Creating an article[edit]

Hi George. I'm replying to your question here about creating Fairouzeh. When a link shows up in red like that, clicking on it will take you to an edit window where you can type in content for the page. Just enter your text, click "show preview" to check it looks fine, and then click "save page" and the page will be created. You might like to look at Wikipedia:Your first article beforehand for some instructions on how to write the article, and maybe read some good existing articles to get an idea of how the formatting and text should look. Let me know if you have any more questions. Happy editing! Olaf Davis | Talk 08:44, 28 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I'm glad I was able to help. For future reference, new messages on talk pages are normally posted at the bottom rather than the top. You can also create a section for the message by clicking the 'new section' tab at the top of the talk page to make it easier to find. WP:Talk pages explains other aspects of talk-page use. File copyright problem with File:Dair Mar Elias.jpg[edit]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading File:Dair Mar Elias.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. (ESkog)(Talk) 18:19, 1 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please send me an "Image copyright tags licencs " or "copyright tag" where I can only clik (sign) on it and be able to to post the picture of Dair Mar Elias.pig. The source of the picture was my personal file. Thanks

helpme[edit]

If you need help with something or have a question, post your question on this talkpage with the {{helpme}} above the question and someone will help you. The page you edited is the documentation page.--Terrillja talk 18:07, 4 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

{{helpme}} I,m still not sure how to obtain Image copyright tags to post a pictur. Can you be more specific on what to do. Can I just click on already writen licens by click on "agree " Thanks

Please send me an "Image copyright tags licencs " or "copyright tag" where I can only clik (sign) on it and be able to to post the picture of Dair Mar Elias.pig. The source of the picture was my personal file. Thanks

You should upload the picture at Commons:Upload. Just follow the instructions there, selecting 'It is entirely my own work'. You can choose the licence you prefer - "public domain" is the simplest. Once it is uploaded, take a note of the filename you used. It will then be immediately available in Wikipedia; for example, [[file:ThreeElephants.jpg|thumb]] gives the pic shown here.
For more help, you can either;
  • Leave a message on my own talk page; OR
  • Use a {{helpme}} - please create a new section at the end of your own talk page, put {{helpme}}, and ask your question - remember to 'sign' your name by putting ~~~~ at the end; OR
  • Talk to us live.

I have replied again on my talk page, in User talk:Chzz#help with uploading a picture.  Chzz  ►  19:47, 18 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have family from there as well. And this does not count as an argument.

We're not talking about the pronunciation here. It's the same problem as with "Homs"; everyone knows it should be pronounced and written "Hims", but it is pronounced and written, wrongly, "Homs". What proof do you have that this is the official spelling? Your websites down the page? There are more sources on Google books for "Fayruzah" than "Fairouzeh". Go check. And go check on your own website, on the map in the background. You can explain in the article how it is pronounced, but the official ALA-LC spelling is "Fayruzah". I suggest you read this: Wikipedia:MOSAR.

Besides, the paragraph you've added at the end of the article has nothing to do in an encyclopedia, as with many other parts of this article, and notably, all those websites down the page. It all sounds like you're trying to make some cheap advertisement for our village. This is not a showcase for a club or an association, this is an Encyclopedia.

Regards,

--Bryan P. C. C. (talk) 14:21, 6 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Bryan P.C.C April 6, 2012 Thank you for your response to my changes. I’m the original writer of "Fairouzeh" four years ago. I'm sure of the official spelling of Fairouzeh in English. All the road signs in Homs leading to Fairouzeh is spelled that way. I have picture to proof that and will email them to if you provide me an email address (I do not know how to attache picture in my reply). As to the other spelling of Fairouzeh on some website, it was used to differentiate between the websites for convenient . If you check Google you will find that the overwhelming majority of reverence to Fairouzeh spelled this way. I would appreciate if you leave the spelling as I wrote in 2008.

As to the reference to the village of being an Assyria/Syriac village is not true. I was born in Fairouzeh and know for sure that this is an Arabic village with Christian inhabitant. There is a Syrian Orthodox church in the village and the only one who could speak Syriac is the priest (maybe). I deleted the picture of the house labeled as a typical Syriac house. I agree with you that the paragraph I added yesterday could be eliminated.
