My RfA[edit]

Unfortunately, it appears that my RfA did not succeed. I would like to thank you for nominating me. I may try again next year. — Wenli (reply here) 04:09, 1 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You're welcome. You know, I tried to nominate myself for adminship, and I failed. They told me to try again in 6 months. Now I've seen you edit recently, and you fight vandalism and other stuff. At that rate, you may be able to try again in three months! -Goodshoped 04:10, 1 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

38 Geary[edit]

A Proposed Deletion template has been added to the article 38 Geary, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice explains why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you endorse deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}} to the top of the page. 38 Geary[edit]

Alright, I will withdrew PROD and redirect. Chris! ct 01:13, 2 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

OK, but I found a lot of cites for the 38 Geary, you may want to reconsider, but if you want, you can merge the article. -Goodshoped 01:14, 2 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Idea![edit]

I just had a thought. Maybe it'd be better if the headline bars had "Edit", "History", and "Watch" instead of just "Edit". Think how much time that would save! The "Watch" button would let you only watch that section, and the "History" bar would let you only see the history of the section, thereby saving valuable minutes. Best, --Gp75motorsports 23:22, 2 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not an admin, so I can't do that. You may want to ask Jimbo Wales, or another admin. -Goodshoped 02:09, 3 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks[edit]

For working alongside me against "Tony Spencer Hawk" and "Planet Gran" etc (sockpuppetry/incorrect use of Wikipedia), hope they're gone and don't come back! And thanks for telling them to leave me alone :). — jacĸrм (talk) 00:23, 3 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You're welcome. If they come back, they should be blocked without further warning. -Goodshoped 02:08, 3 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. Could you please avoid provoking blocked editors, which would include edit summaries such as this. It really doesn't help. Thanks. -- zzuuzz (talk) 02:47, 3 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Alright. And besides, I'm requesting his page to be protected. The reason why I done that is because of something from this user's talkpage (scroll to the middle). -Goodshoped 02:49, 3 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I was reviewing the request for protection and was more tempted to block you for incivility than protect the blocked user's talk page. Really, it doesn't help. Thanks. -- zzuuzz (talk) 02:55, 3 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
OK. I'll stop. -Goodshoped 02:56, 3 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Um, Goodshoped[edit]

About your edit to Tony Halk talkpage, without innding to offend you, may I suggst that you be a bit more kind in your approach? When you say things like "too bad, you had your chance," you provoke people into further arguments: in other words, you "feed" them. When you "feed" a troll or a vandal, you give that person exactly what that person desires, which is recognition. Whether the person's angry or looking for a response, giving one to them would worsen the conflict and possibly encourage them to do what they did again in an even worse situation. By giving them a civil and respectful response, you send a message to that person that you will not tolerate that, and at the same time, will not fight by any rule other than the Marquois of Queensbury rules. This will make the situation with the person much better, and at the same time, in a sense, discourage them from continuing to misbehave. Trust me, I've had previous interactions with people like that. We call them "trolls." Maser (Talk!) 03:23, 3 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not offended, I was just notified of that by zzuzz. Oh, and he's not the real Tony Hawk. Just an impersonator. And as for the trolls, I'll try to stop feeding them. -Goodshoped 03:25, 3 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks![edit]

Thanks for the barnstar! It was a pleasant surprise to see that on my page after coming back from a short wikibreak =) As for de-vandalizing your user page: you are most welcome. —Salmar (talk) 02:15, 4 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You're welcome. -Goodshoped 02:27, 4 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Username reports[edit]

Hi! I have removed two of the user name reports you have submitted. "Devilishadvocate" and "Abcdedcba". The first because it is not clearly offensive (it's a play on a popular expression) and the second because it is not a random sequence of letters and it is not confusing. If you have any questions please let me know. ---J.S (T/C/WRE) 02:51, 4 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

All right. Thanks! -Goodshoped 02:54, 4 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
