Sources needed for Days of the Year pages

I see you recently accepted a pending change to May 2.

You're probably not aware of this change, but Days of the Year pages are no longer exempt from WP:V and direct sources are required for additions. For details see the WikiProject Days of the Year style guide. I've gone ahead and un-accepted this edit and backed it out.

As a pending changes patroller, please do not accept additions to day of year pages where no direct source has been provided on that day of year page. The burden to provide sources for additions to these pages is on the editor who adds or restores material to these pages. Thank you. Toddst1 (talk) 13:39, 1 May 2019 (UTC)

Thanks for the comment... I checked the linked page and noted the copious sourcing, it wasn't a frivolous or trivial addition and (as you recognised) the IP added it in good faith... I made a judgement call in this case that a reference was not necessary (FWIW I've probably reverted 95% of all additions to Days of the Year I've come across)...personally, IMHO, rather than reverting (and therefore discouraging good faith contributions), the collaborative and WP:UCS thing to do as a follow up might be to add a reference from the many available from the linked page itself...probably an extra 10 seconds work...which I've gone and saved you from doing. :) --Goldsztajn (talk) 14:35, 1 May 2019 (UTC)
I certainly find abrupt "you will be blocked without warning etc" messages to be discouraging. I don't expect anyone to "clean up after" me, but an explanation would be collaborative and helpful. Richardson mcphillips (talk) 21:58, 3 May 2019 (UTC

I appreciate the sentiment. @Deb: and I have added references to literally thousands of these entries cleaning up after folks just like this. We have ensured that all of these pages are now protected to prevent this stuff from proliferating.
I see you're a new patroller. I appreciate that you made a judgment call. Please use better judgement in the future.
Thanks for adding the source. Did you verify it? It's on you to ensure it's accurate. Toddst1 (talk) 00:48, 2 May 2019 (UTC)

Welcome

Hi Goldsztajn. Welcome to wikipedia. I saw your name at WikiProject Organized labour and thought I would stop by to say hello. It's always nice to see another editor interested in labour. Let me know if I can help, or answer any questions. Cheers.--Bookandcoffee 02:04, 6 September 2006 (UTC)

Notice

The article Herman Klare has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted after seven days unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Masum Reza📞 11:30, 27 May 2019 (UTC)

Herman Klare moved to draftspace

An article you recently created, Herman Klare, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.
