Hello, Happyhans89. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, Project No. 1: A Solar-Powered VW Bus, for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:

  1. edit the page
  2. remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. save the page

Also, be sure to explain why you think the article should be kept in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you don't do so, it may be deleted later anyway.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Swpbtalk 17:12, 16 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Swpbtalk

Thank you so much for the feedback. I just started working on this project a few hours ago and am working to increase the content to meet your criteria for inclusion. I will take the following steps to respond to your proposal for deletion:

  1. edit the page
  2. remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. save the page

Deletion discussion about Project No. 1: A Solar-Powered VW Bus[edit]

I tagged your page for deletion because it did not have appropriate sources to show that the subject is notable enough to be included in an encyclopedia. You removed the deletion tag, but you did not make any improvements to the sources. Consequently, I've tagged the page for the more formal deletion process. I appreciate the thanks on my talk page, but doesn't remove the need to fix the article or get rid of it. Swpbtalk 18:05, 16 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I understand, Swpbtalk. So what types of improvements to the sources are needed? I thought a newspaper and a University Magazine would have been a good place to get started.

The university's magazine or website is not sufficiently independent of the subject to serve as evidence of notability. The Indiana Business Review piece, here, does not mention the subject of the article at all. Wikipedia's general notability guideline calls for "significant" coverage in multiple reliable, independent sources. It is very likely that such sources do not exist for this project. Try not to take it personally. There are many topics which are just not appropriate for encyclopedia articles. As suggested in the deletion discussion, there are other venues online that may be better suited. Swpbtalk 20:25, 16 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
