Vegans and fungi[edit]

Yes, 'real' vegans do eat fungi. The strict vegetarians in india are generally interested in yogic or yogic-related things and they do not eat fungi because of a belief (i may be misstating it but whatevs) that mushrooms stimulate the 'static force' in your mind (which disrupts meditation) and because they grow in dead matter that they are somehow toxic. Kellen T 15:08, 17 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, a lot of people think fungi is nasty anyways (even vegans) so they won't eat it for that reason.Bakaman%% 16:02, 31 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I've given both Cripipper (talk · contribs) and Red aRRow (talk · contribs) 3RR warnings. If either of them breaks it again, I'll apply appropriate blocks. However, you should refrain from violating that by yourself as well; 3RR violation can ONLY be tolerated in case of clear vandalisms. Unspecified source for Image:PakSurrender.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:PakSurrender.jpg. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. User:Angr 08:07, 3 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

pictures for operation Gibraltar[edit]

Tell the Pakistani army you wrote a NPOV article on wikipedia and you need pictures. Here is a gallery, if something is suitable send them the url and ask directly for it. http://www.pakistanidefence.com/images/Army_Pics/Army_Reg_Forces_Gallery.htm or browse their homepage for some more (for example intelligence, air force, special units, etc.) some pictures are look funny.

And of course you can ask these guys: http://indianarmy.nic.in/ (take a bit longer to download) If one of them gives you pictures and the other does not, tell them the other did and you can be deadcertain they find a solution.

The reason I removed the text at 2006 Israel-Lebanon conflict is because much of it is redundant. The exception is the Arens quote (which was duplicated after your restoration); I'm of the opinion that it is merely being included as a counterweight to the Olmert quote, when while he is a notable person, he isn't at the stature of either independent analyst or leader such as Nasrallah, Bush or Olmert. The only reason I can currently see for his inclusion would be as some sort of representative of internal Israeli dissent, though again, in such a concise piece, I think it borders on OR to directly cite his OpEd, and again without outside documentation of his claims' notability in the general milieu of Israeli opinion. Please let me know what you think (and at minimum, I think a removal of what I described as redundant would be reasonable, though I could be wrong, and if you think so, let me know of that too ). License tagging for Image:Kashmir treaty.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Kashmir treaty.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Please refrain from undoing other people's edits repeatedly. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia under the three-revert rule, which states that nobody may revert a single page more than three times in 24 hours. (Note: this also means editing the page to reinsert an old edit. If the effect of your actions is to revert back, it qualifies as a revert.) Indian Naming Conventions[edit]

Please note that the Indian Naming conventions are different. The son's name is written first and then only the father's name (or surname) is written. Hence the Correct name will be Karunanidhi Muthuvel and not what you have corrected. In fact this is a name Kalaignar never uses. Indian always write their name as M.Karunanidhi.  Doctor Bruno  02:28, 13 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

In response[edit]

Your sources for citing his status as an ace are private and often known to be biased. He has yet to proclaimed an ace by any government or respectable source, unless that's done there will be no good source providing information on the subject. If there is one then I suggest you find it, and put it here, but as a wikipeidan I must ask you to stop using Wikipedia as a soapbox and posting your own unsourced POVs here. This is not a place for original research. As for the "Indian govt. puts it down to four kills" part, it's imagination too, never happened. If you believe it did then perheps you'll get the proper citations this time.

Good luck. Meanwhile refer to Wikipedia:Reliable sources as well. Happy editing.Freedom skies 11:10, 24 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You mean private Indian websites and private Pakistani websites. Alibaba is listed in both of them too, should we nominate him as a flying ace then ?? Did you even read Wikipedia:Reliable sourcesFreedom skies 11:21, 24 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Not quite, the pro-ace accounts are all Pakistani private websites. A real ace would have clinched a Nishan e Haider not some nominal honor. It would be helpful if you pointed me towards a Govt of India, Govt, of Pakistan or a BBC report instead of private Pakistani websites. Freedom skies 11:38, 24 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

If you source it according to official Wikipedia policy as mentioned in Wikipedia:Reliable sources then I have no problem. But somehow I have the idea that your sources don't qualify. Freedom skies 11:43, 24 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I changed the Muhammad Mahmood Alam article to what we do know for sure. Take a look. Freedom skies 19:01, 24 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent edit introduced the phrase "According to the PAF, he had five confirmed kills". Which is well and good, but why isn't it sourced? You do provide sources, but none of them are reliable by themselves, so even when they state that PAF claims 5 victories (and their details as in the list given), we cannot give it as a fact. And none of the sources give any reliable source (e.g. an official publication of PAF) which we could use. So, as it is, I have to agree with User:Freedom skies that your version of the article does not conform to Wikipedia:Reliable sources policy. -- int19h 09:53, 25 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

One other thing... you wrote: "I had to involve another Pakistani editor as I don't want this to become a propaganda writeup". If you do not want a propaganda writeup, the best thing to do is to involve more neutral editors, not more editors who are biased (or who can be perceived to be biased because of their background). -- int19h 09:53, 25 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

MM Alam[edit]

After going out of the way to communicate about the changes that I made and meeting a Pakistani puppet as a response, I should'nt be even posting here.

Answer these questions and you might have a start on pushing the pro-Pakistan POV:-

Where does the "Pakistani government" claim that he is an ace ?? where does the "Indian government" claim that he is one ?? where are the "US govt." or the "BBC" reports on this ?? Did the "Doordarshan" cover him ?? any respectable media at all ?? anything other than private websites ?? ??

He was'nt awarded a mere Sitara-e-jurrat for his ace kills, that was just due to his actions as a pilot. Ace kills would have been good for a Nishan-e-Haider and national, if not global, spotlight. Both the Nishan-e-Haider and any coverage by any respectable media in existence is missing.

Before you go playing Mir Sadiq to your country or playing David Irving to wikipedia next time, make sure you have the sources to back your claims. Freedom skies 10:16, 25 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe better sources need to be added there? Also Youtube has a new video on kargil POWs interviews. I will count the prisoners there and update jaiiaf 12:31, 1 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, now I understand it better. The indian pows we got were named Jagsir and Mohd Arif [3] But these guys went missing in Sept 1999 [4] , which is much after the kargil war, but since it was close to it, everyone is refering them as POW from kargil. If we are mentioning them, we should also mention that they were held POWs for five years without them informing india. But I do have a vague memory of another two jawans who were repatriated by Pak, either in 1999 or in 2000. jaiiaf 15:27, 1 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Image:Army buffalo.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Army buffalo.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. I am being attacked and "ganged up" on by other editors before I ever have gotten started. This is not fair. Please help. Add info to the Vegetarianism article and the Vegetarianism Nutrition article as well. Just click on right side (edit) and copy then simply paste in appropriate place in relevant articles. Thank you so much!

Protein deficiency from vegetable sources of protein[edit]

Vegetarians could develop a protein deficiency due to the lack of protein quality obtained from vegetable sources for the requirement of protein utilization in humans to meet nitrogen balance daily.[1][2][3][4]

pl don't vandalise[edit]

the operation did meet it objectives e.g razoring the compound. So it must be turned a victory for the anti-taliban side.So let it reamin their last victory. Yousaf465

Vegetarian soy protein concerns[edit]

Soybean isoflavones (isoflavonoids) genistein and daidzein are the primary sources of phytoestrogens in the human diet. Due to this high phytoestrogen content, some studies suggest that soy may not be safe for dietary consumption.[5][6][7][8][9][10][11][12]

Additionally, the increased use of soy in western food products brings an increased risk of allergic reactions to products containing the substance.[13][14][15][16]

It has been suggested that eating 35+ grams of soy per day (10 grams over the amount recommended by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration) could be a cause of thyroid function suppression in healthy adults.[17]

Research examining the validity of claims regarding soy and health has stated that soy consumption may not have the beneficial health effects claimed by some groups.[18]

Do you think Wizardry Dragon is abusing VP2 by reverting perfectly legitimate edits and accusing other editors of vandalism? I am discussing the problem with him here. Beit Or 17:17, 5 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Martial Race[edit]

Martial Race can you not get into a revert war with me as you have clearly miss-cited your sources and you're in error, I would request you not revert back to your version. You can improve on the edits I have already made, but don't revert back as those citations you gave earlier in the article are wrong there as I have looked this up. If you knowgily keep miss citation sources then I will have to take further action against you. thanks. --StreetScholar 14:27, 7 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop. If you continue to vandalize pages, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Do not remove tags I add to the article until it has been mediated, its considered vandalism. --StreetScholar 19:26, 7 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Your comments on User talk:Wizardry Dragon re VP2[edit]

Hi, I spotted your comments on Wizardry Dragons talk page. I feel that they are uncivil and unhelpful, please refer to WP:CIVIL and please try to avoid leaving these type of comments on user pages in future. If you are unhappy about a content dispute, then Arbitration is the way forward, not calling a VP2 user a "loose cannon" and certainly not engaging in edit wars with the user(s) you're in dispute with and bringing in additional editors who are happy to support your point of view. Kind Regards - Heligoland | File:Heligoland sigpic.png | Talk | | Contribs 20:56, 7 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I have stepped into this conversation per StreetScholar's request, and my comments can be seen at Talk:Martial_Race. Cheers. -- Merope 21:01, 7 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I have added the article to my watchlist. Street Scholar is disputing very well refernced facts. I definitely see that the factual accuracy tags do not belong there. I'll see to it that he does not get to push his POV with repeated tags due to original research. Freedom skies 06:41, 8 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Op Polo[edit]

There is no doubt that guy is making POV edits. I keep reverting as much as I can. Not only is it highly POV his information is rather clumsily organised. I have the page on my watch. and I will rv it everytime i see it unless he makes a significant and proper contribution to the page.

You should watch that article as User:Tigeroo just reverted your edits.Hkelkar 09:45, 9 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

tour to india[edit]

i'm arrving Insallah at night.Yousaf465 06:28, 10 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

If you can spare the time, I request that you look at some of his edits to Cheema and Raja Sahasi II, where he has been citing what appears to be misrepresented sources to push a certain POV. I see you have had issues with him on Martial Race and it may be connected to his pattern of bias.Hkelkar 12:21, 10 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Image:Spinks Leon.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Spinks Leon.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. --Chowbok 20:48, 10 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Martial races[edit]

Very nice work on both restoring NPOV and expanding the article. I had the article on constant watch and would have stepped in if you were in a tight corner but that did'nt seem to happen at all. Cheers. Freedom skies 09:12, 15 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
