At the moment there is no indication that Wikipedia has received permission for this content to be used hence the reason the speedy was added. Given that you claim to have sent such permission I have blanked the page with a copyvio notice - it has to remain in that state until Wikipedia confirms the permission. At that point someone should come along and restore the page. Dpmuk (talk) 09:58, 7 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Dpmuk. how strange and funny, i saw that also YOUR own page has received a copyright infringement notice :)) here is a copy of the second message sent to wikipedia: how long does it take to verify this issue and cancel the notice on the page?

From experience it can take a few days - rest assured that the content is still there and will be easily restored once the release has been verified. Unfortunately we cannot accept statements on Wikipedia as we can't confirm you are the copyright holder (or acting on their behalf). Yes it's a bit of pain but unfortunately this is outside mine (and nearly all editors) controlled. The policy has, I believe, been decided on legal grounds and there are only a very limited number of editors that do the actual verification. This may be frustrating but I'm sure you can understand why Wikipedia needs to protect itself from a legal standpoint and it's better safe than sorry.
I am not aware of ever having received a copyright infringement notice although there are a few discussions about copyright notices on pages created by other people. Dpmuk (talk) 22:48, 7 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Update on Franca Batich[edit]

I apologize that your e-mail has not yet been processed by the Wikimedia OTRS office. These things can take some time and I have contacted an OTRS editor to investigate. In the meantime, I have replaced the article with the revised version which you created in the temporary space. When permission has been processed, the article may be restored with the original text. However, please note that the text will still need to meet stringent Wikipedia biography guidelines for verifiability and reliable sources. Biographies must be referenced with citations to independent sources. In the case of Batich, this could be reviews of her life and work in significant newspapers, art magazines or journals -- while press releases from galleries or exhibitions which sell her work will not qualify. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me. Regards. 09:48, 13 October 2009 (UTC)

I understand and will provide more detailed reference and info. Her works has been reviewed several times in newspapers but I am not sure to find all the online versions - I found some, in Italian. Let me point out that catalogues from national and international exhibits organized by public subjects are not press releases. Anyway I'll work on this, thanks. --Globe.explorer (talk) 14:59, 13 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Great! In the long run, it is always better to write an article in original language rather than rely on copy-pasted text from any source. The problem with catalog entries is that the tone and style of language is promotional -- the exhibitors are interested in drawing an audience -- therefore, it doesn't always qualify as neutral point-of-view which is required of an encyclopedic article. By the way, there is no requirement that the sources be on-line or in English. Italian newspapers of good quality are perfectly acceptable sources. Thanks for your efforts with this.
