How do I change the name of the article from John Boyd Milliner to John Boyd (Milliner)

Please help me with...john_boyd.jpg was deleted from my article John Boyd Milliner. The photograph was taken by me and I am writing the wiki article. Please put the photograph back

The file has been deleted at Wikimedia Commons as a copyright infringement. There is nothing that can be done about that here on English Wikipedia, but if you believe that the deletion was a mistake, you can request restoration of the file on Commons, as explained at commons::Commons:Undeletion requests, but I suggest that before considering doing so you should first consult the Commons administrator who deleted the file, at commons:User talk:Ellin Beltz. 3. I think the quote from John Boyd below should be included as it is very important to the resurgence of millinery in the 1980s: “Mothers would drag in their daughters with long faces shouting ‘God, you’ll look a scream in that!” Then suddenly they all loved it. Diana was our best ambassador for hats and the entire millinery industry owes her a great debt.” John Boyd

File permission problem with File:Portrait of Al Vandenberg Tate Britain London by Garry Rigby 2010.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Portrait of Al Vandenberg Tate Britain London by Garry Rigby 2010.jpg, which you've attributed to http://alvandenberg.com/. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. Your draft article, Draft:Glen Art[edit]

Hello, Indigojones666. It has been over six months since you last edited your WP:AFC draft article submission, entitled "Glen Art".

The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code. Please note that Articles for Creation is not for indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by one of two methods (don't do both): 1) follow the instructions at WP:REFUND/G13, or 2) copy this code: {{subst:Refund/G13|Draft:Glen Art}}, paste it in the edit box at this link, and click "Save page". An administrator will in most cases undelete the submission.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. JMHamo (talk) 13:41, 7 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. John Boyd[edit]

john boyd died Tuesday 19th feb as can be seen here: https://royalcircular.com/2018/02/22/john-boyd-royal-hat-maker-dies/

poor reference[edit]

You have mentioned i have poorly referenced sources (john boyd milliner) - could you please point these out as I wish to offer the best edits possible

Please read WP:RS and WP:42, as well as WP:CITE. Adding content to Wikipedia comes with the responsibility of providing reliable sources to support those claims, as WP:V requires. Chris Troutman (talk) 12:59, 1 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Court - Royal Circular [edit]

The blog regarding John Boyd death (https://royalcircular.com/2018/02/22/john-boyd-royal-hat-maker-dies/) comes from the royal circular which is the official record that lists the engagements carried out by the Monarch of the United Kingdom and the other Commonwealth realms. This is a very respected outlet in the UK and common wealth and the author of this particular news article is much respected. [Several newspapers, magazines, and other news organizations host columns on their web sites that they call blogs. These may be acceptable sources if the writers are professionals]

I think you're getting royalcircular.com confused with Court Circular, which does the things you mention. The latter is a believable source; the former is "powered by WordPress." Chris Troutman (talk) 13:17, 1 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I just spoke to his assistant Sarah Marshall and she has confirmed his death as reported by royalcircular.com

Add to your list of reading WP:TRUTH. I don't care if he actually is dead. Wikipedia needs a reliable source before we claim somebody is dead. If Boyd was all that famous, there will be an obituary published in the newspapers. Chris Troutman (talk) 13:23, 1 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Could you review this while you are here?... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:BRAVEHOUND Its been months!

It is good you are so circumspect. My wife's father Dave Swarbrick was reported dead in the daily Telegraph a few years ago when he was still alive; when he read his own obituary he had a stroke! He is really dead now so it is ok

As far as your draft goes, actually I can't hep you. I used to review drafts but was forced to quit because I tended to stomp on new editors. Months ago I gave up my ability to review drafts. I understand your frustration, though. It's not fun work for the volunteers and many editors get upset when we refuse drafts, which kind of puts us off the task. Sorry. As for people being dead, Rudy Boesch has been declared dead nine times in the past two years. It's true he's old but I have yet to see a newspaper confirming it. The moment I see an obit for Boyd, we'll fix the article, accordingly. Chris Troutman (talk) 16:19, 1 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

You - stomping on new editors - I don't believe it! What gets me is articles like this -https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anne_Pigalle - with no references are still up?

You're welcome to nominate it for deletion. Just be careful if you look too eager. Editors get mad when you send "their articles" to deletion. As for me, I do what I can and step back when I think I should. I know that doesn't help you much. Chris Troutman (talk) 16:48, 1 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Talking of Rudy Boesch, Chuck Yeager is still alive! how do these guys do it?

I fixed it for you. His company's website says he's dead. I'm sorry for the hassle. I'm surprised there hasn't been much coverage of his death since he was so preeminent in his field. Chris Troutman (talk) 15:37, 5 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks Chris. I know strange. Apparently the Times will be running a biography soon

Illustrating Bravehound[edit]

If you happen to be in the local area of this organization, or know someone who is, a photo could really add to your new article. You can upload images to Wikimedia Commons and display them here, but please note the person uploading the image must be the owner of the image. Not "my friend Bob took it and says it's okay", but the actual owner/taker of the photo must upload it. There is a way you can file someone's permission with WP:OTRS but honestly it's a hassle and it's easier just to take your own photo, or ask a friend to personally upload one.

That aside, also please note that per WP:Logo you can upload the logo of the organization under Fair Use. DO NOT label it as "own work" or whatnot, and make sure the logo is no larger than 300px when you upload it. Then just click the form to say "fair use, logo, for this article only, etc" and you can upload an article and paste the code into the infobox of your page.

Nice work, sounds like a great charity, glad to see you've been working here for a few years and enjoyed it! MatthewVanitas (talk) 22:35, 10 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

You'll likely need better references than these for an encyclopedia article about MacDonald (those only mention her in passing without providing any details), but the majority of thesedescriber her as "an opera singer from Arisaig", so "Fiona MacDonald (opera singer)" seems most appropriate. Draft:Fiona MacDonald (fundraiser)[edit]

Your recent item has bben moved to draftspace as it is not ready for publishing in the encyclopedia itself. Biographical articles cannot be accepted without adequate sourcing. Also there is nothing in the item that demonstrates notability. Please also review the guide to article creation and the manual of style. When considered ready, please submit the article for review and please do not move it to mainspace or it may be deleted. Thank you. Eagleash (talk) 11:40, 12 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Mr Eagle (Eagleash), MacDonald is notable for being the founder and CEO of two military charities ~ Bravehound and Glen Art ~ which have helped hundreds of veterans and has raised millions of pounds for said veterans. MacDonald has also brought together many notable people in order to help these people. My very reliable sources are ~ I really don't see how I can make them any better ~ BBC, Telegraph, Scotsman, Confederation of Service Charities, Prime Minister's Office of the United Kingdom, Big Issue, Animal Hero Awards, Jewish News and the National Lottery Good CausesIndigojones666 (talk) 18:21, 1 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Are you joking? Have you seen pages such as https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anne_Pigalle?.. this page has no sources. I have loads of sources for MacDonald ~ All very respectable news organisations. Here date of birth is there. Her importance is starting Glen Art and Bravehound not her singing. Both the charities she started do great work for military veterans. I cannot find very good references for her singing ~ hence I did not include and to reiterate that is not important.Indigojones666 (talk) 16:16, 12 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Glen Art and Bravehound, both of which are on wikipedia would not exist if not for MacDonald. This page had loads of sources. MacDonald has raised millions for military veteransIndigojones666 (talk) 16:41, 12 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

She is a fundraiser ~ the whole point is she does stuff for other people and not for herselfIndigojones666 (talk) 16:45, 12 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

MacDonald is not notable for her singing (there are also not many reliable sources to reference), she is notable for the two military charities she has founded and the millions she has raised for veterans (hundreds of reliable sources such as the BBC, Telegraph, Channel 5, All the Veteran charities etc). MacDonald is notable for all the help she gives to veterans who risked their lives to make our world safe. Why is James Middleton (British businessman) on wiki?.. he makes cakes! I can easily write more about MacDonald but it is not important, it is important what she does.Indigojones666 (talk) 17:43, 12 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Kylie and Angus, Why are these are on wiki?.. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frank_I._Haswell. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I_Lived. What is your criteria? So you two can put whatever you like on wiki but I cannot?Indigojones666 (talk) 17:58, 12 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

My sources are BBC, The Telegraph, Prime Minister's Office UK, The Scotsman, Veterans' Foundation, Big Issue, The Confederation of Service Charities, Irish Independent, Scottish Parliament, Herald Scotland, National Lottery Good Causes, Forces Net. What are your sources? Indigojones666 (talk) 18:47, 12 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Salimfadhley, I believe Fiona MacDonald (fundraiser) now meets all your suggestions. Thank you for your help it was much appreciated. RegardsIndigojones666 (talk) 13:00, 15 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

KylieTastic, you quote this as Major Contribution....

Frank I. Haswell has 6 back links and is notable for nothing at all.

The first source is not trusted by google? "Honorable Frank I. Haswell". mtmemory.org. The second source is not trusted by google? "Montana District Court Judges Frank I. Haswell and Eugene Foot". mtmemory.org. Third link is an invalid URL "Montana District Court Judges Frank I. Haswell and Eugene Foot". mtmemory.org. Well done with the fourthIndigojones666 (talk) 14:08, 15 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The article on Fiona MacDonald has back links to over 30 existing pages on Wikipedia, all of which she is citied in reliable news sources. I cannot reduce them more because this is how much she has done. Indigojones666 (talk) 14:11, 15 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

KylieTastic and AngusW🐶🐶F are allowed to publish complete rubbish on Wikipedia ~ an encyclopaedia and not an extension of Facebook. Please check out their user pages. They both declined my submission within 2 minutes but cannot be bothered to read it now? How are they allowed anywhere near a so called encyclopaedia? They totally undermine this project and give it a bad nameIndigojones666 (talk) 18:26, 15 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

What do you mean ‪Diannaa‬? I have created Al Vandenberg, John Boyd (milliner), Bravehound, Simon Carroll, Glen Art. I understand what is notable, what are reliable sources ~ hence my pages are on wikipedia ~ what is wrong with Fiona MacDonald (Fundraiser). I have no idea what is your problem?Indigojones666 (talk) 15:48, 16 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

How have I infringed copyright? Any photo I upload to wiki i give consent and give up that copyright? I am a photographer ~ https://www.garryrigby.com/ Indigojones666 (talk) 15:50, 16 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I gave consent for wiki to use MY photo of Al Vandenberg, MY photo of John Boyd Milliner, MY photo of Simon Carroll because I care about wikipedia ~ how the F**k do YOU think I undermine wiki?Indigojones666 (talk) 15:56, 16 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Frankly, I have had enough of you and your friends being allowed to publish complete rubbish on wiki ~ this has to stop.Indigojones666 (talk) 19:36, 16 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Just to reiterate, why is MacDonald not on wiki, but your friends KylieTastic and AngusW🐶🐶F are allowed to publish complete rubbish? I have made a list of the rubbish they have done and will send shortly ~ it does not meet what you are asking of me????Indigojones666 (talk) 19:43, 16 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Diannaa, I just spoke to my legal team and stupidity does still work in some states, so well done on thatIndigojones666 (talk) 19:52, 16 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Are you serious? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frank_I._Haswell This is a a joke yes? There are 3 links. 1. https://courts.mt.gov/external/library/docs/judgesbio2.pdf 2. Dead link 3. https://newspaperarchive.com/kalispell-daily-inter-lake-mar-20-1958-p-4/ The person who published this, is a Wikipedia editor and is allowed to publish rubbish. Sorry, I forgot that… You are so full of s**t. I have created 5 articles for wiki, and everyone is backed by reliable sources… simon carroll, al vandenberg, bravehound, john boyd and glen art. I have/had a relationship with every article I have created for wikipedia ~ And? I have not been paid for these articles. Indigojones666 (talk) 00:55, 19 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I do not need to be told how to write an article for wiki as I have 5 published already. I would like to know why this is allowed ~ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frank_I._Haswell ~ and not Fiona?Indigojones666 (talk) 01:06, 19 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

FYI ~ I have just spoken to Fiona and she does not even want a page on Wiki ~ I just want to show how full of s**t you are. Wiki editors are allowed to publish complete rubbish but I am not allowed to publish a page of a person with verified notoriety. Shall I give you more examples of wiki editors who are allowed to publish complete rubbish? Its a very long listIndigojones666 (talk) 01:20, 19 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

And just to reiterate, I have told you who I am: https://www.garryrigby.com and https://www.hardy.global WHO ARE YOU?Indigojones666 (talk) 01:28, 19 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The article ~ Fiona MacDonald ~ has these big banners saying… “A major contributor to this article appears to have a close connection with its subject.” “This article may have been created or edited in return for undisclosed payments” How do you know this? Because I told you.

Hey, lets look at my bank account and all the articles your editors publish on wiki.Indigojones666 (talk) 01:56, 19 December 2021 (UTC) You are so fucking stupid I can’t wait… GoIndigojones666 (talk) 02:02, 19 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
