Speedy deletion of SoftRock[edit]

A tag has been placed on SoftRock, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Hi. Your image [File:Colour_Televisor.JPG] description refers to a closeup [File:Colour_Televisor_Picture.JPG] that seems from the above to have been deleted due to copyright problems. Thanks for stopping by my Talk page. I'm not sure if this is the right way to respond - if not then please delete this post!

The image in question was probably my close-up shot of a colour Baird-style mechanical television system - one of only a very few examples known to be operating anywhere in the world. I took the photo myself, uploaded it myself, gave it the appropriate copyright tag (release to public domain IIRC) and then someone came along and deleted it. As you'll see from my Talk page it's not the first time it's happened to my contributions to Wikipedia and I'm frankly so peeved at the whole thing that I'm unlikely to continue contributing to the project.

Hi. When I first made diagrams and tried to give them public domain license I found that is easier said than done. I have not had a problem since I learned to use the drop-down menu of licenses in the "Upload file" tool. (I was trying to write a personal declaration but these licenses must be tags readable by copyright checking bots, one of which I think has been giving you grief i.e. not a person.) The last image I made is File:GIFPAL.png. A bot should not object to the license tag PD-self. I notice that you got some help in putting a license tag PD-old-70 on Fultograph_print.jpg which worked alright. (Those tags in bold are actually surrounded with curlys {{ }} but it won't look good to do that here.). I hope this helps you reload the images that were deleted. If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Strange,I only got you response a few hours ago, If it's clearly authorised, you will need to send in the verification per the instructions here - Wikipedia:Declaration_of_consent_for_all_enquiries, If it's your own photo that was used on the cover, let me know and this can be resolved very quickly. I've also requested a deletion review on the other 2 images which are mentioned as having issues here. Both those images could be reinstated if the issues as to sourcing and attribution are resolved, with appropriate declarations as noted. As an editor of a respected publication, you are in a better position than most to understand why Wikipedia takes copyright and attribution concerns so seriously, however when mistakes or "bad calls" have seemingly occurred, it is only reasonable that efforts are made to clarify. Unfortunately, we cannot accept, on the basis of what is said on Wikipedia, permission for anything that has been previously published outside of Wikipedia because we have no way of verifying your account.
