I've changed the formatting of the citations a bit so they're a little easier for the readers to verify, but I haven't found the need to change much else! - Your edits had quite a few things that needed fixing. To post to all editors who worked on the page, I posted at Education Program talk:Oregon State University/Writing for the Web (Spring 2015). By the way, your "Therefore, it would be appreciated if any edits of the page be saved until after this week has passed." tone was quite snotty and off-putting. Anyone can edit wikipedia. You are certainly wise to mention that you are working on the article as a student project, but you do not WP:OWN an article and should not imply that you do. Luckily, you found one that had recently been through a cleanup of copyright violations and was therefore in rather sad shape. Montanabw(talk) 06:48, 13 May 2015 (UTC)
- Hi Montanabw. I don't think that reading of tone is quite right. If we assume student editors are just like any other new editor, they could just as easily have considered it a polite request. We're both pretty steeped in the norms and practices of the community, so we bristle at "please don't revert" or "must stay up until X". Indeed none of us are under any obligation to acquiesce, and with Wiki Ed supported classes we make it clear that grades should not be contingent upon edits "sticking". But most students who make these requests don't know that (or were told something different) and they're genuinely nervous about their work being messed up in progress. - Fair enough. When I see student projects, I generally fear seeing junk I have to clean up like "the mean badgers" or entire articles erased and replaced with cut and pasted term papers. You can understand why I'd be jumpy. Montanabw(talk) 17:50, 13 May 2015 (UTC)
