As a native English speaker, an Oxford graduate, a former Royal Navy officer, and a published author, it surprises me to learn now that (typos apart!) my written English is deficient. The Pacific War is a subject I've studied in some detail and on which I hold original Admiralty documents. If you are prepared to adopt a more co-operative attitude, the article could be considerably improved. Belle Fast (talk) 15:14, 26 September 2023 (UTC)

You're new to the WP:MILHIST style of writing? It's not that your sentence was of itself faulty but not in the wikipedia style (as I have interpreted it over the years) Have a look at the opening sentences of HMS Indefatigable (1909), 15th Tank Corps, 38th (Welsh) Infantry Division, 13th Airborne Division (United States) - these are all Featured article status but equally terse. If you have specific issues with the article itself, its talkpage is the appropriate venue. And FWIW original Admiralty documents are WP:Primary source and helpful but not the be-all-and-end-all. Just a quick apology for imagining that with such limited knowledge, inadequate documentation and inept prose any further contribution to this impeccable article could even have been contemplated. Belle Fast (talk) 18:29, 26 September 2023 (UTC)

Hi @GraemeLeggett: How goes it? I saw your work on the Black market in wartime France article. I was hoping to collect you to help us to expand the François Rabelais article from the fr article which is really well written. He is a major french writer and the article is in a bad condition. We are planning to start in about 3 weeks, but we have made a small start now. scope_creepTalk 15:36, 20 October 2023 (UTC)
