helpme - NHN[edit]

I found an article NHN_Corporation which appears to be duplicating NHN. I've searched through the help pages and I'm really not sure what do with it. Any help would be greatly appreciated Gatorsong 02:24, 15 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia:Merging and moving pages explains the general procedure, but since this case is simple you can just make NHN_Corporation redirect to NHN (by replacing the contents of NHN_Corporation with #REDIRECT [[NHN]]. Use {{helpme}} again if you want help with that (or if it isn't done soon, I will make the redirect anyway).--Commander Keane 02:31, 15 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

A question[edit]

I've seen alot of edits by you on the Buffy/Angel articles, so I decided to drop you a line about something. I have recently been reading over the BtVS episodes and have noticed that episodes that I was sure had articles were there, and now they aren't, i.e., I Robot,... You, Jane, Nightmares, Ted, Phases, just to name a few. Also, some articles have format errors in infoboxes or picture links don't work. I'm realtively new here, but I would like to help out any way I can. I checked on the Wikiproject Buffyverse and saw that several of those episodes had been struck as being completed were actually dead links. I don't know if this is an issue of vandalism or copyright deletion or if they just were not there to begin with. I know that you are very involved with this project so I thought I would see if I could get your input on it. Again, if you need assistance with anything I'd be happy to help out. Peace. Hiya, bit of a long story: In short:
1: In March this year, I emailed BuffyGuide.com web master, and asked if Wikipedia could use the summaries under a 'BuffyGuide' account. I received emails (plural) back from the web master's email accounts confirming this. In these emails I received from her email account (which are still in my inbox), the person who sent the emails back to me, even signed their name as her.
2: Believeing I had the permission to do this, and never even thinking there would be a possibility of any problem, I created the 'BuffyGuide' account and used it only to create brief summaries for episode articles.
3: In past few days, the web master created athe wiki account, User:Actual BuffyGuide, and said that material was taken without permission.
4: User:Centrx became aware of 'Actual BuffyGuide' and deleted many Buffy episode articles
5: I emailed the web master in a state of confusion, (Actual BuffyGuide) she has since emailed me back after finding emails in her own inbox giving permission to me. She has said she was unaware of the emails and that it is most likely that a family member used her email account and pretended to be her (see User talk:Actual BuffyGuide).
User:Centrx is able to return the Buffy episodes even if in their form before March 2006, which would be better than nothing. A fwe others have aklready contacted him, but you could give him a message asking to return the deleted article without the edits by BuffyGuide, or even better, ask him to return the whole article with the 'Summary' section deleted (removing the 'Summary' which is from BuffyGuide.com).

I have emailed 'Actual BuffyGuide' and asked if she too could make the case to User:Centrx to return the Buffy episode articles. - Paxomen 09:20, 15 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It appears that User:Centrx has been restoring the articles and is now completing them. If we need summaries written for them I'd be happy to help out any way I can. Gatorsong 22:16, 15 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Hiya, yeah any help writing any missing summaries (around 100-200 words) would be very helpful. Also of even more miportance we could try to restore lost material from Google's cache. Google saves records of web sites, and has older versions of wiki articles including the Buffy episode articles before User:Centrx deleted them then returning them to their March 2006 versions (undoing all the work since then). You can find the caches by searching Google e.g. for "Welcome to the Hellmouth (Buffy episode)". Look for the link to the wiki article, then click under the Google link on 'Cached'. You can't edit the page and get the wiki code (it will go the deit page for the current version if you try), but you can copy text direct from the page. I will be starting with the last episodes Centrix altered, then going backwards so starting I wil be starting in Season 2. So you could start from the begining if/when you are free. - Paxomen 10:41, 16 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Hello again, deleted my prev post. I was quite tired and didn't like the way it sounded. Anyway, I'm working on redoing summaries for the Buffy episodes that don't have them. If you could, when you get time, look over the ones that I've done and let me know if that is what the project is looking for, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again Gatorsong 05:07, 21 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Hiya, I looked at your contributions, and they look really good. I'll start a discussion though at Wikiproject Buffyverse in next day to decide on episode structure because it is pointless us putting efforts into certain sections of episode articles, if those sections are subsequently deleted by editors who don't believe certain sections are needed. -- Paxomen 08:56, 21 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
