List of Chinese Americans

Hi, this is a courtesy message to let you know I've undone some of your changes. I noticed you removed Tyson Beckford from the list of Chinese Americans. I undid your change because he is in fact part Chinese. I also noticed you removed Ching Ho Cheng. You didn't leave a comment for that and his article does show notability so I've also undone your edit there. Transcendence (talk) 18:36, 5 March 2013 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (File:KwaiTsing D.gif)

Thanks for uploading File:KwaiTsing D.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. Hong Kong

Greetings Mr Hong.I am here because of many reasons but the main reason is that you've deleted many images on the Hong Kong page. I understand your intention and I appreciate your help with the article. Everyone tries to improve articles he/she is intersted in, and I see you've been paying attention to this page a lot recently. You've deleted many relevant images on the page like the July march which signifies the importance of human rights and the freedom to express yourself in Hong Kong etc. There are many more. I am discussing this with you because I don't want to undo many of your edits without you knowing. I will re-add the 4 British colonial flags to the British Colonial Era session but of course, I will write up a paragraph explaining the importance of the different coat of arms on the flags and what they represent as I feel that each and every one of them has a different meaning and together they show the growth of the colony from some fishing villages to a proper crown colony and later, a dependent territory. It was a glittering jewel in the Crown of the British Empire.Anyway, please fell free to talk everything out with me and please do not do any more significant changes to the article before we've had our little chat. Oh and I don't intend to have an argument with you sir. Cheers. Knight of Gloucestershire (talk) 17:49, 17 July 2013 (UTC)

My removal of the images mostly have to do with the fact that there are so many of them that they are moved down to sections of the article where they don't belong. I agree that those images are relevant, but I don't think there's enough space for them.
  • If the Human Rights section was bigger, I would have no problem with adding an image to it. But consider adding that image to Human rights in Hong Kong.
  • As for the British colonial flags, they are more appropriate in the History sections than the Military section. In fact, I think the lengthy discussion of the British forces in the content of that section is irrelevant, because well, British forces are not garrisoned there anymore. If or when I find the time, I would like to edit that section to be mainly about the current situation of Chinese forces being garrisoned in Hong Kong. Discussion of British military should be in articles like Royal Hong Kong Regiment or British Forces Overseas Hong Kong, or articles on colonial Hong Kong history. Anything outside of the History sections should be content about how things currently are in Hong Kong. Hong Qi Gong (Talk - Contribs) 18:41, 17 July 2013 (UTC)
Hi. I'd say we pick the ones we need and size them down. If not, we can always elongate the relevant paragraphs. Fot the military section, the paragraph can stay, just some minor editing will do. The information about the PLA garrison can be written under the current paragraph and it'll be much appreciated. As for the British Colonial Flags, they will go into the history section where a paragraph explaining the importance of the different coat of arms on the flags and what they represent will be added. Regards.Knight of Gloucestershire (talk) 03:51, 18 July 2013 (UTC)
I really don't understand why absolutely all those flags need to be in the article unless there is content specifically discussing all those flags. I disagree with adding them back. A picture of protestors waving the last HK colonial flags, I can agree with if we expanded the sections related to those protests to fit in a picture or two. Images in 'Hong Kong'

No offense but do you really think nobody's gonna know what your intention of removing so many images is? 'Too many images and some are irrelevant' is such a stupid reason. This is not 'HongQiGong's Encyclopedia', is it? -- from Andyso(talk page) 07:36, 1 August 2013 (UTC)

Your reversion on Hong Kong

Hi,

I understand why you reverted my edit on Hong Kong, I am disappointed though that you did not also fix East Asia which was the source of my edit. XOttawahitech (talk) 03:54, 9 August 2013 (UTC)

I do not have East Asia bookmarked, and also, there are a lot of edits I would love to make. Unfortunately I have a finite amount of time every day that I can afford to spend here. Hong Qi Gong (Talk - Contribs) 17:08, 9 August 2013 (UTC)
