Duplicate images uploaded[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:SettAlice walking out of the Umbrella Raccoon City Main Doors near the end of the Movie.jpg. A machine-controlled robot account noticed that you also uploaded the same image under the name Image:Alice walking out of the Umbrella Raccoon City Main Doors near the end of the Movie.jpg. The copy called Image:Alice walking out of the Umbrella Raccoon City Main Doors near the end of the Movie.jpg has been marked for speedy deletion since it is redundant. If this sounds okay to you, there is no need for you to take any action.

This is an automated message- you have not upset or annoyed anyone, and you do not need to respond. In the future, you may save yourself some confusion if you supply a meaningful file name and refer to 'my contributions' to remind yourself exactly which name you chose (file names are case sensitive, including the extension) so that you won't lose track of your uploads. For tips on good file naming, see Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions about this notice, or feel that the deletion is inappropriate, please contact User:Staecker, who operates the robot account. Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Image:Selena Gomez At HSM 2 Premiere.jpg, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Image:Selena Gomez At HSM 2 Premiere.jpg has a copyright license type implying some type of restricted use, such as for non-commercial use only, or for educational use only or for use on Wikipedia by permission, which was either uploaded on or after 2005-05-19 or is not used in any articles (CSD I3). While it might seem reasonable to assume that such files can be freely used on Wikipedia, this is in fact not the case[1][2]. Please do not upload any more files with these restrictions on them, because content on Wikipedia needs to be compatible with the GNU Free Documentation License, which allows anyone to use it for any purpose, commercial or non-commercial. See our non-free content guidelines for more more information.

If you created this media file and want to use it on Wikipedia, you may re-upload it (or amend the image description if it has not yet been deleted) and use the license {{GFDL-self}} to license it under the GFDL, or {{cc-by-sa-2.5}} to license it under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license, or use {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain.

If you did not create this media file but want to use it on Wikipedia, there are two ways to proceed. First, you may choose one of the fair use tags from this list if you believe one of those fair use rationales applies to this file. Second, you may want to contact the copyright holder and request that they make the media available under a free license.

If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. This bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion, it did not nominate Image:Selena Gomez At HSM 2 Premiere.jpg itself. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot. If you have any questions about what to do next or why your image was nominated for speedy deletion please ask at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thanks. June 2008[edit]

Please do not add copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder, as you did to Image:Selena Gomez at the HSM 2 Premiere.jpg. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. Copyright problems[edit]

Hello. Concerning your contribution, Samson and Delilah (Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles), please note that Wikipedia cannot accept copyrighted text or images obtained from other web sites or printed material, without the permission of the author(s). This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://www.fox.com/terminator/recaps/season2.htm. As a copyright violation, Samson and Delilah (Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles) appears to qualify for deletion under the speedy deletion criteria. Samson and Delilah (Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles) has been tagged for deletion, and may have been deleted by the time you see this message.

If you believe that the article or image is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL) then you should do one of the following:

However, for textual content, you may simply consider rewriting the content in your own words. Thank you. Phlegm Rooster (talk) 10:07, 10 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:UTM hi 1.jpg[edit]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:UTM hi 1.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NW (Talk) 14:55, 19 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image (File:UTM hi 1.jpg)[edit]

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:UTM hi 1.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. NW (Talk) 14:26, 21 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for File:UTM hi 2.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:UTM hi 2.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. File source problem with File:The Beauty of the Game(Official Poster) -TVB-.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:The Beauty of the Game(Official Poster) -TVB-.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 04:44, 24 December 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. FASTILYsock(TALK) 04:44, 24 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use File:Shane_harper_10.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Shane_harper_10.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information or which could be adequately covered with text alone. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. feydey (talk) 08:11, 27 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

July 2010[edit]

This is the final warning you will receive regarding your disruptive edits. The next time you disrupt Wikipedia, as you did to Hannah Montana, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. 117Avenue (talk) 06:31, 16 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This is the only warning you will receive regarding your disruptive edits. If you vandalize Wikipedia again, as you did to Template:Hannah Montana, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. 117Avenue (talk) 05:20, 19 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please refrain from introducing inappropriate pages, such as Hannah Montana Forever (soundtrack), to Wikipedia. Doing so is not in accordance with our policies. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. AussieLegend (talk) 06:44, 16 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have nominated Hannah Montana Forever (soundtrack), an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Hannah Montana Forever (soundtrack). Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. AussieLegend (talk) 03:19, 18 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Verifiability, notability etc[edit]

Please note that everything added to Wikipedia must be verifiable, in accordance with Wikipedia's verifiability policy. Readers must be able to check that material added to Wikipedia has already been published by a reliable source or, in the case of albums such as Hannah Montana Forever (soundtrack), that they actually do exist and are not simply the figment of someone's imagination or a rumour. Images must be licensed appropriately and all required information must be provided. There are numerous warnings on your talk page about images missing copyright tags or fair use rationales. Most of these images are now deleted because you failed to provide the requested information. Articles that you create must meet the general notability guidelines in Wikipedia:Notability, which requires that "information on Wikipedia must be verifiable; if no reliable third-party sources can be found on a topic, then it should not have a separate article." The existence of Hannah Montana Forever (soundtrack) is not verifiable and is therefore not notable; it should not have an article, which is why it has been nominated for deletion. Until such time as you can provide citations from reliable sources you should not continue to add it to articles, as you did to Template:Hannah Montana here and here. Restoring links to the article after they have been removed is just going to result in them being removed and if you persist in adding them, you may be blocked for edit warring or vandalism. --AussieLegend (talk) 05:54, 19 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You have been temporarily blocked from editing for abuse of editing privileges. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make constructive contributions. If you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal the block by adding below this notice the text {{unblock|Your reason here}}, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first.

Many of your edits are extremely dubious. For example this edit replaced correct information with information which was quite clearly false. This edit can really only be considered as vandalism. The accuracy of your posting of Hannah Montana Forever (soundtrack) has been called into question. It is difficult to make sense of quite a number of your edits. In fact a post at Administrator intervention against vandalism has suggested that this is a vandalism only account. Unfortunately I do not know enough about the topics on which you have edited to be able to tell whether that is true, but it is certainly clear that much of your editing is unconstructive. If I were certain that this applies to all of your editing then I would block you from editing indefinitely. As it is I have given you the benefit of the doubt, and blocked you only temporarily. However, when your block expires please make sure that your editing is acceptable, or you will be blocked again for a longer period. JamesBWatson (talk) 08:03, 19 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

To be fair, this edit didn't actually replace correct information with false at the time the edit was made. Gabrielclai had replaced the image with a higher resolution version of a promotional poster that breached NFCC.[3] In fact a number of such changes had been made but they had been reverted. I reverted this one but didn't check the article it was used in for any changes. -AussieLegend (talk) 08:30, 19 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve.
