November 2017[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Team Bath Buccaneers Hockey Club has been reverted.
Your edit here to Team Bath Buccaneers Hockey Club was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline. The external link(s) you added or changed (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCsZW5YUJ-oM9iXsaC3nAZSg/) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. If the external link you inserted or changed was to a media file (e.g. a sound or video file) on an external server, then note that linking to such files may be subject to Wikipedia's copyright policy, as well as other parts of our external links guideline. If the information you linked to is indeed in violation of copyright, then such information should not be linked to. Please consider using our upload facility to upload a suitable media file, or consider linking to the original.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! --XLinkBot (talk) 20:47, 17 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Managing a conflict of interest[edit]

Information icon Hello, Heberackland. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the page Heber Ackland, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your COI when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Also please note that editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. —C.Fred (talk) 22:10, 17 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Heber Ackland[edit]

Hi there - the Heber Ackland article was deleted by the WP:PROD process. The edit summary was the nominating editor's rationale, not mine. It's nothing personal. GiantSnowman 07:32, 20 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Follow up[edit]

Hi, ok thanks, still unclear why. And it may not be personal but its certainly verging on being defamatory to make that reason public. Not sure why you’re involved - but do you have any advice ? Heberackland (talk) 19:47, 20 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

This might be a good time to point out the general notability guidelines. Right now, the draft relies on a single source: the Royal Navy, the "employer" of the subject. If it were shown that the subject has been written about in depth in multiple reliable sources, then the general notability guidelines would be met, and a move of the article back to main space might be in order. —C.Fred (talk) 20:28, 20 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Ok thanks (talk) useful. The original post from 2004 was actually nothing to do with the navy or iltaty, it was because of an appointment in the Royal Household - and these appointments are commonly listed on Wikipedia. I agree that the naval stuff is by the by. I’m kinda of hoping the original post can be reinstated, but the other stuff removed (I think one of the main problems was that I had to edit out a major erroneous / fabricated edit earlier this year by someone which seems to have caused some of the issues).
