Sichuan earthquake question

Dear, I would like to know why in your edit of the pressure on the parent of dead children, you cancel the information about a document signed, and that some parents have been threaten when they refuse to sign. these two information seems for me quite important. Thank you for your explanation. Regards, Froggy helps ;-) (talk) 10:41, 31 July 2008 (UTC)

Sorry for not beeing clear enough in my last message: I wrote "The New York Times reported that Chinese official push parents of victime to sign an agreement in which they garanty they will not hold protests about collapsed schools in exchange of money, some parents say they have been threatened to push them to sign" you update it to "It also reported cases in which officials bribed parents to stay quiet and not protest over the deaths of their children"
I think that in your update we loose 2 importants information: a paper has been signed, some people refusing to sign has been threaten by officials. Regards Froggy helps ;-) (talk) 04:14, 2 August 2008 (UTC)
why not write: "It also reported cases in which officials bribed parents to stay quiet and not protest over the deaths of their children, and threaten the parents who refused to sign the agreement. [1]" I think this way it do not increase too much the size of the article and keep this important information, you are welcome to improve the English level >_< Froggy helps ;-) (talk) 06:14, 3 August 2008 (UTC)
what about: "It also reported cases in which officials in exchange of money ask parents to sign a document in which they agree to stay quiet and not protest over the deaths of their children. Some refused to sign and were threaten by these officials. [2]"
the idea is simple: Chinese official ask parents of school victims to sign a document in exchange of money in which say say they will stay quiet and not protest, some parent refused to sign and they were threaten by the Officials. If you have a way to put that in "good" English, you are welcome. Froggy helps ;-) (talk) 06:33, 5 August 2008 (UTC)
I do not think there is a problem of WP:N as in the New York time (famous news paper) they even put a copy of the letter that parent are force to sign [1] and they also provide the english translation [2]. and I really think it is not an important fact that some parents are threat by some official to sign... it is a basic right than to sign agreement with your own will and not threaten... otherwise this agreement could be even cancel in a state rule by law. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Killy-the-frog (talkcontribs) 06:41, 7 August 2008 (UTC)
You propose "It also reported cases in which officials bribed parents to keep quiet about the corruption, though some refused and continued protesting.". They do not bribe them to keep quite about the corruption, but to not protest. and there is not the "threat" information.
Thus I propose: "It also reported cases in which officials ask parents to sign an agreemnt in which they agree to receive money in exchange of not holding protest, some parents refusing to sign have been threaten" —Preceding unsigned comment added by Killy-the-frog (talkcontribs) 13:05, 9 August 2008 (UTC)
usually when their is bribery we do not sign an agreement writing on it how much we get as a bribery and what we will do in exchange... furthermore bribery is offering money in order to gain an illicit advantage, in that the other person break the law... I do not think that not holding a protest is breaking the law... Thus I am not so found of using "bribery". I prefer to write clearly that an agreement is signed, money is given, and people threaten Froggy helps ;-) (talk) 04:13, 10 August 2008 (UTC)
If you are not convinced it is important, I can tell you that this school story has cause lot of talk in China, Chinese people and media were really focus on that until the gov ask the media not to talk about it. Now, I think we should write what is the development of the story. the fact that people have been threatened by official and force not to protest is quite an information that many Chinese will be surprise and interested to learn. Even more when you know that no guilty have officially been found. The source is new york time, so quite reliable. So? Froggy helps ;-) (talk) 05:11, 10 August 2008 (UTC)
English Wikipedia is not made for American, but for the world (and I think this subject interest more Chinese than westerners). I hardly believe there is no notability problems as being threatened by your own government who build this crappy school is still something. The problem with your proposal: "Parents who protested were threatened by officials; while others were given money as an attempt to keep calm" is that you say that the one protesting have been threatened... but the article say the parents who refuse to sign the agreement have been threatened... which is different.
I am a bit tired of discussing about that. Why not put my version, and if other people think it need to be change, then we will see. if other people find it ok. then we keep it. Froggy helps ;-) (talk) 12:22, 10 August 2008 (UTC)

Another proposal, not too long: "To limit protest Officials push parents to sign a document which engage them not to hold protest in exchange of money, some refusing to sign have been threatened" What do you think? Froggy helps ;-) (talk) 04:37, 11 August 2008 (UTC)

you reply: "That makes perfect sense...but I'm having a headache trying to figure out how to revise that in order to makes sure it is grammatically correct, yet still includes all the information. Um" So, I can tell you 加油!!! (=jia you = courage, or go go to encourage, it is what Chinese scream during Olympic game ;-)
If you do not find, better have a not perfect grammar but the essential information, than a perfect grammar but missing key points. Froggy helps ;-) (talk) 10:44, 11 August 2008 (UTC)

At long last: speech!

Hey, sorry I haven't replied until now: I've been on holiday until a few days ago, and although there was Wi-Fi, I tried to have a minibreak from editing Wikipedia while there (although I didn't completely succeed with that sentiment!)

Reply to your previous points:

 1. Hehehe well it looks like you got your wish! Well done. Oh and congrats on getting the Smash Bros article to Featured topic status, if there ever was a cert for that process, that was it.
 2. Ok cool, no deadline then with that. Fair enough.
 3. I'll let you know which article once I've had a bash at it. It's gonna take a lot of hard work on my part, but it's doable, it's just about finding the time, you know?
 4. That's pretty good going.

Okay I thought I'd also ask this since you're a GA/FA whizz: I came across this article just recently, and I liked the look of it, but was surprised to find out it wasn't even a good article, but I think with maybe a little prodding it could be got up to FA status. I made a comment about this on the talk page but haven't had a reply yet, but anyway: any chance you could swing by that article and tell me if you think it needs a lot of work doing to reach GA or FA standard? Don't worry if you're too busy. Personally, I haven't edited the article myself or anything, so it's not something I've been working on like you have with the SSB articles, just it looked good, and a second opinion would be nice to see if my radar is on the right track, and then I get get busy improving it if I can. Thanks in advance. Deamon138 (talk) 02:23, 3 August 2008 (UTC)

That sounds great! Right, I'm gonna have a proper sit down and look at the article later on today, and fix your concerns in the process. Once I've done that I'll nominate it for GAN and let you know of course. Thanks for the help/tips, it's much appreciated! :) Deamon138 (talk) 00:25, 4 August 2008 (UTC)
(Actually I'll do this on THIS today, I was busy on the original today (yesterday) :S) Deamon138 (talk) 01:00, 5 August 2008 (UTC)
Well I reckon I've fixed the two problems you had with the article, and I've fixed a few things I noticed, so I've gone and nominated it for GAN. Hope it succeeds! I guess it's just a question of me watching Talk:Ibn al-Haytham/GA1 now. If you can help it get through GAN when it gets reviewed, that would be great! Deamon138 (talk) 01:06, 6 August 2008 (UTC)
Thanks, I'll be sure to do that! :D Btw, I know nothing about Sozin's Comet: The Final Battle (unless I go and read it) but if you want I can help out when it gets reviewed? Lemme know when it does, I might know zero about the subject, but I reckon I'm a bit of a WikiGnome, so fixing little things is my specialty! Deamon138 (talk) 01:16, 6 August 2008 (UTC)
Hehehe, that could work: I know what TV is! :P Deamon138 (talk) 01:31, 6 August 2008 (UTC)

Well, it looks like you got yourself another GA. Nice lol! Deamon138 (talk) 23:54, 6 August 2008 (UTC)

Nps :D Deamon138 (talk) 00:24, 7 August 2008 (UTC)

Lol, don't complain! Seriously though, I simultaneously discovered that it had gone under review and that it had succeeded! Hope my GAN goes like that.... doubt it though. Deamon138 (talk) 00:31, 7 August 2008 (UTC)

Rau J

I'd say that it could be used on the production section of the third season article. There are even quotes we can use in it. Rau's Speak Page 03:40, 3 August 2008 (UTC)

It's because you can't determine where the climax is without an rs. While I agree that it is probably when Aang is in the Avatar State, we can't prove that. The position of the climax the was it was written was open to your interpretation, your point of view. Rau's Speak Page 05:15, 4 August 2008 (UTC)
Aye, that we will. I love to debate. Rau's Speak Page 18:45, 4 August 2008 (UTC)

As long as you work on the copyediting (I've been here a year and still have no idea what the hell that is) I'll do the tables. Rau's Speak Page 19:20, 6 August 2008 (UTC)

Are you serious? That's crap. I've been doing that for ages. I even do it for the tables sometimes... Rau's Speak Page 19:26, 6 August 2008 (UTC)
Compared to that? It should. I mean, they are all good articles(or at least, two of them were). Rau's Speak Page 19:31, 6 August 2008 (UTC)

You have to qualify? I thought any established editor could do it... Rau's Speak Page 20:00, 10 August 2008 (UTC)

So I can nominate it? Just tell me where to go. Rau's Speak Page 21:53, 10 August 2008 (UTC)
I was wondering that. Perhaps we should wait until the PR is done before nominating. That way it gets the best chance it can. Rau's Speak Page 22:09, 10 August 2008 (UTC)
Ohh. See, I might edit a lot. But I don't get involved in this stuff too often. But, looking at the criteria, I'd say the only possible complaint is the prose. And that in itself is unlikely. Rau's Speak Page 22:16, 10 August 2008 (UTC)
Yes. I think the list is ready. I think it's been ready. Any other complaints can be taken care of during the nomination process. Rau's Speak Page 23:08, 10 August 2008 (UTC)

I've been pretty inactive as well, so I know where your coming from. But I'm forcing myself to be more active that way I can ensure this makes FL! Have fun :] Rau's Speak Page 15:34, 14 August 2008 (UTC)

I have that problem too. It's because the writers are too long for one line, so they break. I removed DiMartino's middle name and made one of the dates one line. It's about the best I can do while keeping it as visually pleasant as possible. Unless of course it's allowed to go off the page? Rau's Speak Page 17:56, 14 August 2008 (UTC)

Yea, that did it. Rau's Speak Page 04:28, 15 August 2008 (UTC)

I know... I tried earlier right after we got it to work. I suppose we could just say "This pilot episode featured blah blah blah" and give maybe fifteen words on it. I'm not too hot with color formatting myself. However, I'm sure one could copy the number color code used in the main list of episodes and apply to the other DVD lists. I'll take a look at it when I get home from work. --Ghostexorcist (talk) 02:41, 7 August 2008 (UTC)

The guidelines for Wikipedia:Peer review ask that editors nominate no more than one article per day (and four total at any one time). While the rules say that one of the requests can be removed, I will let it slide since this is the first time. Take care, Ruhrfisch ><>°° 02:49, 7 August 2008 (UTC)

Again, hi! Optigan13 (talk) 00:48, 11 September 2008 (UTC)

How's this sound?

Gave it a go on the Necrid lead's expansion. I'm still a tiny bit iffy on it, but afraid if I take it further I'll start chomping too much into other sections of the article.--Kung Fu Man (talk) 05:25, 15 September 2008 (UTC)

Alrighty then, thanks for the help on the article. :)--Kung Fu Man (talk) 05:39, 15 September 2008 (UTC)

Hi, sorry to impugn copyviosity on you... the two things that I flagged (missing first name, no explanation of what a WSMBC is) made it look like this might have once been part of a larger piece of prose. Glad to be wrong!

I'd flagged WSMBC because there is no explanation as to what that stands for. I could go out on a limb and guess "Western States Marching Band Competition," but since I don't know this for certain, I thought it was better to ask. That's still missing from the article... .

By the way, do you happen to know which Lincoln High School the article refers to? There are several California Lincoln HS' in WP, but I'm not sure which one this would be, and there appears to no longer be a WBA member by that name.

In any event, the article looks much better with the new material added; nice work. Regards, NapoliRoma (talk) 05:56, 2 October 2008 (UTC)

Fair-use bot malfunction?

Hi, I notice that you reverted an edit on Los Altos, California by FairuseBot removing the LASD logo for inadequate fair-use rationale. This wasn't a malfunction: the image page had been tagged a week previously as a possible fair-use violation, and I tend to agree. The identification of LASD in this article doesn't add much to this article, since the logo really belongs to LASD (where it remains). Do you agree? --Flashcube (talk) 19:59, 5 October 2008 (UTC)

Hi - I see you're still working on this so I'll hold off until tomorrow likely. Speedy deletion of Image:Sozin's comet.png

A tag has been placed on Image:Sozin's comet.png requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I5 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an image which is not under a free license or in the public domain and it has not been used in any article for more than seven days.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding hangon to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. - NuclearWarfare contact meMy work 00:42, 30 November 2008 (UTC)

prop 8 lawsuits

I got impatient, because I'd like to start working on the article specific to the lawsuits to overturn proposition 8, so I created a place for the article and copied some content to it from the Prop 8 piece, with the working title "Lawsuits to Overturn Proposition 8". I am more than happy to rename it if you'd like, but it was definitely time to start fleshing out that article, as well as cutting down how much of that content persists in the main article. Prop 8 reference on Rick Warren article

Hi Haha169. In the discussion on the Rick Warren article, editors have been having a hard time reaching consensus on how to refer to Prop 8. Some prefer to include the point that it restricts marriage to opposite-sex couples AND the point that it eliminates the right to marry for same-sex couples; others prefer to include thhe first point but exclude the second. To facilitate consensus I wrote a framework of seven points on which the editors appear to agree, and three points on which the editors appear to disagree. Today I checked the Prop 8 article to see how editors handled the matter there, and I see that the lead includes both points. As one of the editors who worked on that article, you may be able to help us figure out whether or not to include both points. Would you please contribute to that discussion? Thanks! Proposition 8 Supreme Court Case

The new NPOV sentence isn't unnecessary because a few major news sources noted that the proceedings leaned a certain way, which is pretty interesting. I think it's a valid and informative inclusion. Ah, seems like we are edit conflicting quite a bit! Do you use IRC, by any chance? We can use the project IRC channel (See this) to coordinate; it might help. NuclearWarfare (Talk) 18:11, 15 March 2009 (UTC)

Hi :), I think you must have misread my link for Nevada, as I removed the LGBT rights in Nevada link and replaced it with the Recognition of same-sex unions in Nevada page. I just wanted to clear that up. ;) VoodooIsland (talk) 04:07, 10 April 2009 (UTC)

Nintendo task force membership

If you are not already aware, the Super Smash Bros. task force (formerly WikiForce Super Smash Bros.) has very recently been merged into the Nintendo task force (formerly WikiProject Nintendo). As a result, the memberlist of the old task force has been merged into the Nintendo task force's memberlist. In order to gauge who is still active and willing to participate actively in the Nintendo task force, I have placed all those members under the inactive participants list, which is located below the active participants list at WP:NIN.

If you wish to continue participation as a member of the Nintendo task force, then go to Wikipedia:WikiProject Video games/Nintendo/left panel, remove your entry from the inactive list, and place your entry at the bottom of the active list. If you don't wish to be a member of the Nintendo task force, then simply remove your name from the list. One month from now, on May 16, 2009, all remaining entries on the inactive list will be removed. Thank you, MuZemike 14:56, 16 April 2009 (UTC)

Blue Dragon

Hello, this is User:Gears of War(the editor who put Blue Dragon at GAN the first time)and I have addressed all the problems you talked about and now have put up a Peer Review for Blue Dragon which you can find here. I was wondering if you could please review it and tell me if it's ready for GAN again. Thanks.--Next-Genn-Gamer (Sign) 20:21, 17 April 2009 (UTC)

Okay, I have just nominated Blue Dragon for it's final peer review. In this peer review, I need you to tell me everything that needs to be done to get this ready for FA status. Re: 2008 California elections

The screen resolution is not a problem for me (although I suppose for others it could be). I was referring to the fact that the table is scrunched up because of the image and is a bit harder to read. Uniform row width makes the table easiest to read and the most aesthetically pleasing. While this may not sound like a big deal, keep in mind that the map is not necessary in this particular article: who got the most votes in which countries mean nothing and the map can be viewed at United States presidential election in California, 2008. – Zntrip 06:19, 22 May 2009 (UTC)

Re: Metroid FT

It still needs one more FA before it can be an FT, which I want to do before submitting it. Gary King (talk) 16:49, 2 June 2009 (UTC)

It requires 33% to be FA. Are you taking into account the newly announced games? Gary King (talk) 00:47, 3 June 2009 (UTC)
Why can you omit it if it's a Metroid game...? Gary King (talk) 01:10, 3 June 2009 (UTC)
Like which topic? Preferably a recent one, since those are compared to higher standards typically. Gary King (talk) 17:18, 3 June 2009 (UTC)
If the topic is already featured, then new games are only added when they have been peer reviewed. In the case of an unsubmitted topic, all games, including unreleased, must be included. Gary King (talk) 19:50, 3 June 2009 (UTC)

File:Gavin Newsom Prop 8.jpg is now available on Wikimedia Commons as Commons:File:Gavin Newsom Prop 8.jpg. This is a repository of free media that can be used on all Wikimedia wikis. The image will be deleted from Wikipedia, but this doesn't mean it can't be used anymore. You can embed an image uploaded to Commons like you would an image uploaded to Wikipedia, in this case: . I went ahead and assessed this as B-Class, which is generally the highest rating before GA. I would strongly suggest you request a peer review of the article, and once all the issues have been ironed out, take it to GAN. This is a very good start, so far; keep up the good work! Hi there, you have been one of a number of regular editors at the above article. I was its Good Article reviewer a few months back. In response to a recent proposal to split the article, I suggested it be edited down to a more manageable size and better readability rather than focussing on the split. I suggested the article was not particularly readable in its current form, and suffered from recentism amongst other things. I have just undertaken an edit attempting to implement my suggestion, in the hope that others might have a look and decide it is now in better shape. I hope you will agree. I am happy to discuss on the talk page obviously. hamiltonstone (talk) 12:55, 20 August 2009 (UTC)

Hi there, I was curious how you came to the conclusion "militant homosexual" was a WP violation. Is it the militant part, or homosexual? What about militant gay? Or do you think just gay/homosexual would be less inflamatory ----—Preceding unsigned comment added by Durnian1811 (talkcontribs) 00:50, 30 August 2009

The cited source simply states it was a vandal, so that's all that's actually verifiable. Calling the person anything more would be original research, as well as not being a neutral point of view. --- Barek (talkcontribs) - 00:59, 30 August 2009 (UTC)

Nintendo task force membership update

It's that time again to update membership status with the Nintendo task force, which we try to do every 3-4 months to keep our membership up-to-date.

All participants have been placed on an "Inactive participants" list. To confirm that you're still a member of the Nintendo task force, simply go to Wikipedia:WikiProject Video games/Nintendo#Members and move your name from the "Inactive participants" list to the bottom of the "Active participants" list. If you are no longer an active member in the task force, you may simply remove your name altogether. After 1 month, on October 1, all entries under the "Inactive participants" list will be removed. Hopefully you can stay with us and continue to work on Nintendo-related articles. Regards, MuZemike 17:52, 1 September 2009 (UTC)

Please update your status with WP:VG

Dear WikiProject Video games member,

You are receiving this message because you have either Category:WikiProject Video games members or User WPVG somewhere in your userspace and you have edited Wikipedia in the recent months.

The Video games project has created a member list to provide a clearer picture of its active membership.

All members have currently been placed in the "Inactive" section by default. Please remove your username from the "Inactive" listing and place it under the "Active" listing if you plan on regularly:

Ideally, members are encouraged to do both, but either one meets our criteria of inclusion. Members still listed inactive at the beginning of November 2009 may be removed. You may re-add yourself to the active list at any time. Thank you for your help, and we look forward to working with you.

Another gentle ping from WP:VG

Dear Haha169,

You are receiving this message because either or User WPVG is somewhere in your userspace, and you are currently listed in the "Unknown" section on the project's member list.

The member list is meant to provide a clearer picture of active membership. It is recommended that you update your status if you plan to regularly:

Members listed in the "Unknown" section will be removed from the membership list and category at the end of January 2010. You may re-add yourself to the active list at any time. Thank you for your help, and we look forward to working with you.

Sincerely, the Video Games WikiProject (delivery by xenobot 21:49, 29 December 2009 (UTC)

Extremely minor, but I just wanted to tell you that Opera renders the IAR banner great. Opera tends to be the most standards-compliant browser; when in doubt, just assume Opera does it right. :) —what a crazy random happenstance 11:07, 7 January 2010 (UTC)

Service awards proposal

Master Editor Hello, Haha169/Archive 2! I noticed you display a service award, and would like to invite you to join the discussion over a proposed revamping of the awards.

If you have any opinions on the proposal, please participate in the discussion. Thanks! — the Man in Question (in question) 04:10, 8 January 2010 (UTC)

This may just be momentary, but "This channel is not available." That's a different message displayed from channels which simply don't exist, so I'm not sure what's going on. Has there been an emergency injunction against the broadcast or something along those lines? I haven't seen any media reports to suggest so. It may just have been taken off-line in preparation for the court case, I'm not sure. —what a crazy random happenstance 11:05, 11 January 2010 (UTC)

Never mind, I guess we know what it is now. —what a crazy random happenstance 16:50, 11 January 2010 (UTC)
The test video at this moment is still available. Most likely, the district court is just simply doing some edits to the profile. The Supreme Court has simply stayed the ruling, not exactly having ruled the prospect out. --haha169 (talk) 01:45, 12 January 2010 (UTC)

Avatar Critical reception rewrite

haha169, thanks for your contribution on Avatar. Following yours and some other editors' suggestions, I have proposed a restructured Critical reception section for discussion here, hoping to try and accommodate a deeper and more balanced coverage of the film internationally. A Question for the Ages....

Hello there....I hardly do anything at wikipedia, and am enjoying looking through your pages. QUESTION: Can I send a private message to another user, or is all dialogue done on these open pages? Thank you. Hopefully, should you respond, I will be able to find my Talk Page, or my way back here. Wish me luck. Shall try to add it to the "watch" option (which I have never used, so who knows?) Best wishes Codenamemary (talk) 19:06, 19 February 2010 (UTC)

I have posted a notification on your talk page. You should receive an orange box that will lead you here. I don't know of any way to have private dialogue on Wikipedia without using external tools like email. Also, there is a link to your talk page on the top right corner, "your talk". I hope this helped. --haha169 (talk) 19:36, 19 February 2010 (UTC)
Wow! That was speedy! Thanks :) Okay, I have a dummy yahoo email account that I made once for a fake/humorous religious discussion board....am NOT actually a fanatic, myself! If you yourself have a spare or "throw-away" email account you don't mind corresponding through, I really do have a specific concern of some importance, having to do with an article we've both discussed. You can email me at ________. Have a nice weekend!Codenamemary (talk) 20:00, 19 February 2010 (UTC)
I'm pretty sure that discussions about an article on Wikipedia could be done on open talk pages, as they shouldn't be private in nature. But, yes, I do have a throw-away email and will talk with you. --haha169 (talk) 20:46, 19 February 2010 (UTC)

Correction needed please

Hi, it looks like you created a graphic for List_of_indices_of_freedom, using this as the source-file: Freedom House. A small country, Belize, was given the wrong color (the source says it's in the safest category, green, but it's orange on the map), and I'm not sure how to change it. Thanks for putting it up though, this is only a small mistake. 216.82.194.76 (talk) 13:43, 28 March 2010 (UTC)

Done Thanks for notifying me. :) --haha169 (talk) 17:08, 28 March 2010 (UTC)

sfgate reliable enough in this situation?

I ... I'd have to go back and look, but I thought that what had been discussed a month or so back was whether the SFGate gossip column article (which wasn't this editorial) was reliable enough, not the editorial. I'd personally think the latter was more reliable. But I may have entirely missed the dicussion, whatever the consensus is, I'm good with that. --Joe Decker (talk) 17:18, 31 March 2010 (UTC)

That "defining marriage" quote with the wrong cite

Appears to be from here, but it's not from PM itself, as listed: http://www.protectmarriage.com/testimonials Requoted many places, but I supsect many folks said "hey, it's on the PM site, it's a PM quote." --Joe Decker (talk) 04:50, 28 April 2010 (UTC)

I just know that the previously listed cite was incorrect because the quote even in the article; but did not have much time to go combing for an appropriate citation. However, if you could find the original source (if the source isn't part of the litigation, then we probably should remove the quote altogether) it would be great.--haha169 (talk) 05:04, 28 April 2010 (UTC)
It's not in the PvS hearing transcripts, I just searched the 12 days of them. I'm not sure the quote from the coplantiff is either, though. My guess is that page I gave you is testimonials and the one that that quote came from (which has a name associated with it) was provided to PM as an endorsement for their (fundraising? vote-getting?) In any case, it could easily predate PvS, not sure how I'd tell. I have no problem with the idea of removing it if it's not really pertinent to the trail. --Joe Decker (talk)
If it seems that its not pertinent to the trial, it should probably be removed and replaced, then. It's your call; I'm not really sure myself about the origin of that quote.--haha169 (talk) 05:50, 28 April 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, me either. I'm gonna sleep on it if you don't have a strong opinion. --Joe Decker (talk) 05:52, 28 April 2010 (UTC)
Glad I slept on it, I went and looked around, and ended up leaving it and adding a ref. Protect Marriage's page on the case provides the start of this quotation in a box on the right of the page, that page links to the testimonals page I mentioned earlier for the fuller context of that. Because Protect Marriage appears to be highlighting that quote as the sound byte on their page on PM, it seems like a fair (and sourced) thing to use as being representative of their POV on the issue. I hadn't noticed that the quote was featured on http://www.protectmarriage.com/trial , which is about PvS. With such a controversial issue, it's helpful to be able to make use of a small quotation that was given to readers by PM as a small quotation, it keeps any POVness out of the selection of a particular quote. Anyway, that's my reasoning, but if you're not happy with it, let's talk, you've been working these articles for a long time, and I greatly respect your thoughts and work. Thanks! --Joe Decker (talk) 14:39, 28 April 2010 (UTC)

It's certainly a decent quote, although I would love to have a more representative one of the case itself and not the party's ideological view. For example, I think the plaintiff's quote is really great because it represents their interest to enter the case and a specific example as to what pushed them to file suit. But the PM quote is very abstract and not entirely personal. I think a quote from Pugno about his involvement in the case may be more appropriate, but as of now, we can leave it as is. --haha169 (talk) 03:02, 29 April 2010 (UTC) Yeah. I'll keep my eye out for something like that, I agree with you that Mr. Pugno be the perfect person to get a personal quote from, I think he'd be very representative. --Joe Decker (talk) 05:58, 29 April 2010 (UTC)

Hello, you marked the above article as a copyvio, but I cannot see any obvious pages or references after a bit of Googling to indicate where it's been copied from. Can you give me some more specifics on where it's been taken from (a URL, scan, whatever?). That would help immensely with verification. Lankiveil (speak to me) 03:04, 8 May 2010 (UTC).

[5], the main star wars episode guide is where the trivia and the "moral" section came from. The article's sister on wikia [6] is where the plot came from. --haha169 (talk) 03:27, 8 May 2010 (UTC)
Noted. Wookiepedia is released under the CC-BY-SA licence, so we can use the content here (although it ought to be cited as such somewhere). The rest is clearly based on the other page, so I've scrubbed it. Note that explicitly signposting where stuff has been copied for is really helpful when you put stuff up for CSD G12, as it makes it unnecessary for the admin to have to go and play detective to patch it all together. Lankiveil (speak to me) 04:12, 8 May 2010 (UTC).

Thanks for reordering the opinions, it's much appreciated! Zelse81 (talk) 19:49, 28 June 2010 (UTC)
