Touch Me I'm Sick

While it is vital to add quotations in the article, too much is bad as it eventually becomes a copy vio. =) --BritandBeyonce (talk) 09:02, 1 February 2008 (UTC)

Welcome. --BritandBeyonce (talk) 09:24, 1 February 2008 (UTC)

Audioslave

Well, it's the third longest now, although not much shorter than U2 :) Do you think we can leave out some more information? I kinda feel that, but I couldn't do anything. Gocsa (talk) 16:54, 1 February 2008 (UTC)

Also, it's only a little shorter than U2 in bytes, but U2 seems much longer if you look at it, is it the references? Audioslave has many, the majority of references is used only once, and they are mostly web pages, not books, as with U2. So my guess is that U2 saves a lot of bytes by using those book references, right? Gocsa (talk) 17:00, 1 February 2008 (UTC)
I kinda think what's left now is important. And as I said, the refs may make the size so big, for example, I checked another featured article, R.E.M., and compared the main text of the two (only the band history sections) in a word counter programme, and R.E.M.'s is 330 words longer, and its article size is only 50-something kbytes, while Audioslave is about 68. R.E.M's main ref source is pretty much this David Buckley book, so it saves a lot this way.. I guess it's not that big of a discovery:) I just needed to tell this, and probably get some confirmation that I'm right:) Gocsa (talk) 21:28, 9 February 2008 (UTC)
Well, I've deleted the whole paragraph about the Jimmy Kimmel show. I think I also got rid of one or two specific dates. Why do you think the leaking of their demos is redundant? I mean, it's not that the album leaked a week or a month earlier, the leaked songs were really different ones, only rough demos, and they leaked about 5 months before the album's actual release. As the band and their album was really anticipated, hyped, I think this paragraph can stay.. Also, to trim the Letterman part.. It's only 2 sentences, there's nothing to trim:) The KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas is longer, but it's kind of important as it's about Cornell's addiction, and how his bandmates helped him recover. Gocsa (talk) 18:10, 10 February 2008 (UTC)
"Be Yourself" wasn't released in June, it was the first single from the album, the album itself was released in May, it's impossible, bands never do that, one or sometimes two singles precede the album release. It was definitely posted online before that, it was in March http://www.roadrunnerrecords.com/blabbermouth.net/news.aspx?mode=Article&newsitemID=34071, and I know the video was done a month later: http://www.roadrunnerrecords.com/blabbermouth.net/news.aspx?mode=Article&newsitemID=35718, so do something about that. It may be that it only came out in June in a physical form, I mean CD and stuff, but I also doubt that. Remember, there was a part removed about the contest related to the cover of the vinyl single's cover http://www.hyperlaunch.com/audioslave/ it states that the release date is May 30. But the song was definitely availabe in March online, and I think I always used the singles' online release dates, when following the timeline. Gocsa (talk) 19:24, 10 February 2008 (UTC)
Why do you think Temple of the Dog, Lock Up, and Class of '99 isn't supposed to be listed under Associated acts? And then why did you keep Electric Sheep? It was a band of Morello's from the early 80s. But then, Temple of the Dog was Cornell's band, etc. For example, the Pearl Jam article has Bad Radio, which was Vedder's band before Pearl Jam. Also, I've done some work on Audioslave, I think it's getting closer to its ideal size now, isn't it? Gocsa (talk) 21:16, 15 February 2008 (UTC)
Are you there?:) Gocsa (talk) 13:52, 18 February 2008 (UTC)
'Cos there was a question I asked, February 15:) Gocsa (talk) 22:14, 18 February 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, I know the video game and movie soundtracks might not be that important. I know they were not songs specifically written for those movies or video games. I guess we can delete that part. Gocsa (talk) 23:16, 20 February 2008 (UTC)

It's pretty good that it's now only the sixth longest alternative rock article:) Gocsa (talk) 23:24, 22 February 2008 (UTC)

No, I think it's done. I hope so. Gocsa (talk) 20:39, 23 February 2008 (UTC)

Thanks, man! I' hoping to see your constructive comments at the peer review and FAC of Strapping Young Lad (I'll finish it in a week approx.), even though you're not familiar with the band. :) Gocsa (talk) 14:47, 10 March 2008 (UTC)

It's kind of the same as Audioslave was (I mean the article, pretty long and too informative), but I'll get rid of everything unnecessary this week, I just dumped everything there as a kind of a starting point. Gocsa (talk) 14:49, 10 March 2008 (UTC)

Alice in Chains

I took the image out because I thought you didn't want it in there. Were you the one? I'm not even sure if anyone mentioned it actually. I'll add it. —Burningclean [Speak the truth!] 23:49, 4 February 2008 (UTC)

I added the picture back. I really think that all the article needs is a fresh copyedit, preferably from someone who hasn't really seen it. Could you take a look at United Abominations? It is my first album article, so I don't know if I missed anything major. I plan to also take that to FA once I get it figured out. i have way to much free time! :P —Burningclean [Speak the truth!] 04:17, 5 February 2008 (UTC)
I had a cite but it was unreliable. I highly recommend Peace Sells... But Who's Buying, So Far, So Good... So What!, Rust in Peace, and United Abominations. I know it's alot but they are great. I am also seeing them soon, actually on my birthday! The wrting and recording section is kind of the background section, but if it is needed I will add it later (I have to go to bed soon, I have school in the morning). I created a peer review for it, but don't know the link, it is confusing. they changed the nomination proccess. —Burningclean [Speak the truth!] 04:50, 5 February 2008 (UTC)
Yeah I don't think a background section is needed, I kind of added it into the Wirting and recording section. See this for some articles that I saw without it: User:Burningclean/article examples/heavy metal. —Burningclean [Speak the truth!] 04:55, 5 February 2008 (UTC)
Check out Alice in Chains#References, there are alot of magazine citations now. —Burningclean [Speak the truth!] 23:05, 5 February 2008 (UTC)
I left a reply on the FAC. Thanks by the way. United Abominations is under peer review if you would like to comment (Wikipedia:Peer review/United Abominations/archive1). Also Lamb of God (band) is at GAN, so if you have to maby you would like to review that too. —Burningclean [Speak the truth!] 00:08, 9 February 2008 (UTC)
Hello, SandyGeorgia has asked here if we can come to an agreement that the sources are all good, can you check anything that might bother you from the citiations? I have gone through and checked everything again, replacing and removing cites and I think everything is properly sourced now. Thanks again for all of the help with this one! Skeletor2112 (talk) 21:46, 9 February 2008 (UTC)

Alice in Chains is now one of Wikipedias best written articles, and has a bronze star in the top-right corner. —Burningclean [Speak the truth!] 03:43, 11 February 2008 (UTC)

I think I am going to work on Opeth a bit more and take it to FA, but first I should let it pass GA. Thanks by the way. —Burningclean [Speak the truth!] 17:34, 11 February 2008 (UTC)
Hey, would you mind checking out Wikipedia:Featured list candidates/Alice in Chains discography? Thanks, —Burningclean [Speak the truth!] 05:36, 16 February 2008 (UTC)
Awesome! Thanks for helping! Do you like or know Machine Head (band) and/or Hellyeah? —Burningclean [Speak the truth!] 21:35, 17 February 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for the picture. I'll definatly add that. —Burningclean [Speak the truth!] 18:17, 15 March 2008 (UTC)

Wii Sports FAC

Hi. In regard to you comments left on Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/Wii Sports, I was able to find an additional image for the article in the "Development" section. I hope it is enough to gain your support. If not, I'd appreciate any other comments you may have. Thank you. (Guyinblack25 talk 17:11, 12 February 2008 (UTC))

James Blunt GA nomination

I wanted to thank you for your recommendations in this GA nomination review. I've gone back to a lot of my original reference sources and (I think) pulled up quite a bit more information to improve the article, based on your suggestions and those from LaraLove. I still have two paragraphs to write (critical response to the second album, and some "personal life" stuff) as well as some copy editing, fixing up of citations and addition of a bit more information on the second album, but I think you'll find it's heading in the right direction now. Finding that it does seem possible to meet your recommendations gives me hope that, with some continued work, the article might actually meet FA standards in the not-too-distant future. I will need to work on better imaging, I think, to meet those requirements.

I am wondering if you are still in a position to assist in developing an .ogg file for "You're Beautiful;" the more I think about it, the more I am persuaded that if there is to be a sound clip in this article, it should be this song. If you're able to do it, I'd suggest starting at the line "I saw her in the subway, she was with another man..." and continue on for 30 seconds, which will catch the first bit of the chorus as well. (It took me 2 days to find the CD, and I couldn't figure out the timing without it.) I am inclined to remove the Goodbye My Lover clip before asking LaraLove to re-review the article.

Fingers crossed I will be able to get the rest of the article cleaned up tonight and ask LaraLove to give it the once-over tomorrow. Thanks again for your support and advice. Risker (talk) 18:17, 12 February 2008 (UTC)

The da Vinci Barnstar
To Indopug, who braved the hazards of listening repeatedly to the most detested song of 2006 to improve the James Blunt article. Thanks for your help. Risker (talk) 22:30, 12 February 2008 (UTC)

On the title- we're discussing changing it. I believe I've addressed all your other concerns, except for the plot- that story is more than double the length of the other stories and has a much more involved plot, so that's why it's synopsis is a bit longer. David Fuchs (talk) 22:58, 12 February 2008 (UTC)

Changed some more- "moxie" is a perfectly acceptable, succint word to use, I would think. David Fuchs (talk) 00:17, 14 February 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for your review, I have responded to your comments at the FAC discussion page. Cirt (talk) 15:23, 16 February 2008 (UTC)

US v. U.S.

Please check the Style guide on Wikipedia:

In American English, both US and, decreasingly, U.S. are common abbreviations for United States; US is yet more common in other varieties. When referring to the country in a longer abbreviation (USA, USN, USAF), periods are not used. When the United States is mentioned along with one or more other countries in the same sentence, US or U.S. can be too informal, and many editors avoid it especially at first mention of the country (France and the United States, not France and the US). When the United States is mentioned by acronym in the same article as other abbreviated country names, for consistency do not use periods (the US, the UK and the PRC); and especially do not add periods to the other acronyms, as in the U.S., the U.K. and the P.R.C.). The spaced U. S. is never used, nor is the archaic U.S. of A., except in quoted materials. USA and U.S.A. are not used unless quoted or part of a proper name (Team USA).

Thanks for your attention, Sunil060902 (talk) 10:35, 21 February 2008 (UTC)

Hi, I have implemented all of your recommendations, to the best of my knowledge. best, Sunil060902 (talk) 12:44, 22 February 2008 (UTC)

Thanks very much for your message! best, Sunil060902 (talk) 18:03, 23 February 2008 (UTC)

Stuff

If you ever want to work on a Stone Roses article (well, aside from the discography; as an English major I have an aversion to figures and tables) I can help. I mgiht be even able to help with the Zep, if you catch me in the right sort of mood. WesleyDodds (talk) 11:05, 23 February 2008 (UTC)

I own the 33 1/3 book on The Stone Roses. WesleyDodds (talk) 23:25, 23 February 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for the copy edit. What do you think of the article? --Efe (talk) 09:08, 24 February 2008 (UTC)

I actually made that and from my own mouth, I say it was poorly and horribly written. I am poor in descriptive things. Grammars and clarity, at times. Thanks for helping. --Efe (talk) 05:44, 25 February 2008 (UTC)
It even surprised me this morning. My God, additional workload. The process seems bullshit for me. They should wait for the "opposers"'s replies because you copyedited it; it means we are addressing their complaints. I visited their respective talk pages and mentioned what you've done. Arrgh!!!! Anyway, there's so much time to get the star. Yeah, we'll work on it. Hope this one and "Irreplaceable" will surpass the process with positive outcome. Really, thanks for the help. (We met when I participated on Alice in Chains' FAC, I think, hehe.) --Efe (talk) 02:54, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
No. It was on Touch Me I'm Sick. hehe. By the way, "Irreplaceable" is on PR. Hope you'll visit there. Thanks in advance. --Efe (talk) 02:57, 27 February 2008 (UTC)

The Corrs

Hey, I would like to thank you for the copyediting you did in The Corrs. You'd also raised several issues, which I feel that has been addressed now. Please take a look here and leave a comment. Thanks. σмgнgσмg(talk) 05:04, 28 February 2008 (UTC)

Hilary Duff FAC

Most of the sentences pointed out by u have been reworded. I myself am a member of LoCE...thats why i didnt list the article at LoCE....i copyedited the whole article in november 2007 b4 nominating it for GAC which is eventually passed. Some issues raised by u have been addressed. Some observations:

  • The statement about Duff using her pet as fashion accessories is backed by reliable source....but since u felt it was pov, i've reworded the statement as per Wikipedia:Neutral point of view#Attributing and substantiating biased statements.
  • The ghetto statement is relevant becos ghetto is considered somewhat offensive and the comment appeared in a prominent magazine (ELLE magazine). It created a controversy, for which Duff had to clarify her stand later. I guess it is notable enough to be inlcuded in the article.
  • Other sentences pointed out by u have been reworded.

I would be glad if u could review the article again and give some feedback....thanx Gprince007 (talk) 16:54, 1 March 2008 (UTC)

Hello, you commented at the the recently closed FAC for The Last Temptation of Krust. It was closed with 2 comments and one "Support" after 2 weeks, and I'd like to start another FAC for it soon. During the FAC I had left a note on your talkpage that I had done my best to address the points you brought up in your comment at the FAC. Do you feel you could "Support" the article in its current status, if I started another FAC for it? Cirt (talk) 20:11, 1 March 2008 (UTC)

Please let me know when you have finished with your copy-edits that you plan to do on the article and also if you'd like any help with that. Thanks for offering to help out with the article, I'll wait on the next FAC for a week like you said, or until you are finished with your copy-edits. Cirt (talk) 06:16, 3 March 2008 (UTC)

Thankyou

The Reviewers Award The Reviewers Award
I Woody, do hereby give Indopug this reviewers award for all the hard work and excellent reviews you give at the FAC process. They are much appreciated. Thankyou. Woody (talk) 11:22, 7 March 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for the good work, Indopug. Who are the old and new usernames you mention at Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/Opeth? SandyGeorgia (Talk) 18:02, 7 March 2008 (UTC)

No problem, Indopug; I misunderstood your comment on the FAC. I thought you were saying someone else there was using multiple usernames. I completely misunderstood; no issue. I just don't want a repeat of Alice in Chains, that drug on forever because the nominator wouldn't heed concerns. Best regards, SandyGeorgia (Talk) 17:20, 8 March 2008 (UTC)

because the nominator wouldn't heed concerns, ouch! Anyway, are you not busy? Would you please see this peer review? Thanks. --Efe (talk) 09:32, 11 March 2008 (UTC)

If you ever have a free time and wants to review the article, please direct to its talk page. The peer review process was already closed. Thanks. --Efe (talk) 08:34, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
Like GA, LoCE is currently overwhelmed with backlog, making Gimme More's request to be copyedited on the queue for a long time. But anyway, I will try if any of the users I reached out, including you, are still busy. --Efe (talk) 11:45, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
hello. I just got assistance from user:LuciferMorgan and it was great. Just let me know if there are still prose problems of the article. Thanks. --Efe (talk) 10:37, 15 March 2008 (UTC)

Caps at FAC

Indopug, pls add your sig file to the actual cap description when you cap (see other caps that contain a sig), so I know comments were capped by you, and not someone else. Also, the black color makes it very hard to see the hide/show button. If I don't see your sig in the cap, I have to step back through the diffs to make sure it was you that hid your own comments, and not someone else. SandyGeorgia (Talk) 19:05, 15 March 2008 (UTC)
