Don't give up, you can always amend your answers. Sometimes it's difficult to say exactly what you mean when you're put on the spot. BTW i'd be a terrible admin. I would hate blocking people, i'm indecisive, If I need to know anything about what to do on wiki I ask you and AP (9 times out of 10), basically, i'd be a shit admin. I'm not going to, most of the oppose comments are constructive and they're nice about it, but I swear some people like opposing for no reason. I'm not answering any more of the optional questions on there, as my answers seem to be the main reasons people are opposing - so I just won't give any more answers seeing as they're optional. I think the user with question 8 is trying to throw you a life line, he's said as much in his oppose vote below, and the question seems reasonable enough. He just wants you to give a really good answer and cover everything that he feels you missed out, he might change his vote on that basis, and others could follow too. So just take your time with it and think about it, and of course you don't have to answer. But question 9 is definitely not something you should answer. He's seems like he's just baiting. He was the one that made the essay Wikipedia:Cruft portal that he's asking you about, and the EE portal is listed there as cruft. It's up for deletion anyway.Gung adin 17:37, 4 February 2008 (UTC)

You are mistaken here. I did not tag without checking the image (where it's being used). Aside Maria Sutherland, the image was also being used in Samia Smith (your removal of image) and there was no section in that article that illustrates the value of image. Non free image should not be used in biographical (Biography of living person) article unless there is certain section that describes about that image.In the mean time, I'd say you shouldn't remove the tag. The license page clearly specified Please do not remove the tag. Instead, you should add dispute tag to contest it.--NAHID 20:36, 6 February 2008 (UTC)

Dot Cotton Link Doesn't Even Exist

I've never asked anyone to remove something. The link you have provided does not mention Dot Cotton being a gay icon, because she has had a luckless life. Word it differently, sort of makes it sound like Homosexuals have luckless lives to. It does say that, that piece of information has been there for well over a year, and has been verified by other people on the project long before you came along. It's the jounalist's view on what makes a gay icon, not mine. The link went dead on the free site, ive provided the same page, but it's now a pay per view site, so you dont get the full article. Regardless, you shouldnt just remove references when they go dead. It happens all the time, but it doesnt mean the information is no longer usable. This is why we have access dates listed in references. Still doesn't mention Dot does it. Realiable links are often better, but if it's been varified then obviously they didn't look at it. Sorry to be picky, one persons view isn't fact though is it. Sorry, but you're wrong. It does mention Dot Cotton, Tiffany Mitchell too, and various other soap characters. How can you even comment when you haven't fully read the article? Of course one person's opinion isnt fact, and that's why the article Dot Cotton says she has been "labelled" as a gay icon. That she's been labelled as a gay icon is factual, because she has, in the article that's been referenced. Every single word in a newspaper article is about filling text space, so what's you point? This article happens to be solely about pink pin-ups and gay icons, so oddly enough, the journalist is filling text space with supposed gay icons, including Dot.Gung adin 22:17, 10 February 2008 (UTC)

Dot clearly isnt your gay icon Raintheone, and I do sympathise as this is obviously an important issue for you, but maybe you should be taking this up with the Evening Standard instead? That would be original research, though. We can't prove that gay people sympathise with her, because (as you mentioned above) the article is just the opinion of one journalist. He specifically talks about her "hard-luck life" in the article, so that's all we can say from that reference. He did axe loads, it's always reported that he axed 26/28 (apparently the most ever across all soaps), but some of them left by their own choice, and others like Dr Legg hadnt been on-screen for ages anyway.

Axed: George Palmer, Ruth Fowler, Bruno and Luisa di Marco, the Kapoors, Michael and Susan Rose, Chris Clark, Dr Legg, Polly Becker, Lenny Wallace, Huw Edwards, Tony Hills, Simon Raymond, Louise Raymond, Lilly Mattock, Josie McFarlane, Connor Flaherty, Mary Flaherty, Sam Mitchell. He also made the decision to kill Cindy Beale off-screen after she refused to return (which pissed Michelle Collins off), and he and Mal Young were responsible for killing Tiffany Mitchell against Martine McCutcheon's wishes (she was leaving, but didnt want Tiff to die).

Left of their own accord: Grant Mitchell, Annie Palmer, Sarah Hills, Tiffany Mitchell, Bianca Butcher, Alex Healy, Fred Fonseca, Matthew Rose

It was all because Corrie was consistently beating EE in the ratings for the first time in ages. With a few exceptions (like Louise, Sanjay, Lilly), I agree with most of his axings. There was pretty naff characters around at that time, like Susan Rose. It was a crime to kill Cindy and Tiff off tho!! He did introduce some good characters and storylines, like Steve and Mel and the whole Saskia murder stuff and Bianca's affair. How could I forget, he brought back Sam Mitchell too, but then axed her a few months later. not surprising since Danniella Westbrook looked like a coked-up corpse in 1999.
