Hi, thanks for sifting through. Just one thing: "SecurePoll admins have access to the behind-the-scenes stuff, which is accessible via Special:SecurePoll/list/130. This is an enhanced version of the public log, which they can view for comparison purposes by going to the same location while logged out." I guess HM was thinking this would be addressed directly to the scrutineers, and used "you" in that sense. I don't mind at all avoiding "you", but is "they" the SP admins or just the scrutineers? Tony (talk) 14:14, 1 December 2010 (UTC)

Both, because all scrutineers are SecurePoll admins. I've just made this edit to avoid the ambiguity. Graham87 14:53, 1 December 2010 (UTC)

BWV 186

Hi Graham, I looked at Bach's only cantata for the 3rd Sunday in Advent BWV 186a today. I found a funny redirect "BWV 186" instead of BWV 186 which I may have created by mistake, now I don't know how to get rid of it, a move doesn't help, because a robot "corrects" it. Can you delete it and create the real one? Today I wrote on Diethard Hellmann who reconstructed the music, - good coincidence, the teacher of our conductor, so far a de-link, now one less, to please you, smile --Gerda Arendt (talk) 19:44, 2 December 2010 (UTC)

Hi Gerda, OK, I've deleted that pesky redirect. I've also copyedited the article. Graham87 00:21, 3 December 2010 (UTC)
Thank you, it's on DYK right now, --Gerda Arendt (talk) 11:56, 3 December 2010 (UTC)

Cricket

G'day mate. Long time no speak - I hope you are well. I saw you NOST restore at first-class cricket and wondered how could I (or even better, you) identify the earliest cricket article? –Moondyne 00:28, 3 December 2010 (UTC)

Hey Ian, I'm quite busy today, so I can't help you right away. It's just a matter of checking page histories of early cricket articles ... it's a matter of luck really. The Nostalgia Wikipedia would be easier to use for this purpose than the English Wikipedia. Maybe look for old titles of articles. I just tried checking what links to the "cricket" article on the Nostalgia Wikipedia to try to find any redirects, but I had no luck there. Graham87 00:36, 3 December 2010 (UTC)
No sweat. User:Moondyne/Early cricket articles is a start. –Moondyne 01:26, 3 December 2010 (UTC)
I've gone through all the articles in this search query. I think we've both found the major early cricket articles. Graham87 15:36, 3 December 2010 (UTC)

Chris de Burgh

Hi Graham87. I have been watching with great interest over the last few months the ever changing Nationality of Chris. As you seem to be one of the more sensible people who contribute to the page,i will give you this information as the ever changing Nationality really needs to stop! Perhaps there should be a designated senior editor for each page to control edits, maybe you are that person?? I have been watching the user Sheodred's edits, also with interest. He is actually correct just he never provides a source. I however have that source! www.dfa.ie/home.aspx?id=267 That is the link for the Irish Department Of Foreign Affairs. Under Section:Entitlement to Citizenship "Under the Irish Nationality and Citizenship Acts,1956 to 2004,a person who was born outside Ireland is automatically an Irish Citizen by descent if one of that person's parents was an Irish Citizen who was born in Ireland".This means that not only is Chris an Irish Citizen but also an Irish National and is entitled to an Irish Passport. This may well explain why Chris is known around the World as "Irish" and of course because he has lived in Ireland most of his life. However of course Chris only needs 1 Passport, and really there is no extra benefit to having 2 Passports, so he continues to travel on a British Passport. Perhaps British/Irish or Irish/British best describes the Nationality issue as he is both. Best Wishes. Christ lag in Todesbanden (chorale)

Hi Graham, wrong season, but I just stumbled over Christ lag in Todesbanden (chorale), which could and should be Christ lag in Todesbanden now, similar to the other chorales you handled before. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 20:22, 12 December 2010 (UTC)

Done. Graham87 00:14, 13 December 2010 (UTC)
Thank you! Also wrong season: A mighty fortress is our God - the original is the German, of course, Ein feste Burg ist unser Gott. (I didn't count how many times I changed overly correct German "Ein' feste" and un-German capitalization "Ein Feste" yesterday.) For that chorale I actually think there might/should be two articles, one on the original and one on translations and impact in English speaking culture. What do you think? A question for next year. First BWV 91, to be expanded, plus that chorale, plus two more cantatas for Christmas, they celebrated three days then, smile, --Gerda Arendt (talk) 10:49, 13 December 2010 (UTC)
I think you'd need to use the requested moves system to ask for a move of that page, since it might be controversial (seeing as "A Mighty Fortress ..." is the most commmonly-known English title of the chorale. I don't see the point of splitting it into two articles, either, but the "In popular culture" section could be trimmed. Graham87 13:17, 13 December 2010 (UTC)
Thanks, also for copyediting. I didn't look closely at BWV 80, left that one for October 2011 or 2012, - in 2010 31 October was a Sunday, --Gerda Arendt (talk) 14:15, 13 December 2010 (UTC)

Dazu ist erschienen der Sohn Gottes, BWV 40

Dazu ist erschienen der Sohn Gottes, BWV 40 for 26 December is an existing article in need of improvement - and possibly even a move, because all serious sources have "Darzu" as the first word, more sources have "Dazu" which is more modern German. - I will turn - after the chorale Gelobet seist du, Jesu Christ - to a new cantata for 26 December, BWV 57, looks interesting and contrasting, --Gerda Arendt (talk) 22:11, 13 December 2010 (UTC)

I've copyedited the articles. You're probably right, the first article might need to be moved, but there's nothing in the way. Graham87 07:08, 14 December 2010 (UTC)
Thank you! BWV 40 moved, music added to 57, refs and details to the chorale, --Gerda Arendt (talk) 10:52, 14 December 2010 (UTC)
Christmas completed now by BWV 64, if you are interested, look, what a title. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 20:36, 15 December 2010 (UTC)
Done. Indeed, what a title! Graham87 01:14, 16 December 2010 (UTC)

Churros

Hi Graham

Just a quick question, lets see if you agree with me? If the following is true:-

"After the Portuguese sailed for the Orient and returned from Ming Dynasty China to Portugal, they brought along with them new culinary techniques, including modifying the dough for Youzagwei also known as You tiao in Northern China, for Portugal. However, they modified it by introducing a star design because they did not learn the Chinese skill of "pulling" the dough (the Chinese Emperor made it a crime with capital punishment to share knowledge with foreigners). As a result, the churros is not "pulled" but pushed out through a star-shaped cutter"

Then how is it churros are spanish? Portuguese more than likey if a european country is going to claim it, Iberian possibly, spanish...... no way.

I look forward to your reply ;) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.193.88.164 (talk) 14:23, 19 December 2010 (UTC)

Hi Graham

Thanks for replying, very good, but it doesn't say Country of Origin, its says place of origin, and therefore spain would be incorrect also, would it not?

Hello. If you have time, I think you should look into the actions of the IP (User talk:173.26.237.244) who's been adding these articles that were created as vandalism to DAFT, especially if the additions keep up like this. The person behind the IP may have created those articles just to get them on the DAFT page; that's happened a few times in the past year. The possibility that DAFT is encouraging vandalism makes me uncomfortable.

The other articles that were created just to get on DAFT were made by a person who created accounts named User:Bully25, User:Kill me when i die, and User:Damn cookies!. As far as I can tell, those accounts haven't done anything wrong lately, but the person behind them could be the same as the one adding these articles now. It might be worthwhile to check their contributions against the creators of the recently-added articles and see if there are any patterns. A. Parrot (talk) 20:41, 19 December 2010 (UTC)

Italic text

Hi Graham, thanks for your comments at WT:Manual of Style (accessibility)#Guidance on italic text. As a simplified example, what I'm trying to establish is whether a JAWS user can read the following two tables and be able to tell that José Contreras is a member of the Phillies' active (25-man) roster?

Key to symbols in player list
or Indicates a member of the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum (‡ indicates that the Phillies are the player's primary team)
§ Indicates a member of the Philadelphia Baseball Wall of Fame
Year Indicates that the player is a member of the Phillies' active (25-man) roster[1]
Players whose surnames begin with C
Name Season(s) Position(s)
Billy Consolo
1962
Third baseman
José Contreras
2010
Pitcher

In other words, in the second table the cell containing the season '2010' has a light-blue background and the text is italic. Are you able to match any of that with the key (first table) and get the relevant information?

There's no rush on this, but knowing the answers would help us to make better recommendations for keys to tables, particularly when they arrive at FLC. Regards --RexxS (talk) 03:31, 4 January 2011 (UTC)

Harald III move 2009

May I ask you cordially why you moved Harald Hardrada to Harald III of Norway "without discussion" on November 1 2009, if you might remember? Is there still a problem with Links in section headers?

Hi Graham, I'm glad you had a decent break, and thanks for your replies to #Italic text. I haven't forgotten about it, but I want to make some more examples that clarify what I see as the problem, and then I'll get back to you.

More immediately, I'm trying to reconcile the advice about putting links in sections headers:

  • WP:ACCESS#Links: "Avoid putting links in section headings. Some screen readers, such as versions of JAWS prior to 7.1, have significant difficulty correctly rendering such headers."
  • Help:Section#Section linking: "An internal link in a section heading does not give complications in terms of section linking"

as it's an issue now at WP:FLC. The question I'm hoping you can answer is, do section links in headers actually cause you problems? I should also ask if you think that many users of JAWS are likely to be using the versions prior to 7.1 (where we know significant problems exist)?

Finally, a specific example: the article List of birds of Pennsylvania has multiple links in section headers. How much of a nuisance does this cause you? Thanks in advance for any light you can shed on this issue. Cheers, --RexxS (talk) 17:52, 12 January 2011 (UTC)

Names of Bach's minor Passions

I suggest the following move and don't think a needs a broad discussion: at present we have St John Passion and St Matthew Passion, but St Mark Passion (Bach) and St Luke Passion (Bach). St Mark Passion and St Luke Passion (without a dot) are redirects to the disambiguation pages (with a dot) which have no links (other than the naming discussion). I suggest to move the Bach works in their places, for naming consistency. What do you think? - I liked to see on DYK a pictured Bach cantata on Epiphany and the NBA (Bach) on WP's birthday. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 10:03, 18 January 2011 (UTC)

I'm not sure. Do you want to move the articles with "Bach" in there title to just plain titles? Because Wikipedia has articles about St. Luke Passion (Penderecki) and St. Mark Passion (Wood), and the dot in the titles doesn't make much of a difference. Maybe this needs discussion on Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Classical music. Graham87 10:18, 18 January 2011 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on Michigan/to do, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a redirect to an article talk page, file description page, file talk page, MediaWiki page, MediaWiki talk page, category talk page, portal talk page, template talk page, help talk, user page, user talk or special page from the main/article space.

If you can fix the redirect to point to a mainspace page, please do so and remove the speedy deletion tag. However, please do not remove the speedy deletion tag unless you are fixing the redirect. If you think the redirect should be retained as is for some reason, you can request that administrators wait a while before deleting it. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}} to the page and state your reasoning on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Accessibility of symbol

Hi Graham, sorry to bother you again, but I've been asked how accessible the section symbol § is at User talk:RexxS#Another WP:ACCESS question. Could you let me know how JAWS renders § when you have a chance, please? noindex tag, again

Hello, Graham. I really hate to pester you about this again, but I have editors deleting things or bringing me up before ANI because my sandboxes don't have noindex tags (or had them put on by outsiders and I removed them). As a sysop who watches the main WP Sandbox page, can you re-assure me that my userpage sandboxes do not require the noindex tag? Sorry, again, for the bother. --Kenatipo speak! 21:34, 12 February 2011 (UTC)

Part 2: I think it may depend on what content you have in your sandbox. (I did a test search the other day for an article I was rewriting in one of my sandboxes and Google didn't seem to find it. This may have caused me to come to a faulty conclusion about the function of the noindex tag. I did another search a few minutes ago and Google did find it!). So, for safety's sake, I added the noindex tag to that article I'm re-writing. What I'm trying to say is that if the sandbox content is "sensitive", the noindex tag is probably a good idea, otherwise it's not strictly required. --Kenatipo speak! 22:06, 12 February 2011 (UTC)

Part 3: Did you ever read Voss by Patrick White? A great book, one of my all-time favorites. --Kenatipo speak! 22:09, 12 February 2011 (UTC)

Thank you, Graham. I think it's finally beginning to sink in. I appreciate your help on this. About Voss, it's not everyone's cup of tea. Patrick White has a "murky" style that I like, but some find it too "atmospheric" or "abstract". Say hello to the Fremantle Doctor for me! --Kenatipo speak! 02:50, 13 February 2011 (UTC)

The operas and the 1610 vespers, yes, plus a few others, but room for improvement. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 12:20, 13 February 2011 (UTC)

Just curious

Hey there, sorry if this may seem like an odd question, but can you tell me if, when your screen reader software or speech synthesizer comes across text written in ALL CAPS, does it 'shout' it at you? like, does it raise in pitch or anything like that? -- œ 07:07, 14 February 2011 (UTC)

Nope, it sounds exactly the same. Graham87 07:22, 14 February 2011 (UTC)
With the exception of acronyms which contain letter combinations not normally present in English, such as "USB". I was just leafing through your contribs and found this edit, which might have inspired your question. In that case, JAWS pronounces "USP" like "usp" because "sp" is a common letter combination in English. Graham87 08:56, 14 February 2011 (UTC)
I see. Thanks, and you're right. it was that post that inspired the question. :) -- œ 10:57, 14 February 2011 (UTC)

Question

Hello Graham87, about 2 months ago somebody hacked at least one, but probably more of my email accounts. This somebody had IP 67.202.67.86 I checked, if anybody with this IP edited wikipedia, and found out it did. I informed Avi, and he blocked this proxy IP. I thought it was the end of the story, but it was not. So I looked more closely over IP contributions and found this post at your talk page. I am not saying that a person, who hacked my email accounts, and the one, who left you a message is the same one, but they might work for the same company that uses this proxy. That's why I'd be interested to find out what do you know about the user, who left you this message. Email address points to Australia location, and I have some reasons to believe that a person, who hacked my account could be from Australia, and maybe even from Pearth. I reported a hacker and importer to Internet Crime Complaint Center, and any new information on the matter you could share with me would be very helpful. Cheers.--Mbz1 (talk) 15:08, 15 February 2011 (UTC)

Here's a question for ya

You're probably the only one that might possibly know this.. just out of curiousity, what is the oldest stub? Or more specifically, what was the very first stub template and what article was the very first to be tagged with it? -- œ 07:32, 18 February 2011 (UTC)

The concept of stubs was around long before the creation of {{stub}}. See Wikipedia utilities/find or fix a stub on the Nostalgia Wikipedia. Graham87 08:09, 18 February 2011 (UTC)
Right, so that tells me about the concept.. but my question was specifically about the template.. so obviously {{stub}} is the very first stub template, but is there a way to discover which article(s) was the first for it to be transcluded to? (or subst'd if that's possible to find that our somehow). Considering {{stub}} was first created at 18:06 on December 5, 2003 it would probably have been placed somewhere around that time and likely on new articles.. now I just need to learn how to query the database to find which articles were created at a certain time and date. -- œ 12:57, 18 February 2011 (UTC)
I don't know a way of finding the answer to your specific question, short of requesting a query on the Toolserver. But after creating the stub template, Mattworld (talk · contribs) substed it into his sandbox. His contribs at the time are interesting; in particular see this edit (all templates were in the MediaWiki namespace at the time, and when not substed, they were used by typing {{msg|templatename}}. I believe that the MediaWiki namespace was a brand new feature in early December 2003. Mattworld added a stub notice to America First on 7 December 2003 (UTC), but surely somebody added one before that (whether by substing the stub template or using text that they'd copied from Wikipedia:Boilerplate text. The very first version of the stub template was actually added to the "boilerplate text" page in September 2002. Graham87 14:24, 18 February 2011 (UTC)

Isn't it much easier trying to find the old Wikipedia articles in Tim Starling's recently released dump than it is in the nostalgia wiki? :| TelCoNaSpVe :| 02:53, 20 February 2011 (UTC)

My name is Keith Lyons. I work with Leigh on our Open Tender for the history of the Australian Paralympic Committee. Thank you for visiting the page and helping us. You have an enormous amount in common with Leigh.

I am hoping this is the start of a long friendship.

Best wishes

Keith —Preceding unsigned comment added by 59.154.42.231 (talk) 23:04, 23 February 2011 (UTC)

Hi Keith, it sounds like a very interesting project, and I'll be happy to assist in any way I can. Graham87 01:11, 24 February 2011 (UTC)

Userpages

Actually, I rather do mind. I prefer the spacing as it was before. I completely understand and accept that you meant well, but I'll be reverting it now. DS (talk) 04:13, 26 February 2011 (UTC)

Br tags might do the job, yes. Tinker around with it as you wish. DS (talk) 04:28, 26 February 2011 (UTC)

question about links

Graham, I have the following question. I'm with a free web site called Classical Connect (www.classicalconnect). It seems to me that a number of articles about specific pieces of classical music might benefit if a performance of the described piece could be heard. Some articles do have a link to free performances made during Isabella Stewart Gardner concerts (for example, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/String_Quintet_No._6_%28Mozart%29). We could add a number of links to illustrate some performances but I'm not sure if those would be allowed. I see that you have edited several articles on classical music. In your opinion, would it be OK to add a link to specific classical sonatas, quartets, etc.? Kulturtrager (talk) 16:36, 28 February 2011 (UTC)

Bob Chilcott

Hi Graham, can I interest you in Bob Chilcott, who didn't have any ref yesterday? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 12:07, 2 March 2011 (UTC)

Yes, nice work! Graham87 12:47, 2 March 2011 (UTC)
Well, I so far did nothing but repair too close similarity to one of the sources. The article would win by a bit of structuring, but I have no time for that now. At least he is kept. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:41, 5 March 2011 (UTC)

Contributing to Pi article

I went to add something to the article 'Pi' and noticed that it was semi-protected.

So, I am a registered user, but I still can't seem to edit it. Is editing completely locked down or are there additional steps I need to take?

Thanks, Pidye (talk) 18:44, 11 March 2011 (UTC)

Thanks for your work on Wendy Lewis (writer)

Hi Graham,

Just a short note to say thanks for the editing help on Wendy Lewis (writer). Much appreciated. :-)

Hi Graham,

> You're welcome. The article needs more detailed citations than just bare URLs, but other than that, it's pretty good! Graham87 00:29, 15 March 2011 (UTC)

OK, I'll work in the detail in the citations.

> But don't add a book that she co-authored to the further reading section when only a few pages of the book actually discuss the subject, > like you did at federation of Australia.

Yes, I think that this is a fair comment, and thanks for fixing it up.

> I'm wondering: do you have any personal association with Wendy Lewis? If so, read up on the conflict of interest guidelines.

Yes I do: she's my wife. (There! I've said it.)

Can I say, I read the COI guidelines before I launched the page, and I think that what I have done is justifiable under those guidelines. I can see that there is certainly scope for conflict of interest, but: she is notable, my comments stuck to verifiable facts, and I tried as hard as possible to be unbiased. I think I succeeded.

But tell me: did I?

What is the proper thing to do? Should I put something on the page that is a disclosure of interest?

Featured sound candidates

Hi! I hate to be a busybody here, but it's probably best not to remove things marked as "Promoted" from featured sound candidates without checking they appear in the main Featured sounds page: Unfortunately, we're having to pull new people in to make the decision on some of the Featured sounds, but the rest of the closing is generally left for Sven or me to do.

We really need a couple more directors. I'll look into it.

Anyway, thanks! Adam Cuerden (talk) 04:05, 17 March 2011 (UTC)

Vision-impaired editor

Hi Graham. I'm helping another user who is vision-impaired and he's been having some troubles getting started (see discussion). He's not currently using a screen-reader and he wanted to know if there was any additional help he can seek about this. I told him I'd put you in touch with him, is this okay? As you seemed to be the most likely person that can help. -- œ 06:16, 19 March 2011 (UTC)

Hi OE, I'll do what I can. Graham87 06:41, 19 March 2011 (UTC)

Hoping you can give some ideas

Hello, my operating system is Mac OS 10.6 (Snow leopard) and it has pretty good accessibility options like VoiceOver which is essentially for those with very little or no vision, and Text to Speech which is for those with low to medium vision or problems processing visual text. The operating system also includes excellent text and full screen magnification.

I have poor vision, and difficulties processing text, I have moderate dyslexia and neurological problems. Normally I use screen magnification because Text to Speech is not very good when I am trying to read my edits in a text file or for trying to understand talk pages or most help files. I have to make my wikiMarkup very large and eventually after I put inline citations in I can no longer read my own text. Recently, user Mlm42 showed me how to shorten the references and this has been a huge help because up until then I was using the Reference Generator and getting long lines of code which obscured my comprehension of text.

Sometimes I can't see text because of its colour or its background colour. The web based IRC was extremely difficult to use. I have now got a client called Colloquy, but I feel after recent events that it is best I do not use it.

Is there a way to change the way wikipedia displays? My browser, Safari, has a function called "Reader" which I use when it is available. This function strips all formatting, magnifies text and places it centre screen. It is good but it seems dependant on what the browser interprets as text that is difficult to read rather than being something the user can define. There are a lot of help pages that the Reader will not interpret so there are many pages I have not yet been able to access properly and because it is new I often forget to check if it is available for the page I am looking at.

I find that it is really hard to follow discussions on talk pages, paragraphs of more than 4 lines cause me difficulty, especially if they contain many acronyms, so basically any lengthy discussion takes me a very long time to access and process. Do you have any tips for that?

Do you have any advice for how to locate useful information then access it easily? I have printed some pages but there are so many...and very long with a lot of code. There are so many things I don't know how to do. I kept the welcome tags on my talk page and I go to it sometimes. Any ideas or advice would be welcome, maybe you can't help but you might be able to refer me to someone who can? Thank you for your time. Aakheperure (talk) 10:15, 19 March 2011 (UTC)

Thanks

Thanks for cleaning up the histories, etc. at paraphilic infantilism! Now the history is complete for the first time in five years. The double redirects are a more recent mess. Thanks for fixing those too. BitterGrey (talk) 04:01, 23 March 2011 (UTC)

Question about references

Hello Graham,

I am trying to find the reference for some figures in the article on HMS Resolution (1771). As far as I can tell, you put them in the article in 2008. I might be wrong - I'm relatively new and may have misread the history. I want to know where you found the costs for the fitting and refitting of Cook's ship Resolution that are mentioned in the article. I have looked in the books by Paine and Colledge (both mentioned in the references) and the information is not in them. So do you know where these figures came from? There is no exact citation for them. Thanks, I hope you can help. Whiteghost.ink 00:36, 24 March 2011 (UTC)

I received your response. Thanks for your help, Graham Whiteghost.ink 03:24, 24 March 2011 (UTC)

Overture on Hebrew Themes

I'd be inclined to upload it to English <Wikipedia, with a {{notforcommons}} template on it. - specifically {{notforcommons|2024}}. The status of someone of one nationality publishing elsewhere probably doesn't deny them copyright protection in their own country, so I'd keep it off Commons. IMSLP is a reliable source for publication date, however, so 1922 is fine.

Commons has a tendency towards knee-jerk decisions, so if it does get on Commons, make sure to have a copy here tagged with the {{KeepLocal}} template.

That is a lovely recording, though. Adam Cuerden (talk) 15:49, 26 March 2011 (UTC)

Long story short, copyrights only ever expire on January 1st, so they get held over until the next January 1st. Prokofiev died 5 MArch 1943, 70 years after that is 5 March 2023; but it can't expire on 5 March, so it's held over to 1 January 2024. Adam Cuerden (talk) 16:13, 26 March 2011 (UTC)
I have no idea how that applies to countries that use alternate calendars, by the way. Adam Cuerden (talk) 16:16, 26 March 2011 (UTC)

Sound File

What do you think of this? I suspect it may have gotten a little overprocessed when preparing it for the new CD release, but I'm really sensitive to overprocessing. Adam Cuerden (talk) 23:56, 27 March 2011 (UTC)

About what I thought. Well, it's worth having for the article, but I wasn't inclined to nominate it for FSC, and now am determined not to. Thanks! =) Adam Cuerden (talk) 00:28, 28 March 2011 (UTC)

A brownie for you!

SMasters has given you a brownie! Brownies promote WikiLove and hopefully this one has made your day better. Spread the WikiLove by giving someone else a brownie, whether it be someone you have had disagreements with in the past or a good friend.
*Thanks for copyediting the WP:WWF article! I did ask for a third-party to give it a once over before publication, but I guess everyone was too busy. – SMasters (talk) 07:04, 29 March 2011 (UTC)
To spread more WikiLove, install the WikiLove user script.
Thanks, yummy! :-) Graham87 07:45, 29 March 2011 (UTC)

Ciao!

Ciao Graham. Io sono Elitre, sysop su it.wiki. A presto, --Elitre (talk) 17:50, 29 March 2011 (UTC)

Grazie! A presto, --Elitre (talk) 11:41, 30 March 2011 (UTC)
Ho scritto il post. Ciao! --Elitre (talk) 20:05, 30 March 2011 (UTC)
Avevi ragione! Ciao! --Elitre (talk) 11:40, 31 March 2011 (UTC)

Munich Music

If you would like 20th century music from Munich (where Graham lives): Munich Biennale (first article of someone else, DYK tomorrow), Hans Stadlmair and Wilhelm Killmayer (teacher of two composers I know, mentioned, of course). How would you translate Fin al punto? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 12:21, 30 March 2011 (UTC)

Sounds interesting! I've copyedited the article. I'd translate "fin al punto" as "finish at the dot". That phrase sounds familiar to me for some reason ... Google tells me that it's the name of a work by Wilhelm Killmayer. maybe I'm getting mixed up with "fine da capo" or something. Graham87 12:59, 30 March 2011 (UTC)
Thank you! It is the work of Killmayer, DYK, the work mentioned in the Did you know hook,I mean? Did you look at the two people also? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 14:39, 30 March 2011 (UTC)
I have now. :-) Graham87 15:19, 30 March 2011 (UTC)
More thanks! Especially for spotting the wrong century. So many times I placed Bach dates in the 20th, this is new, :-) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 15:37, 30 March 2011 (UTC)

@lang policy

Hi, Did your Argument for a Consistent & Realistic @lang policy for Wikimedia ever get written up as a policy? I'd imagine it would be useful, if so. (I'll watch for replies here.) Andy Mabbett (User:Pigsonthewing); Andy's talk; Andy's edits 14:37, 30 March 2011 (UTC)

Hi Andy, It wasn't my idea; I just copied it from GJR's talk page, as it says in the discussion. I wanted to hear further opinions about it before trying to push it further, IIRC. Graham87 14:58, 30 March 2011 (UTC)
OK, thank you. Andy Mabbett (User:Pigsonthewing); Andy's talk; Andy's edits 16:47, 31 March 2011 (UTC)
