Speedy deletion nomination of Welcome236[edit]

Hello G.swapnil,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Welcome236 for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on INH News Channel requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company, corporation or organization, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. - MrX 15:43, 15 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia and copyright[edit]

Control copyright icon Hello G.swapnil, and welcome to Wikipedia. All or some of your addition(s) to Festivals of Chhattisgarh have been removed, as they appear to have added copyrighted material without evidence of permission from the copyright holder. While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues here.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. (There is a college-level introduction to paraphrase, with examples, hosted by the Online Writing Lab of Purdue.) Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • Our primary policy on using copyrighted content is Wikipedia:Copyrights. You may also want to review Wikipedia:Copy-paste.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Such a release must be done in a verifiable manner, so that the authority of the person purporting to release the copyright is evidenced. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • In very rare cases (that is, for sources that are PD or compatibly licensed) it may be possible to include greater portions of a source text. However, please seek help at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions, the help desk or the Teahouse before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources may not be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you do confirm that a source is public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism for the steps you need to follow.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps in Wikipedia:Translation#How to translate. See also Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 13:11, 10 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I was mistakingly blocked and I've explained the reason on an email to the admin (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Bbb23) on email in detail. I wasn't aware of some of the policies and I ended up goofing on the ADF debate page. I assure it'll not be repeated.

Decline reason:

I am declining your unblock request because it does not address the reason for your block, or because it is inadequate for other reasons. To be unblocked, you must convince the reviewing administrator(s) that

  • the block is not necessary to prevent damage or disruption to Wikipedia, or
  • the block is no longer necessary because you
    1. understand what you have been blocked for,
    2. will not continue to cause damage or disruption, and
    3. will make useful contributions instead.

Please read the guide to appealing blocks for more information. Yamla (talk) 12:28, 13 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

G.swapnil, I received your e-mail. I see nothing in it that's private, so it would be better for you to explain yourself on this page so others can review the plausibility of your comments.--Bbb23 (talk) 21:28, 13 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Here's the copy of email I wrote to the admin who blocked my account. Requesting other admins to take a decision. Hi Bbb23! Apologies, it certainly looked like a misconduct but allow me to explain. You've blocked me after visiting my comments from INH 24x7 page. Alienbdit (as you've called it Sockpuppet on wiki - I'm new to this term) happens to be my colleague and I asked for his help to understand why the page is on Deletion even after the News Channel's strong presence in Chhattisgarh State of India. He saw the screenshot and then he shared his UserID and Password as he was away from the computer, and told me to add a reference link to LyngSat - website that suggest the frequency of Satellite Channel which might help in confirming the notability of this news Channel. That's when you blocked me. I'm new on wiki so I request you to please lift the ban as I was unaware of this action and its resulting outcome. FYI: There are only two major TV Channel which are established and origins from Chhattisgarh (a) IBC24 (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IBC24) and (b) INH 24x7 (also known as INH News locally) and owing to the public interest and my interest in journalism I understand the relevance of this page to be on wiki. PS: I'm new on Wikipedia, I am updating and adding relevant information about Chhattisgarh as I belong to this state and have a passion to travel and research more about this part of the land that is not explored much. I have created relevant pages like 'Festivals of Chhattisgarh' on wiki which was a much needed information for the people and similarly added 'Chhattisgarh Rajyotsav' which is the state's foundation day and celebrated from over 17 years now. I have a lot more to add to this basket. It'll be great if you can consider unblocking my ID so I can carry on my task.

Decline reason:

Socking doesn't "look like misconduct", it is misconduct. So is creating inappropriate articles and violating copyright. You seem to indicate you will do more of the same if unblocked, so I'm declining your unblock request. Seraphimblade Talk to me 14:57, 17 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
