Hello, I'm Jeff G.. I noticed that you made a change to an article, but you didn't provide a reliable source. I’ve removed it for now, but if you’d like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you.   — Jeff G. ツ (talk) 03:02, 1 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

September 2012[edit]

Please do not write or add to an article about yourself. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Wikipedians with articles). If you wish to add to an existing article about yourself, please propose the changes on its talk page. Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was my page deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss it with the deleting administrator. Thank you.   — Jeff G. ツ (talk) 00:16, 2 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, GenovevaT. We welcome your contributions to Wikipedia, but if you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may need to consider our guidance on conflicts of interest.

All editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging. People with a close connection to a subject are not absolutely prohibited from editing about that subject, but they need to be especially careful about ensuring their edits are verified by reliable sources and writing with as little bias as possible.

If you are very close to a subject, here are some ways you can reduce the risk of problems:

  • Avoid or exercise great caution when editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with.
  • Be cautious about deletion discussions. Everyone is welcome to provide information about independent sources in deletion discussions, but avoid advocating for deletion of articles about your competitors.
  • Avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).
  • Exercise great caution so that you do not accidentally breach Wikipedia's content policies.

Please familiarize yourself with relevant content policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you.   — Jeff G. ツ (talk) 00:16, 2 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Genoveva[edit]

Hola Genoveva, I created Rivas' article a long time ago. At that time there was little information in the internet on him. You are doing a good job. The most important thing to remember when adding information on an article is to provide "reliable verifiable" sources. This is Wikipedia policy. We expect this to be done because anybody can edit his article or any article for that matter and add false information. When someone adds information without a source, what we do is remove it because we do not know if that person is doing so in good faith or in bad faith. We have no way of knowing.

It is important that you know that there are certain so-called sources which are not acceptable in Wikipedia. This are: Wikipedia, Facebook, MySpace, personal websites and any website that can be edited by anybody. Sources which are acceptable are magazines, newspapers, books, government websites and so on.

On top of this "talk" page I added a "welcoming" that includes the expected guidelines to help you get around in Wikipedia.

If you wish, you can take a picture of him and upload it to his article. Suerte Tony the Marine (talk) 00:40, 9 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

La Fhoto[edit]

Gracias por tus palabras. You just made my day (night).

1. You must have the photo in your computor (JPEG).

2. "Click" on "upload file".

3. "Click" on "Old Guided Form".

4. "Click" on "Entirely my own work - I created it, own all the rights to it, and have not used anyone else's work in making it."

5. "Click" on "Click Here" (Do not click on "Upload to Commons" for now)

6. Fill the information in the "summary".

7. Go to "Licensing" and "Pick" the :"Multi-License Creative Commons Attribution-Share alike 3.0 and older and GNU Free Documentation License".

8. "click" on "Browse" and look for the photo that you want to upload.

9. "click" on "upload file".

10. Wait until the photo appears. Here is an example of what you will see: File:PX-6th Ave. Windsor Hotel-1875.jpg

11. Then go to John Rivas infobox and post it in the article. For example: |Image = John Rivas.jpg and |imagesize = 150px

That should do it. If you have any more problems, let me know. Tony the Marine (talk) 21:06, 9 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for File:The Art of BONZZO Visits the General Archive of Puerto Rico - Big Comic Strips Expo.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:The Art of BONZZO Visits the General Archive of Puerto Rico - Big Comic Strips Expo.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click the "Edit" tab at the top of the page and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 05:05, 11 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Bonzzo Comic Strip[edit]

Genoveva, I added an infobox to the article "Bonzzo Comic Strip", you can fill it in and it should look something like this one: Hulk (comics). Tony the Marine (talk) 20:05, 11 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • Genoveva, here is some friendly advice. In the section "BONZZO The Comic Strip" of the John Rivas article, you are going to have to add reliable verifiable sources to the first and second paragraphs, otherwise someone in Wikipedia will post "{{cn}}" (citation needed) in the article which will look like this: [citation needed]. That will not look good in the article especially to the first time reader. Saludos Tony the Marine (talk) 00:28, 13 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
