VfD delisting

Hi Hydnjo, to answer your questions: first of all, the Virtual piano page apparently was never listed on VfD correctly: there is no link on Wikipedia:Votes for deletion to its subpage, so no one would ever have noticed its existence (how did you find it, by the way? I saw it going by this morning on Recent Changes). The normal policy is to list something for five days Wikipedia:Deletion_policy#Unlisting_a_page_from_VfD at which time an administrator makes a decision based on consensus. It sure looks to me like we have consensus to keep the page under a new title. I'm a brand-new admin (as of two days ago) and have never done this; guess now's as good a time to learn as any.  :-) Oh, and anyone can move a page -- click the "move this page" link, and it leaves a redirect behind at the old page name. Regarding the links, they do not change by themselves (this can be one of the most time-consuming tasks related to page moves). Usually leaving links as redirects is OK, but in this case the new article name is so different from the old that manual changing is probably in order. Hi Hydnjo, I noticed your comment on Kim Bruning's page and thought I'd drop you a line. One, it looks like you inserted your comment in the middle of Kevin Rector's comments. In general, it's best to add your section at the bottom of the page. While occasionally it makes sense to respond to individual sentences or paragraphs of a comment, it's probably better not to insert a new section heading with in it. I hope you don't mind if I rearrange the sections to restore his comment. Regarding User:SPUI, I think that's unlikely. He has a quirky sense of humor, and added that himself (you'll also notice that he's listed himself as a suspected sockpupper of Jesus and of SPUI/jajaja). Actually, "SPUI" stands for "Single Point Urban Interchange"—SPUI is interested in roads and transportation, as you'll no doubt notice from his userpage. I agree with Knowlege Seeker (Thanks for fielding the question! And my talk page is public, so I don't think you're eavesdropping :-)). Hmmm, even if SPUI were a sockpuppet of Sollog, it still wouldn't matter I think. As long as SPUI acts like, well, SPUI, (and that's good behaviour), there's no way to be able to tell the difference anyway, so the (modified) turing test says we should just treat him as SPUI. ;-) Kim Bruning 11:14, 14 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Yeah, right, thinking deeply about it, I'm sure it isn't worth to really care about twenty or 20, but, again, it is one of the many things that have to be re written on help and rules of [the great] Wikipedia. Ah, yes. I fixed the bottom octave again (oops) and removed the dashes as well, since C-1 is different from C1 (C-1 is one octave below C0, C1 one octave above).

B♭7 certainly looks nicer than Bb7, and a lot of music editors prefer this notation. Unfortunately it doesn't display on all computers, which is the only reason I don't use it myself (I'm not sure if it is a font or Unicode issue or what).

As of rules for using flats versus sharps, there is no actual rule; it looks like flats and sharps are equally balanced in this one, so F#, C#, Bb, Eb, Ab rather than all sharps or all flats. It might be better to label the black keys F#/Gb, C#/Db to avoid the confusion.

Piano key frequencies

I'm not sure exactly what you want it to look like, but you can adjust the width of each column. You can put a percentage on each cell, like this:

| width=25% | first cell contents || width=50% | second cell contents || width=25% | third cell contents

which will look like this:

first cell contents

second cell contents

third cell contents

The percent is in relation to the table width. You can instead specify an exact width in pixels, like width=250.

Nope, not really, my point was that User talk:<username>/foo is only appropriate if it's a discussion of User:<username>/foo.
