Proposed deletion of Apatzi[edit]

The article Apatzi has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

I hate to do this, but after translating the first paragraph and reading the next two or three, I realized that the article is self-contradictory and therefore inherently can't pass WP:V. No sources are provided to help rectify the situation, and I feel the article is self-defeating as is. Also, it's a hodgepodge article which doesn't really stick to the subject after the end of the lead section.

The first paragraph declares Apatzi to be a god specific to the Purépecha people. The second paragraph says these people didn't make sacrifices to this god to the extent that the Mexica did, telling me that the first paragraph was wrong to attribute this god specifically to the Purépecha.

The first paragraph says there are multiple conjectures as to the origin of the name. The third paragraph unambiguously declares an origin of the name.

The entire next section has virtually nothing to do with the god.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. —Largo Plazo (talk) 10:38, 21 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
