Information icon Hello, I'm 331dot. I noticed that you recently removed some content from Hainault tube station without explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; I restored the removed content. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks! 331dot (talk) 23:44, 6 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Newbury Park tube station, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear constructive and has been reverted. Please make use of the sandbox if you'd like to experiment with test edits. Thank you. 331dot (talk) 23:49, 6 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Warning icon Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to blank out or remove portions of page content, templates, or other materials from Wikipedia, as you did at Barkingside tube station, you may be blocked from editing. Generalisations[edit]

Please keep articles specific. Atopical generalisations stating that roads can be used by buses, cars, cycles, skaters and/or horseriders are not appropriate to encyclopedic articles. 19:07, 24 May 2014 (UTC)

Walkers[edit]

Hi. I think it's fine to add connections to long-distance paths but I don't see why we need to say they are "for walkers" when you have already given it a "walkers" subheader AND said that it is a "long-distance footpath". The next bit feels like overkill. I hope you can agree and stop adding this. Thanks and best wishes DBaK (talk) 21:58, 25 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

No, we should not pad out our articles on London stations with mentions of every long-distance path that might pass near them. Wikipedia is not a travel guide, but even if it was, the reader wishing to use a long-distance path would not seek through each station article to find one that connected to the path. These rapid additions of the same pieces of trivia to multiple articles, like the breaking of sections into one-line sunsections, are just giving fellow editors the trouble of studying Hopeful2014's contribution history to discover how many articles need cleaning. NebY (talk) 13:43, 26 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Please talk[edit]

Wikipedia's a collaborative project. We build on foundations laid by other editors, we correct each other and we learn from each other. We don't do that, we can't do that, just by editing articles. We have to talk together on article talk pages and on user talk pages, like this one. We also leave edit summaries explaining our edits. @Hopeful2014:,you need to start doing these things. You could be a great contributor to the encyclopedia if you'd talk with other editors about what you're doing, about what needs doing and about what shouldn't be done. If you don't and other editors have to run after you cleaning up, then eventually you'll be seen as a problem, called "disruptive" and even prevented from editing. If you do discuss, you'll be welcomed, you'll be helped, and you'll have the pleasure of seeing other editors building on the foundations you've laid. So please, talk. Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. At least one of your recent edits did not appear to be constructive and has been reverted or removed. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at the welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make some test edits, please use the sandbox for that. Thank you. By re-making the same edits (to e.g. Royal Victoria DLR station and North Greenwich tube station) that others have previously reverted, you are clearly ignoring the advice previously offered on this page. --Redrose64 (talk) 21:48, 29 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Guidance on links[edit]

We don't wikilink words and terms in section headers. Indeed, we take care to avoid confronting the reader with a sea of blue links. Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Linking is worth reading, most particularly WP:LINKSTYLE and WP:OVERLINK. NebY (talk) 17:08, 1 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article 2018 Bow stabbing has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

wikipedia is WP:NOTNEWS. Too early to say if this incident will have a lasting notability.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. noq (talk) 18:13, 19 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of Galvanisers Union[edit]

Hello Hopeful2014,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Galvanisers Union for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly indicate why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.

Hello Hopeful2014. If you continue to make mass changes from 'Byzantine' to 'Roman' you will most likely be blocked. Unblocked Request[edit]

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Hopeful2014 (block logactive blocksglobal blockscontribsdeleted contribsfilter logcreation logchange block settingsunblockcheckuser (log))

Request reason:

I would love to be unblocked and be permitted to resume editing again in a respectful manner and start anew, I have reviewed the Wikipedia terms and conditions and gained an understanding on why I was blocked in the first place. I feel like I should be unblocked as I have learned what I did was a truly wrong and a mistake and harmful. Trying to edit while blocked was an mistake and also copying rights editing is not allowed on here and I now know that this was all an error and poor judgement and I am sorry for this. I also now understand also that speaking with other users is the best way forward. I really do promise not to do so again. I feel like I could if I was unblocked followed the rules be able to be a good editor and contribute to Wikipedia and improve on articles, the main focus if unblocked would be London based. I would not vandalised and abuse Wikipedia as has done before and explain each edit each time.

I will respect if the final decision is no and will move on from Wikipedia for good if this is the case and outcome. Hopeful2014 (talk) 22:16, 2 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

You were using a confirmed sockpuppet just a couple days ago! Read the standard offer and follow that. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 00:27, 3 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Sockpuppet investigation[edit]

An editor has opened an investigation into sockpuppetry by you. Sockpuppetry is the use of more than one Wikipedia account in a manner that contravenes community policy. The investigation is being held at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Hopeful2014, where the editor who opened the investigation has presented their evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with the guide to responding to investigations, and then feel free to offer your own evidence or to submit comments that you wish to be considered by the Wikipedia administrator who decides the result of the investigation. If you have been using multiple accounts (in a manner contrary to Wikipedia policy), please go to the investigation page and verify that now. Leniency is usually shown to those who promise not to do so again, or who did so unwittingly, but the abuse of multiple accounts is taken very seriously by the Wikipedia community.
