The edits about the teacher at Somerset Berkley Regional High School in Somerset, MA are 100% accurate and truthful and can be verified by contacting the Somerset Police, Dudley Police, or the Superintendent. Removing the verifiable truth is akin to censorship and bad faith. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.160.242.180 (talk) 20:38, 4 March 2021 (UTC)

Sorry about that edit

Thanks for undoing my edit on LASA High School. I thought I was undoing the vandalism, but it turns out the IP was undoing the typo (or vandalism)! Didn't check closely to see if it was being deleted or added. Sam-2727 (talk) 03:40, 14 January 2020 (UTC)

Dear User:Gab4gab, User:John from Idegon, and to whom else it may concern,

I have a few questions on your reasoning, I understand why you have deleted the class types offered because of perceived bias (I would not have added it if the category was not even included in the infobox template dedicated to schools), I understand that. But not including the educational system for this specific school’s Wikipedia page, while keeping the name of the educational system for other schools in the system and the region is unfair and disingenuous. Plus adding the former names and the names of the other schools that merged is a valid decision and makes it much easier for a reader looking for the predecessor schools.

Here is more information on how the other schools in the school system and the region are portrayed (you can make the decision to treat all equally or you can overhaul each page, just be fair)/this is not an exhaustive list:

Information icon Hello. Your recent edit to Trinity School for Ministry appears to have added the name of a non-notable entity to a list that normally includes only notable entries. In general, a person, organization or product added to a list should have a pre-existing article before being added to most lists. If you wish to create such an article, please first confirm that the subject qualifies for a separate, stand-alone article according to Wikipedia's notability guideline. Thank you. Waltham High School and Waltham High School

Hello Gab4gab, I made a mistake when I wrote back 1968 and it was 1969. I havn't been able to find a reference for the foundation of the ancient school (Q48836265), but it existed before 1969 and the current school (Q7966612} at sure, because I was editing an article about Mildred Sanderson (Q11104429) who studied there before 1910. Invitation to RedWarn

Hello, Gab4gab! I noticed you have been using Twinkle and was wondering if you'd like to beta test my new tool, RedWarn, specifically designed to improve your editing experience.

  • Easy to use - Unlike other tools, RedWarn uses easy to interpret icons and simple summaries for common actions, reducing both learning and reading times.
  • Supports rollback and rollback-like functionality - Unlike Twinkle, RedWarn supports both rollback and rollback-like functionality for users will rollback permissions. This decreases waiting times during rollbacks.
  • Making life easier on the battlefield - Ever been in the middle of a vandalism war or campaign, frantically reloading the history page to see a new edit? No more! Enabling RedWarn's "Alert on Change" feature will automatically send you to the latest edit when a new edit occurs - and if you're working on something else, RedWarn will send you a notification while the tab is still open in the background. No time wasted.
  • Rollback previews - If you're ever worried about the changes a rollback will make, especially in the case of reverting good faith edits, you can click the rollback preview button to preview the difference a rollback will make, with the version that will be restored on the right, and the latest revision on the left.
  • Always the latest revision - RedWarn will automatically redirect you to the latest revision if the rollback is no longer for the latest revision - no more frustrating errors.
  • Fast - RedWarn can automatically select a warning level, and, on vandalism and content removal rollbacks, automatically select a warning template.
  • Built on your feedback - RedWarn is receiving frequent feature additions and changes based on your feedback. If there's something you don't like, or would like to see, just say!
  • and many more features ...but I don't want to fill your userpage.

RedWarn is currently in use by over 50 other Wikipedians, and feedback so far has been extremely positive. If you're interested, please see see the RedWarn tool page for more information on RedWarn's features which I haven't listed here. Otherwise, feel free to remove this message from your page. If you have any further questions, please ping me or leave a message on my talk page. Your feedback is much appreciated! Ed6767 talk! 13:49, 10 June 2020 (UTC)

Notable Alumni edit Metro Academic and Classical High School

Hi Gab4gab, I have replaced Nia Ray as a notable alumna, with a new citation to a factual news article in the publication, St. Louis Post Dispatch, and an additional citation to a letter published on the MO DOR website during her tenure. Question: I have seen your comment on previous edits, by others, that a biography on Wikipedia must be available, in order for a person to be considered notable. However, Wikipedia guidelines on reliable sources, cites Wikipedia as an unacceptable source, because it is a user-generated site, and I have seen other editors/admin comment to that effect.[1]. Can you direct me, please, to the Wikipedia policy on notability? I have seen your references to others, directing them to check that policy, but no link was given to that policy. Thanks. Hey quick question, what is the page lacking since the “Notability” is still up on the page.DeltaSquad833 (talk) 14:02, 10 July 2020 (UTC)

@DeltaSquad833:The article lacks citations of reliable secondary sources that are independent of the topic and provide significant coverage of it beyond a mere trivial mention. Items posted to websites by the employees of the school are not helpful to notability. Sources published by the school also do not show notability. The notability criteria for schools can be found at WP:ORG with school specifics at WP:NSCHOOL. Gab4gab (talk) 14:47, 10 July 2020 (UTC)

I added few more news articles.DeltaSquad833 (talk) 14:59, 10 July 2020 (UTC)

@DeltaSquad833:Did any of them have significant coverage of the school? Beyond a single sentence mentioning that a student from the school was a winner in a contest? Gab4gab (talk) 15:13, 10 July 2020 (UTC)

Is it valid if the Ministry of Education mention the school in the “private school” list. [1] Biography of a person who used to teach there. [2] And lastly the historical documents of Brunei Darussalam. [3] DeltaSquad833 (talk) 00:21, 11 July 2020 (UTC)

@DeltaSquad833:I would think the 3rd item,if it has more than a couple sentences on the school, will be excellent. One thing that unclear in the article is the age range of the students. The typical meaning of middle school in most English speaking areas is grade 7-9, ages 12-14. If you could clarify that in the article it will be helpful. Gab4gab (talk) 11:10, 11 July 2020 (UTC)

Schools in general- Ramsgate in particular.

I see that we have been paddling in the same pond! Its great to have company. Currently I have been inspired by the Destubathon and applying it to Kent, and for a short holiday to all the secondary schools in Norfolk. Basically repetitive work but it has its moments. To destub, one has to check that there are at least two references, that the links in the infobox are for the right school. HMG and ofsted provide the basic references and generally the details for the infobox. The next test I apply is whether it is all in the lead, or whether there is referenced text sections. I think that shows evidence of more than a stub- but uncertain where to draw the line between a Start and a 'C'

While doing this I like to add a fair use logo- usually from the schools behavioural policy, but can be anywhere on their web site and a map or pushpin map (see my user page for the mark up code). If necessary I add a statement on how they organise their KS3/KS4 - while obeying the criteria of not just adding lists of subjects. And then I sit and wait for some feedback-- and wait and wait. If you have any comments, gained from your experience as a reviewer please share. Any thoughts on Chatham and Clarendon Grammar School, or St John's Catholic Comprehensive School and assessment levels? Or any Smithdon High School or school in Norfolk? ClemRutter (talk) 15:29, 30 July 2020 (UTC)

@ClemRutter: Thanks for you message, it's food for thought. While I'm a new page reviewer I've never gotten comfortable with that task. Now I spend most of my time reviewing recent changes. That gets depressing so I'll consider adding de-stubbing as a change of pace. Sorry I can't be of much help giving you suggestions. Gab4gab (talk) 16:44, 2 August 2020 (UTC)

Question about columns (and other guidelines)

I just saw your note on the Concord High School (Delaware) page that "CSS columns are preferred over table columns." Where can I find that information so that I can know what similar preferences there are? (I am not doubting your edit or anything—I would just like to know where to find this guideline and others so I can adhere to them in future edits.) Thanks! Palindromesemordnilap (talk) 00:00, 12 September 2020 (UTC)

@Palindromesemordnilap: Thanks for your message. Keeping track of table/CSS column is confusing for me because there are so many very similar template names where one produces a table and the other produces CSS columns. For example {{colbegin}} is CSS and {{col-begin}} is table. The best documentation I've located is at Template:Columns which has an alert message at the top and a helpful 'See also' section below. County in school infobox

In this edit you have again removed the county parameter from the school infobox, with the edit summary stating "no infobox county for US schools". Can you point to a policy that forbids the use of this parameter? Alansohn (talk) 17:29, 22 October 2020 (UTC)

I've explained my edit multiple times on your talk page. I suggest you take your issue to the talk page of the school infobox template. Gab4gab (talk) 20:13, 22 October 2020 (UTC)
In this edit on my talk page you made the claim that you had "been told to remove county from the infobox for U.S. schools." In this edit you state that you "believe that consensus from previous discussions there is not to include county for schools in the US."
You've never "explained" anything other than your belief that there was some consensus reached that explicitly bans the use of the county parameter in the school infobox. Can you point to where this consensus was established? And can you please ping me so that I know that you;ve replied? Alansohn (talk) 16:10, 23 October 2020 (UTC)
Alansohn, I suggest you discuss your issue at the talk page of the school infobox template. Gab4gab (talk) 16:20, 23 October 2020 (UTC)
I assume that the absence of a citation of this purported discussion makes it clear that there has never been any such consensus reached on the matter. The parameter exists in the infobox and has been widely used in articles for schools across the United States. There is no policy that prohibits its use, nor is there once that requires it, which means that the use of the parameter is a matter for individual editors to consider and use as they see fit; no editor is required to ask permission from anyone to use the field in this infobox or any other field in any infobox. You are free to initiate a discussion and reach a consensus to ban the use of the parameter. Until then it appears clear that there is no reason not to use it for its intended purpose. I want to connect Secondaryboardhighschool s Wikipedia page to Secondaryboardhighschool s Facebook page . please help me. Kritish Mohapatra (talk) 14:46, 30 October 2020 (UTC)

@Kritish Mohapatra:, The link in the infobox, https://seconaryboardhighschool.blogspot.com/, provides a link to the school Facebook page. Thus the link is already available and you should not add it to the article again. This is covered in the external links policy where it says "More than one official link should be provided only when the additional links provide the reader with significant unique content and are not prominently linked from other official websites." In this case the included official website prominently lists three social links including Facebook at the near top right of the landing page. Gab4gab (talk) 15:06, 30 October 2020 (UTC)

Dear Gab4gab, you deleted my additional text to the WIkipedia file of the Ateneo de Manila College Glee CLub. The additional text was for the period 1981-1983 which was missing from the file. There was no mention of that period at all when that period is most important to the group because those were the years for the 1st and 2nd internaitonal concert tours for the choir. I have collaborated with my fellow members from this period (a981-1983) for the text to be included. We do not have published sources but we got the date from our diary, vivid memory and some momentos like posters and pictures. I hope you will allow me to add the text again without citations or resources because we do not have them. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.245.118.184 (talk) 16:24, 30 October 2020 (UTC)

École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne

Hey Gab4gab! I removed the map form École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne's wiki page because I thought an image of a country's map at the top position of a university's wiki page seemed awkward and inappropriate.

Can you publish École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne's logo at the pages top position? Fahadkabir (talk) 10:21, 2 November 2020 (UTC)

Reverted Changes to Xavier High School

Hello ... just curious as to the reasons for removing references to First Tech Challenge as an active club at Xavier. I'm inclined to put them back in, but would like your thoughts. If we should be listing sports championships, we should be listing additional information about the non-sports organizations as well.

@Swstadel: My edit summary in reverting the addition of First Tech Challenge material was "Unsourced". Wikipedia content is based on published sources. It's fine to restore challenged content as long as the restoring editor supplies in-line citations supporting the restored material. See WP:V. Cape Breton University: Notable alumni, David Dingwall

(→‎Notable alumni: cn: David Dingwall needs a citation confirming attendance as a student, existing references do not and are not needed since they simply confirm description details sourced in his biography article)

The reference I provided is from a Maclean’s magazine article, first published on April 3, 1995, which states:

"Go to Cape Breton, though, and Dingwall's name is gold. Students at the University College of Cape Breton, where he studied business, recently christened a new stone wall built on campus with part of a $2-million federal grant "the Ding Wall." "

Bishop's College School

Hi. Thanks for your relevant edits, yet, it is very commonly for schools to add their alumni Lists on their Wiki Main Page with an extra Alumni List section. This list is only for quick browsing to give a sense of the BCS alumnus association. The full Introduction of these people are in the seperated pages. Similar examples includes Eton College, Harrow School. In Canada Upper Canada College has a similar way of display. As I have checked that the two seperated pages only had 300 views since creation. I think it is very important for a commoner to judge the strength (both sides good vs. evil parts) of the school if the main article includes a Alumni List. --OOOOOOOw (talk) 17:20, 6 December 2020 (UTC)

You are correct and that was my fault. I made that edit quite awhile ago when I wasn't as familiar with rules regarding University articles. My apologies. @Gab4gab: No problem. I have done an initial reduction of the section down to paragraph form and noted the number of degree offerings in each school rather than listing the degrees. The only degrees I did mention were transfer options along with the partner institutions involved and the Gaelic option. As you posted the cleanup tag, its removal is at your discretion. -MPen92 (talk) 14:36, 15 December 2020 (UTC)
