Matilda Ziegler

I would like to commend you for your contributions to Matilda Ziegler's Wikipedia article. It's rare to ever see her on TV in Australia and I'm a huge fan of hers. I've only ever seen her in Mr. Bean and very briefly in Sex Traffic (she only had one line in the whole 2-part series). And I caught a very rare clip of the scene where Dot finds her dead in EastEnders (I've never watched the show before).

I'd love to see the episodes of EastEnders which she has starred in as well as her role on the short-lived British sitcom, Swiss Toni. But sadly they don't play any of that stuff here. :-( Sillygostly 05:40, 16 August 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for your reply. Sadly, I've looked all over YouTube, and I've watched as many clips as possible from Matilda Ziegler's reign of the series (1987-1989), but unfortunately I haven't been able to spot her at all. Swiss Toni appears to play at 1am weekly on a cable network in Australia but I don't have cable. Darn. :-p Sillygostly 07:09, 17 August 2006 (UTC)

Botched page creation

Hi you accidentally created Archive 2 in the main article space. I moved it to User talk:Gungadin/Archive 2 for you. Kevin_b_er 21:36, 2 July 2006 (UTC)

Erm. Actually now there's 2 of them. /Archive2 and /Archive 2. You may want to axe one of them. {{Db-owner}} template is the right one I belive to alert the admins to whammy the page. Kevin_b_er 02:13, 3 July 2006 (UTC)

How did you do this one then, clever clogs? Trampikey (talk to me)(contribs) 21:33, 13 July 2006 (UTC)

Copyright violation

You recently added an image to Abi Titmuss that was a copyright violation. The image could only be used for critical commentary about the t.v. show, not to illustrate Ms. Titmuss. --Yamla 14:17, 19 July 2006 (UTC)

You said: "Hi, I've been told by several administrators that it is ok to to include Screenshots from television so long as the show is discussed within the the article. The screenshot is from Celebrity Love Island, which is discussed in the article."

Yes, provided the screenshot is used to illustrate the show in question. Here, it was not attached to that paragraph; instead, the image was being used to depict the person, not the show. It's a subtle distinction but I can provide more information if you wish. --Yamla 14:22, 19 July 2006 (UTC)

You said: "Ok so if I attach the image to the paragraph is it then ok to keep?"

Well, to be totally pedantic, the image would be okay to keep if the image was attached to the paragraph and the image was used to provide critical commentary on the show itself. It is not clear to me that this particular image helps you provide any critical commentary on the show. --Yamla 14:28, 19 July 2006 (UTC)

You said: "ok I have several images from CLI including Abi, any tips on one that you think would provide critical commentry?"

As the article talks about her weight gain during the show, I'd suggest a "before" and "after" picture from the show.  :) --Yamla 14:37, 19 July 2006 (UTC)

You said: "Right, I will upload an after one of her looking chunky. Is the removed one ok to use as a before shot? or would you prefer another one ?"

That looks fine as a before picture. Make a note on the image page itself that you are using this as a "before" picture and that it is fair-use to illustrate her weight gain over the course of the show, specifically discussed in the article itself. Thanks! --Yamla 14:41, 19 July 2006 (UTC)

You said: "Hi Yalma, Ive done what we discussed. Does this look okay now? I havent removed the orphan notes on the first image page. Are they ok to remove now?"

Yeap, looks good! I moved the images down to the paragraph discussing the show. Probably the images could be made to line up better with the paragraph still. But in any case, the images are, I believe, used under fair-use now. Thank you for taking the time to get this right and to please my pedantic objections. This is much appreciated. --Yamla 15:09, 19 July 2006 (UTC)

Maureen Beale

I'm confident that it's just a mistake by Kate Lock. There is another mistake, bt I cna't remember what it is... Maureen could just be the wrong name provided for Dora, or it could be another kid who died, because Dora didn't die, but we should really discuss this on WT:WPEE. Trampikey (talk to me)(contribs) 21:12, 7 August 2006 (UTC)

Yeah, I heard about Flo too, apparently she "clashed" with Pauline. I think the "Auntie Mabel" comment by Pauline last year shouldn't be taken literally, as she DID call her second cousin (Nellie) "Aunt", and we've already established Pauline's sisters... Doris (the person who posted info about her on WT:WPEE seemed genuine), Flo (from the funeral), Queenie, Liz and Elsie (from the books). Trampikey (talk to me)(contribs) 21:29, 7 August 2006 (UTC)
She wasn't called Aunt Flo was she??? Eww if she was! -- AnemoneProjectors (talk) 22:13, 7 September 2006 (UTC)
LOL, I've never heard that called Aunt Flo before. I might use that phrase from now on. Gungadin 15:19, 8 September 2006 (UTC)
I have heard of it being called that! Trampikey (talk to me)(contribs) 19:44, 8 September 2006 (UTC)

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Louise Nerding redknapp.jpg)

Warning sign This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Louise Nerding redknapp.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image can be used under a fair use license. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Abu Badali 11:33, 9 August 2006 (UTC)

EastEnders actor

Hi, I noticed that there are two articles for the actor who played Adi Ferreira in EE. Ameet Chana and Ameet Channa. The second one just appears to be BS, saying that he has been knighted! It seems to be talking about the same actor as they both mention that he played the same role in Bend it like Beckham. Do you think I should just blank the page and redirect it to the first one, or should it be nominated for deletion? I see that it has already been nominated on it's talk page, but they decided to keep it! Gungadin 11:11, 13 September 2006 (UTC)

I suggest finding out the correct spelling of his name and merging the two articles together, redirecting the one with the wrong spelling. If he hasn't been knighted then remove that, or ask for a citation if you're not sure. -- AnemoneProjectors (talk) 14:29, 13 September 2006 (UTC)
Thanks AP. Do I need to get some kind of consensus vote before I merge, or should I just do it? He definitely hasn't been knighted.... If he has then what is the world coming to, lol. Gungadin 00:41, 14 September 2006 (UTC)
Just do the merge. The policy is that duplicate articles are merged if necessary and redirected. -- AnemoneProjectors (talk) 23:20, 14 September 2006 (UTC)
I already did it earlier today! Trampikey (talk to me)(contribs) 23:26, 14 September 2006 (UTC)

Let me know when you've finished so I can do a cleanup ;) -- AnemoneProjectors (talk) 21:10, 18 September 2006 (UTC)

Thanks AP, I have finshed for now. I was going to draw your attention to that article as I'm not sure if it's perhaps too long now. I dont know whether the new section I added should be reduced or whether some of the storylines should be condensed. I was reading it and there is a lot of detail about the Shannis stuff, maybe too much detail. Anyway let me know what you think would be best, or whether it should just be left alone for now Gungadin 21:18, 18 September 2006 (UTC)
Nah it's fine, I reckon! By the way, I just read the Sue Osman article for the first time! Do you reckon she's still locked up? ;) I'm not aware of many early storylines. -- AnemoneProjectors (talk) 21:34, 18 September 2006 (UTC)

The Working Man's Barnstar
Well done for the excellent work you did on Sharon Rickman! Trampikey (talk to me)(contribs) 14:32, 19 September 2006 (UTC)

I have a cheeky request...

Could you possibly work your Gungadin magic on the article [Dr. Harold Legg]]? It's in desperate need of more content and you're the best for articles regarding early-EastEnders characters! Trampikey (talk to me)(contribs) 14:52, 24 September 2006 (UTC)

Thanks a lot. He was a great character, and he deserves a better article, so I thought I'd better ask the best! Trampikey (talk to me)(contribs) 15:09, 24 September 2006 (UTC)

Lofty Holloway

Just wondering, could you tell me the original purpose of Lofty? I'm writing a bit for the main EE article about the original 23, and I don't know Lofty's purpose! (Also, do you have MSN or anything?) Trampikey (talk to me)(contribs) 20:48, 10 October 2006 (UTC)

Help!

I noticed you've been putting recent screen captures up - is there any chance you taped Friday's episode? If so, could you tell me (from the credits) who played Nina Brown - the prison family liason officer? Thanks Trampikey (talk to me)(contribs) 15:24, 22 October 2006 (UTC)

Wow thanks so much! It's not on IMDb, so did you watch the credits? Or how did you do it? Could you find out who played the other HMP officer, Kate Chole? Trampikey (talk to me)(contribs) 15:41, 22 October 2006 (UTC)

Cahill was (I think) Johnny's cell mate. Nina Brown played a bigger role than Kate Chole, so Kate Chole obviously wasn't credited... Don't worry! Trampikey (talk to me)(contribs) 15:52, 22 October 2006 (UTC)

If it's clearer, then upload over it! Trampikey (talk to me)(contribs) 21:03, 23 October 2006 (UTC)
As far as I can remember, Chrissie's lawyer was a man called Mr. Cockeren or Cockerell... and I don't know Johnny's cell mate's name... so he doesn't have an article... Could you get any other characters or is it just recently you've been able to record the episodes? Trampikey (talk to me)(contribs) 21:09, 23 October 2006 (UTC)
OK, here goes:

Trampikey (talk to me)(contribs) 21:27, 23 October 2006 (UTC)

Oh, and Bobby Beale appeared in the 5/6 October episodes... Trampikey (talk to me)(contribs) 21:40, 23 October 2006 (UTC)
Her name was Cheryl, but she doesn't have an article either. Trampikey (talk to me)(contribs) 21:54, 23 October 2006 (UTC)
Also, you could try to get a picture of Rev. David Walsh (4 September) and Sid Clarke (11 August-14 October) Trampikey (talk to me)(contribs) 21:56, 23 October 2006 (UTC)
I got the wrong name... It's David Walsh... oops! Trampikey (talk to me)(contribs) 00:04, 24 October 2006 (UTC)
Well done for getting all those pictures... did you manage to get Bobby, Karin or Petal? Trampikey (talk to me)(contribs) 15:57, 24 October 2006 (UTC)
I know! There are a few with her in the cot, like in the episode where Jack is filming with the video camera... I'll try to find the date of that episode for you! Trampikey (talk to me)(contribs) 16:07, 24 October 2006 (UTC)
You may be able to get one from the Friday 15th September episode... Trampikey (talk to me)(contribs) 16:11, 24 October 2006 (UTC)
There have been a couple of major close-ups of Petal's face, but I don't know what the dates were. — AnemoneProjectors (talk) 17:57, 24 October 2006 (UTC)
Get a screen shot of that, just there, just now!!! — AnemoneProjectors (talk) 18:41, 24 October 2006 (UTC)
Great work! Thanks :) — AnemoneProjectors (talk) 19:52, 25 October 2006 (UTC)

Bypass your cache

May I suggest that you read WP:CACHE? If you follow those instructions every time you update an image, you won't need to change image sizes in order for the new images to appear. — AnemoneProjectors (talk) 16:57, 24 October 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for that. I was getting annoyed when the image didn't change, or the size changed but the old picture remained in a distorted way. So does that just occur on my PC then? If you were to look at the page with the new image, would it appear normally? Gungadin 23:38, 24 October 2006 (UTC)
To be honest I think everyone might need to bypass or clear their cache, although lately I've updated some images and haven't had to bypass to see the new version. So the answer is... I don't know! — AnemoneProjectors (talk) 19:46, 25 October 2006 (UTC)

Do you...

  1. Have MSN yet?
  2. Have the episodes from September 1997 when the Fowlers go to Ireland?
  3. Know how I could acquire the episodes from September 1997 when the Fowlers go to Ireland?

Trampikey (talk to me)(contribs) 14:08, 25 October 2006 (UTC)

Well I wanted to watch them for both really, and just to see them =].

I went on my old computer and found them... I don't know where thet came from... a website I've forgotten probably! Trampikey (talk to me)(contribs) 14:16, 25 October 2006 (UTC)

I hope you don't mind

that I edited your sandbox. I just didn't think it was necessary to repeat "solo episode" in every section :) — AnemoneProjectors (talk) 00:08, 1 November 2006 (UTC)

no not at all. I didn't even notice that you'd changed it,lol. Edit it as much as you want. It will save it being done when it is eventually made into the real article.Gungadin 00:39, 1 November 2006 (UTC)

at a glance...

there are a few MINOR things I'd change, but nothing major; it looks pretty good to me... do you mind if I do a quick edit on your sandbox? Trampikey (talk to me)(contribs) 21:51, 2 November 2006 (UTC)

no problem! Trampikey (talk to me)(contribs) 23:59, 2 November 2006 (UTC)

You said to let you know...

...if there were any minor characters that needed images. Wayne Thompson appeared in today's episode! Trampikey (talk to me)(contribs) 23:17, 3 November 2006 (UTC)

The image you upload is from www.walfordweb.co.uk. Unless you have permission to use it, please upload another one... Trampikey (talk to me)(contribs) 22:41, 10 November 2006 (UTC)

Well that's very presumptious of u isn't it. It is a screen capture. How do u know I dont have that exact episode in my collection???? lol. and if we are gonna start getting picky then perhaps you would do the same for this image Image:Tom watt lofty.jpg which u have also taken from a website. Not to mention the numerous ones you lift from the official site. Gungadin 22:49, 10 November 2006 (UTC)

Oh touché! Fair enough - you got me back, but I can tell that's not from your collection, as your screen captures are generally larger and of a better quality... so yeah... I didn't mean to sound like presumptuous prick, it was just a friendly warning before some other busy body came along to force you to do it! Trampikey (talk to me)(contribs) 22:54, 10 November 2006 (UTC)
lol, ok i will tag it for deletion to deter the busy bodies. Gungadin 23:08, 10 November 2006 (UTC)
And as a sorry-for-being-a-prick gesture, if you haven't already seen these and you don't mind spoilers:

{{spoiler}} [1] {{spoiler-end}}

HUUUGE spoilers!! Trampikey (talk to me)(contribs) 23:13, 10 November 2006 (UTC)
Oh no!!! . I was hoping she wouldnt be killed off. Thanks for the pics. Looks exciting. A death at christmas, EE nice and cheery as usual.lol Gungadin 23:19, 10 November 2006 (UTC)
I love the way the "spoiler" is hidden in an external link, and then you just go and tell the world what it is on your talk page anyway :) Thankfully, I already knew. Anyway, as for the images, it's not fair use to take screenshots from other website, they must be created yourself. I think we should orphan all the images that have been taken from other sites. — AnemoneProjectors (talk) 01:04, 11 November 2006 (UTC)
lol,I didnt even think about the spoiler thing. Regarding the screenshots - I've been making a huge effort to update the cast cards on here with personally taken screen-shots which are fair use, so there shouldn't be many of those left now, which is good because they will all get deleted eventually anyway. The screenshot thing is odd. i was reading a discussion a while back on someone elses userpage about this issue. They were asking if it was ok to use other web sites captures and it was decided that it was because screenshots are only the property of the copyright holder i.e EE, and can never be owned by anyone else, not even the person who captured them. Whether that is true or not I dont know. That was why I uploaded that Maureen one, but the ones I usually take are either from my old/recent episodes, or are captured from videos that have been uploaded on youtube. It will be difficult to know which images have been taken from other sites won't it? how will we know that they have not been personally taken unless a source is stated? The cast cards should definitely be orphaned Gungadin 02:10, 11 November 2006 (UTC)
All the ones I took from the official site are distinguishable because they're all the same size... Trampikey (talk to me)(contribs) 13:12, 12 November 2006 (UTC)
I heard the opposite to you, Gungadin. We should though, just to be on the safe side! Maybe I'll make a start on it now. Someone will eventually identify the image as orphaned and it'll be deleted, if we don't tag them for deletion. Then any articles without images can be added to our image request lists. — AnemoneProjectors (talk) 14:30, 12 November 2006 (UTC)
Sorry about Jean Slater (and any others that you may have uploaded while I was orphaning!). Have finished now but may have missed a cast card or two. Wasn't sure about Tracy (EastEnders) - what do you think? — AnemoneProjectors (talk) 15:54, 12 November 2006 (UTC)
Thats ok about Jean, I decided to upload after u removed it, and thought it was easier to re-upload over the orphaned one. Not sure about that Tracy one. Looks a bit like a photo, but could be a screenshot, maybe Trampikey knows. I have an image of Tracy (or the actress) taken from an interview from EE revealed on BBC3. Is that fair use to use in the article? she was discussing the curse of the vic or something.Gungadin 16:13, 12 November 2006 (UTC)
You could use an image of Jane Slaughter in EE Revealed on the actress's page but not the characters, though even then, someone might tag it as a replaceable fair use image. — AnemoneProjectors (talk) 16:32, 12 November 2006 (UTC)

Image:Project3.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Project3.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ----RobthTalk 17:13, 12 November 2006 (UTC)
