Welcome to Wikipedia!

Welcome to Wikipedia, Indium/Archive1! I'm Celestianpower. I noticed that you were new and/or have yet to receive any messages so I just thought I'd pop in to say "hello". Hello. Wikipedia can be a little intimidating at first, since it's so big but we won't bite so Be Bold and get what you know down in microchips! If you do make a mistake, that's fine, we'll assume good faith and just correct you: it'll take a few seconds maximum! Here, however, are a few links to get you started:

There are lots of policies and guidelines to get to grips with but they all make your life easier and your stay more fun in the long run. If you have any questions, feel free to leave me a message on my talk page or add {{helpme}} to your userpage - someone will come very, very quickly to your aid. Please be sure to sign your posts on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~) to produce your name and the current date, along with a link to your user page. This way, others know when you left a message and how to find you. It's easier than having to type out your name, right? ;)

I hope you enjoy contributing to Wikipedia. We can use all the help we can get! Have a great time, all the best, sayonara and good luck! --Celestianpower hablamé 16:15, 20 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Merging?[edit]

Hi there! You mentioned on WP:AFD that you didn't know if it was permissible to merge articles without voting on it first. The very short answer is that yes, it is. Please take a look at Wikipedia:Merge and WP:BOLD, and if you think that by merging you can make the information more accessible, please do so! Yours, Radiant_>|< 12:00, 29 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I believe that was cleared up by another user on the corresponding page, and I thank you for your concern with helping others. Indium 08:02, 30 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome message[edit]

Thanks for telling me that. I'll fix it now.--May the Force be with you! Shreshth91($ |-| r 3 $ |-| t |-|) 09:20, 30 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I think you're biting a newbie here: User:82.28.176.201's edits are messy, but appear to be genuine. Hudswell Clarke for instance is a real locomotive manufacturer. Rd232 talk 12:15, 30 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

There were other edits much worse than that (seemingly just random characters, which have since been deleted), but thanks for noticing the real ones. Indium 21:40, 30 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, and a few comments[edit]

Hi, I just noticed that you have put a few articles up for speedy deletion. Some of these are not candidates for speedy deletion (eg Nauru House) that would do better with cleanup tags or being sent to AFD instead. When I was looking through your contributions I also saw that when you reverted an edit [1] , you took out some disambiguation link repair work too. This is important, but it can be easy to miss. Good luck and have fun, --Apyule 13:17, 30 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for catching that revert. However, I still believe it was correct at the time to mark all of that user's contributions, since some of them were on the lines of "this building sucks and x is better" etc. Those may have already been deleted by the time you checked.
