Want to help?[edit]

Hey Hz.tiang, I trust you know about the haze in Singapore right? If you want, you can come and help on this article. I haven't been doing vandal patrolling for almost 2 weeks because I have been busy on that article! You may want to view the article's talk page for some stuff too. Cheers.

Hanna Zayachkivska[edit]

Hi!

I know Anna personally and I have seen her passport. There is two Ukrainian names, Hanna and Anna, and she is Anna (Анна). In her social pages she insisted that she is Anna, not Hanna. Her surname is Zaiachkivska, not Zayachkivska. She is not a model, she consider herself a painter and a singer. http://www.missworld.com/Contestants/Ukraine/ Marina176.98.15.100 (talk) 09:16, 27 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

If that's the case, please change the name on the article and move the article name. Thank you. Hz. tiang 09:17, 27 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Priganik. Your article Priganik Technologies is written like an advert and thus, I'm afraid it is not allowed to be not Wikipedia. You might want to read What Wikipedia is not to understand. If you would like your article to stay on Wikipedia, you will need to fundamentally rewrite it to make it encyclopedic. Hz. tiang 11:23, 28 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry for the late reply. I'm quite busy nowadays. You can put links by placing and around text. For example, to link to the article titled Science I do this: Science Hz. tiang 07:30, 2 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited List of environmental issues, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Conservation (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Test edit at CW?[edit]

No, it wasnt a test, I was adding inportant information for parents looking at CW as a possible treatment. Why was it removed?? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.209.59.70 (talk) 11:07, 29 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Looking at your edit, I realised I've made a mistake. In the future however, please avoid using caps as it very much resembles test edits and vandalism. Nonetheless, I've added back your edit. Sorry about my mistake. heyzec! 11:28, 29 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

WP:PERM Request[edit]

Hi Hz.tiang. After reviewing your request for rollback, I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:

 • Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
 • Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
 • Rollback should never be used to edit war.
 • If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
 • Use common sense.

If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:New admin school/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! — xaosflux Talk 17:16, 29 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,

You have declined the following article http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Dario_Black#Dario_Black_-_Recording_Artist

It says you need reference to verify the information. would this consider reliable source? Please keep in mind artist previous name was Dario Benitez but now he goes by Dario Black

198.72.145.234 (talk) 18:18, 31 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there 198.72.145.234, the first reference should be reliable as it is published by Skope Magazine. The second reference looks unreliable as it appears to be a poster of some sort. I that recommend you read Identifying reliable sources. You might also want to read Whether to create standalone pages.
A little tip to find reliable sources is to use Google News. Use quotation marks ("") like this to let Google list only results that match the term exactly.
If you have further questions you can ask here at my talk page and I will try my best to help. Alternatively, you can ask at the Teahouse and another user will be happy to assist you. Happy editing! heyzec! 04:03, 1 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I notice that you tried to deal with some vandalism there, and I appreciate that. After that, you then restored the vandalism, allowed more vandalism, then made another attempt to fix it, but didn't totally delete all of it. What happened? It looks like you weren't carefully checking the editing history to see what was actually happening. Please do that in the future. Fortunately another editor removed the last traces of vandalism. Otherwise I still appreciate that you did try. -- Brangifer (talk) 07:56, 31 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

When I looked at 72.209.59.70's edit , I assumed it was vandalism and reverted it. 72.209.59.70 left a message on my talk page and I thought I've mistook the edit for vandalism, so I undid my revert. After a while I remembered that 72.209.59.70's edit had caps in it and I manually changed it to lowercase. Now I'm confused; was 72.209.59.70's edit vandalism? Was 72.209.59.70 trolling me by leaving a message on my user talk? heyzec! 08:49, 31 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
If you check the quality of their edit, you'll see they were adding poor quality content that amounts to a form of vandalism/misuse of Wikipedia. Their message to you were the common reactions of a newbie who doesn't understand that we can't allow such content here. -- Brangifer (talk) 15:27, 31 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
In the future if I were encounter another user leaving a similar message, should tell them their edit was not good quality? I worry that this discourages them from editing Wikipedia in the future. heyzec! 04:18, 1 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I understand your concern. It's always a balancing act. We must guard articles from content which violates our policies and guidelines, and yet we must try to not bite newbies, and we have a duty to explain why we can't accept their edits. If you have the time, give them a few links, a welcome template, and/or an explanation. They need to understand that unsourced opinions are not allowed. -- Brangifer (talk) 05:59, 1 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I see. Thank you for spending your valuable time to answer my question! heyzec! 06:03, 1 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
You are very welcome, and Happy New Year! -- Brangifer (talk) 06:09, 1 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Using font tags in your signature[edit]

Hello there! I'm working on a project trying to bring most of the coding on Wikipedia up to the most current standards (HTML5), and I noticed that your signature is using <font>...</font> tags which were deprecated in HTML 4.0 Transitional, marked as invalid in 4.0 Strict, and are not part of HTML5 at all. I'd love to help you update your signature to use newer code, and if you're interested, I suggest replacing:

<font color="blue" size="3px">hey</font><font color="green" size="3px">zec!</font>

with:

<b style="color:blue;font-size:medium">hey</b><b style="color:green;font-size:medium">zec!</b>

which will result in a 135 character long signature with an appearance of: heyzec!compared to your existing 135 character long signature of: heyzec! — Either way. Happy editing! Darylgolden(talk) 06:36, 1 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I've changed my signiture. I'm still curious, though, why is there a need to change the coding? Wiki markup uses to make words bold, while HTML5 uses <b>. Doesn't that mean for your project you would have to change the Wiki markup used by Wikipedia and its sister projects, as well as all the articles in Wikipedia? heyzec! 06:44, 1 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
No, the main thing I wanted to change was the font tags, which was deprecated in HTML 5. The is perfectly fine, I just changed it to shorten your signature, since there's no point having <span style=whatever stuff>bold things</span> when you can combine the span and the into b style. Thanks, and happy new year from a fellow Singaporean! Darylgolden(talk) 06:52, 1 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Request on 04:26:55, 2 January 2015 for assistance on AfC submission by Chazhardy[edit]

You and Matthew V. have reviewed my article on Walter Russell, and neither of you "get it". I am aware that there has been an article on Russell for nine years, that's why I am writing a replacement. If you cannot accept my sources or the fact that Russell is "notable" by any criteria, then delete the Russell entry. The present article is inaccurate, defamatory, and injurious, and an insult to Russell's students. I am outraged at the arrogance of Wikipedia's "editors". Thanks for replying so promptly.Chazhardy (talk) 04:26, 2 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Chazhardy (talk) 04:26, 2 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Good evening Hz.tiang,

May I ask you how many sculptures you have cast in bronze? How many oil paintings you have done? How many co-operative apartments you have built? How many concepts of the Universe have you written about? How many elements and isotopes you have discovered?

How then can you say that Walter Russell's notability has to be proven? The list of his accomplishments is self-evident. You don't need some professor with a list of degrees to pronounce Russell notable or not. My replacement article for Walter Russell makes his accomplishments known, I have included all the secondary sources I can. Russell is unconventional, he is not an academic but a self-made man. Read my article again. I have tried to provide a bare bones treatment so others can insert additional material. I think the article is a vast improvement over the article that has been there for nine years.Chazhardy (talk) 04:42, 2 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there Chazhardy. When one make a claim, one will have to show the proof of his work. Similarly in Wikipedia, you need to have the proof to support your claims. You need the proof to show how Walter Russell is notable.
Looking at your article, I see that you have sources but you have not citied them correctly. Do take a look at Referencing for beginners to cite your sources properly. Inline citations like this[1] should appear in your article.
Also, your article needs to be broken down into sections. Without proper sectioning, readers will not be able to find the information they want quickly from your article.
Lastly, do note that article Walter Russell has been on Wikipedia for quite some time. I strongly recommend you to edit Walter Russell. Replacing an article entirely can be a waste of time and effort. heyzec! 16:47, 2 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Request on 10:03:02, 19 January 2015 for assistance on AfC submission by 49.207.29.26[edit]

Regarding: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:The_Dollar_Business

I added a new reference in the draft page. But after reviewing, you said " No change from previous decline."

Can you elaborate please?

49.207.29.26 (talk) 10:03, 19 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there. I see that you have made an edit, referencing to another Wikipedia article. This is discouraged, and instead you should reference to the citation listed on the Wikipedia article itself.
Secondly, adding one or two references alone is not enough for your article to be accepted. Also, please look at the comments that other editors have provided on your article as the are more issues in your article, such as not using neutral point of view. Thanks! heyzec! 10:18, 19 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Please be more careful when reviewing AfC drafts such as Draft:American Business and Technology University. I can't say that I have lots of experience in this area, hence why I did not outright accept it, but keep in mind WP:SCHOOLOUTCOMES- declining as non-notable certainly wasn't the best course of action. Cheers, --L235 (talk) As a courtesy, please ping me when replying. 21:24, 1 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I'm also relatively new to AfC. When I decline a draft under notability, the message that appears to the draft creator will be:
This submission's references do not adequately show the subject's notability—see the guidelines on the notability of organizations and companies and the golden rule.
I believe that just means the draft does not show the subject's notability, which does not necessarily mean that the subject is not notable. Anyway, I googled for the university and it does not seem to have much coverage. I'm not very sure if I'm correct though... heyzec! 13:02, 3 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the reply. I am aware of the messages left by AFCH/etc. Even if not much coverage is found, per WP:SCHOOLOUTCOMES any accredited degree-awarding institution is notable if it can be proven to exist. Cheers, --L235 (talk) As a courtesy, please ping me when replying. 17:06, 3 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
