Since there only little information that you have, I can pitch some ideas to you. I managed to find some sources that can get you started with your research. The first link talks about the background of how Ruben was assigned to The Raising of the Cross, and how his past work in Italy influence this painting. Another source that found it talks about a little of everything such as background,media,narrative ect.. I also saw in the beginning of the introduction the definition what is a triptych is sort of wrong, maybe you can have section going into what a triptych is and its purpose in religion art. I hope this helps with research.
