of posters as US films. Just take a look at this and you'll know what I'm talking about here. Also, take a look at Shame, the next film Steve McQueen directed, or In Bruges and Seven Psychopaths, both directed by Martin McDonagh, or Pride & Prejudice, Atonement and Anna Karenina, directed by Joe Wright. All these films are directed by English directors and all these films are using the same type of poster as Hunger, as they're all a UK productions as well. If there's already existing page with a full history of all previously uploaded and deleted files/posters, why did you feel the need to upload new poster on the completely new page with the same name, when that will result with deletion of the already existing page.

Sorry mate, but there is no valid reason for your revert. I uploaded a PNG image because the poster compressed better as a PNG image. By the way, I don't know if it's just Wikipedia being slow to update, but from where I am, it doesn't look like your upload is the British poster anyway. Regardless, just giving you the heads up I'll be reverting back to the PNG, because I made the change for a reason and you've given no reasonable argument against it. Per Wikipedia:Preparing images for upload, it is stated that a JPG format should be used for photographic images, like posters or covers. It is also stated that a PNG format should be used for diagrams and screen captures, and not for photographic images. So yes, I do have a valid reason for reverting, since almost all articles within WikiProject Film are using JPG images for their infoboxes, and that's not going to change anytime soon. My God, my English is terrible, but I'll still try to explain to you why I reverted back to the JPG version of the poster. It's not because of the WP:OWN. If it were, I would do this with every single JPG file that you replaced with a PNG file. There, I saw the difference, so I didn't do anything. Here, I see absolutely no difference, it's the same poster, only slightly smaller. The only difference is that it ends with .png, instead of .jpg. I don't know what to say, other than... I don't understand. On my screen the difference is substantial, and I only replaced it because I was browsing the page and the dodgy jpeg stuck out like a sore thumb. And the PNG is certainly not smaller. PNGs are invariably better than jpegs with accurate color reproduction - especially with bold reds, yellows and blues which are riddled with compression artifacts in jpegs. It's just annoying to go out of my way to make an improvement, only for someone to reject it for no apparent reason. — Film Fan 23:24, 16 September 2016 (UTC)

Then, if what you said now is true, feel free to bring back the PNG version, I'm not going to revert it back again to the JPG.
