Alain Geismar

Dear Goldsztajn, thank you very much for your assistance at Alain Geismar. I should have edited it more thoroughly before publishing. I will make sure to do so from now on. Best, Thriley (talk) 02:16, 1 December 2020 (UTC)

Goldsztajn, you opened this review on May 31, and sixteen weeks later haven't posted anything to it. I'd like to suggest that you delete the review, so the nomination (which is at the top of the list in its section) will be available for the upcoming GAN backlog drive, which starts October 1 and runs for the entire month. Please let me know your plans. Many thanks. BlueMoonset (talk) 02:27, 23 September 2020 (UTC)

Hi BlueMoonset, thanks for the nudge, I'll have the review completed before October 1. Regards, --Goldsztajn (talk) 22:05, 23 September 2020 (UTC)
Goldsztajn, it's October 21, and the review has yet to begin. The backlog drive is over two-thirds done, reducing the chance that someone else will take it on this month. In fairness to the nominator, I think you should consider committing to either doing the review this month, or withdrawing. Thank you. BlueMoonset (talk) 14:15, 21 October 2020 (UTC)
Goldsztajn, thanks for completing the review. The nominator posted a couple of weeks ago that all the issues you raised were addressed. Please stop by as soon as you can to see whether you're satisfied with the edits that were done, and either complete the review or note any additional issues that need taking care of. Many thanks. • Do you have any issues that I should look into on this GAN? --Doug Coldwell (talk) 16:54, 20 October 2020 (UTC)

New Page Patrol December Newsletter

Hello Goldsztajn/Archives/2020,

A chart of the 2020 New Page Patrol Queue

Year in review

It has been a productive year for New Page Patrol as we've roughly cut the size of the New Page Patrol queue in half this year. We have been fortunate to have a lot of great work done by Rosguill who was the reviewer of the most pages and redirects this past year. Thanks and credit go to JTtheOG and Onel5969 who join Rosguill in repeating in the top 10 from last year. Thanks to John B123, Hughesdarren, and Mccapra who all got the NPR permission this year and joined the top 10. Also new to the top ten is DannyS712 bot III, programmed by DannyS712 which has helped to dramatically reduce the number of redirects that have needed human patrolling by patrolling certain types of redirects (e.g. for differences in accents) and by also patrolling editors who are on on the redirect whitelist.

Reviewer of the Year

John B123 has been named reviewer of the year for 2020. John has held the permission for just over 6 months and in that time has helped cut into the queue by reviewing more than 18,000 articles. His talk page shows his efforts to communicate with users, upholding NPP's goal of nurturing new users and quality over quantity.

NPP Technical Achievement Award

As a special recognition and thank you DannyS712 has been awarded the first NPP Technical Achievement Award. His work programming the bot has helped us patrol redirects tremendously - more than 60,000 redirects this past year. This has been a large contribution to New Page Patrol and definitely is worthy of recognition.

Six Month Queue Data: Today – 2262 Low – 2232 High – 10271

Will you be returning to this GA review, or should we find someone else to complete it?

Goldsztajn, you've been getting a number of reminders about your review of Talk:James Hood Wright/GA1, which you originally opened over six months ago on May 31, 2020. You didn't post a review until October 26, and the nominator posted that they'd addressed your points on November 17. Please let us know when you plan to return to the nomination, and if it's going to be more than several days, it's only fair to the nominator that you give strong consideration to withdrawing. Thank you for your prompt response. BlueMoonset (talk) 06:09, 10 December 2020 (UTC)

BlueMoonset I had actually looked at this a couple of times, but struggled to see how the editor had responded substantially to the points I had made, which left me somewhat flummoxed as to a response. I'll finalise the review in the next 48 hours.--Goldsztajn (talk) 22:58, 11 December 2020 (UTC)
Well, if they haven't adequately addressed the issues, then that's what you need to say. This is a very experienced GA nominator, after all. It's up to you whether to ask for the omitted work (pointing out what more is needed where) or to fail it outright (pointing out where the article still falls short and how extensively). Best of luck, and thanks. BlueMoonset (talk) 03:12, 12 December 2020 (UTC)

Your GA nomination of 1977 Atocha massacre

The article 1977 Atocha massacre you nominated as a good article has passed ; see Talk:1977 Atocha massacre for comments about the article. Well done! If the article has not already appeared on the main page as a "Did you know" item, or as a bold link under "In the News" or in the "On This Day" prose section, you can nominate it within the next seven days to appear in DYK. Bolded names with dates listed at the bottom of the "On This Day" column do not affect DYK eligibility.
