Welcome![edit]

Hello, HughMorris15, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of your recent edits to the page Ruta Gedmintas has not conformed to Wikipedia's verifiability policy, and has been or will be removed. Wikipedia articles should refer only to facts and interpretations that have been stated in print or on reputable websites or in other media. Always remember to provide a reliable source for quotations and for any material that is likely to be challenged, or it may be removed. Wikipedia also has a related policy against including original research in articles. Additionally, all new biographies of living people must contain at least one reliable source.

If you are stuck and looking for help, please see the guide for citing sources or come to the new contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. We welcome and appreciate your contributions, but we cannot accept original research. Original research refers to material—such as facts, allegations, and ideas—for which no reliable, published sources exist; it also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. Thank you. Snuggums (talk / edits) 14:13, 17 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Please slow down with your edits to WP:FILMOGRAPHY tables until you've actually reviewed the guideline so you have better idea of what you should be doing. I would also encourage you to perform your edits to Filmography tables (which have been problematic) separately from your edits to article text (which have looked OK to me upon a very quick perusal) so you have a lesser portion of your work reverted – in other words, if you do your revisions in small chunks over more edits, it might work to your benefit. Finally, you should also review some other guidelines such as WP:DATERANGE and WP:OVERLINK. --IJBall (contribstalk) 04:40, 26 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

You were warned, and yet you continue to make edits that ignore guidelines. If you keep this up, a block may be in your future. You can avoid that if you would simply start following Wikipedia guidelines. Continuing to ignore them will not go well for you... --IJBall (contribstalk) 13:29, 28 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
And I notice you are still doing these wrong as of February 12. At this point, I'd strongly urge you to just stay away from editing Filmography tables, as you seem uninterested in learning the relevant guidelines for editing Filmography tables properly. --IJBall (contribstalk) 17:39, 21 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

To Hugh Morris15- Please undo your recent edit to the page on me - Alec Newman. Italicization of wrestling moves[edit]

Please stop italicizing wrestling move names. MOS:TITLE clearly states that italics are inappropriate to apply to move names, and italicization of wrestling moves is not something I can find support for in any style guide (or in WWE's own material) I've checked . That an error is commonly repeated does not make it acceptable. --Xanzzibar (talk) 02:03, 20 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry for intruding in the talk, but while italicizing the real, regular name of a move is inappropriate, italicizing a special name or a nickname for a move is supported by Wikipedia:WikiProject Professional wrestling/Style guide#In wrestling.--EdgarCabreraFariña (talk) 14:09, 13 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom Elections 2016: Voting now open![edit]

"Minor" edits[edit]

I've noticed repeatedly that you make significant changes to articles marking them as minor. Worse, you include an edit summary that reinforces the misrepresentation: "minor format edits". See Douglas Booth. I just reverted your changes to that article. You should only be marking edits as minor if they are indeed minor, e.g., fixing a typo, adding italics, adding a comma, that sort of thing. Otherwise, you should include a descriptive edit summary of what you're actually doing to the article.--Bbb23 (talk) 15:27, 15 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed. How was this edit on Carrie Nation "minor"? And you did a lot more than the edit summary suggests. Please stop checking 'This is a minor edit" unless the edit is actually minor, and please better describe the changes you are making. Stevie is the man! TalkWork 13:11, 25 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Nationality[edit]

Hi, please don't change nationalities of BLPs without any kind of referencing or indeed, even mentioning it in your edit summary. Changing British to English, for example, is very strongly discouraged unless you have a good reason for doing it. Likewise removing "UK" from the infobox – where it is present, there's usually a good reason for it which you may not know about. Thanks, Bretonbanquet (talk) 11:46, 28 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Be careful with your edits – you keep introducing errors, like this [1]. South Yorkshire didn't exist in 1969. If you don't know this stuff, don't edit British place names. My main concern is that you have a long history of people asking you to stop making unsourced changes, using misleading edit summaries, and disregarding the Manual of Style. You have failed to respond to these requests or heed the advice, so this is a preventative block as your edits are largely disruptive. If you continue to ignore these requests after the block, you will be blocked for longer periods of time. A prime example is this edit which you characterize as "reformatted a quote" but in reality you introduced unsourced content, MoS errors, and other issues that required a blanket revert. --Spike Wilbury (talk) 12:52, 25 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
