  • Please stop adding commercial links to Wikipedia. It is considered spamming, and Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising. Thanks. Femto 11:07, 31 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add commercial links or links to your own private websites to Wikipedia, as you did in Calligraphy. Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or a mere collection of external links. You are, however, encouraged to add content instead of links. See the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia. Thanks. - (), 09:43, 8 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop. If you continue to use Wikipedia for advertising, you will be blocked from editing. Femto 13:38, 8 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please refrain from undoing other people's edits repeatedly. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia under the three-revert rule, which states that nobody may revert a single page more than three times in 24 hours. (Note: this also means editing the page to reinsert an old edit. If the effect of your actions is to revert back, it qualifies as a revert.) Thank you. ≈ jossi ≈ t@ 21:45, 8 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You have been temporarily blocked for violation of the three-revert rule. Please feel free to return after the block expires, but also please make an effort to discuss your changes further in the future.

I have also noted that you have added your personal website to numerous articles, in addition to Caligraphy, that earned you a 24 hr block. Please do not add commercial links or links to your own private websites to Wikipedia. ≈ jossi ≈ t@ 23:55, 8 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Your website[edit]

Your calligraphy is indeed beautiful, but this is not the issue at hand.

Adding your own website as a link to numerous articles is not acceptable. You may want to read WP:AUTO

If your work is indeed notable, there would be secondary sources that describe your work. In Wikipedia we report what reliable, secondary sources say about a subject. Primary sources are allowed on the articles about the subject itself.

If for example, you are notable enough to have an article in Wikipedia (see WP:NOTABILITY, then we could include information about yourself from your website.

Hope this helps.

Hope you keep contributing[edit]

I just want you to know that I hope you were not too frustrated by your early editing experiences here and we have not scared you away from making more contributions to Wikipedia projects. Wikipedia can be a great source and if you figure out the rules (and sometimes they are a little difficult to figure out if you are not into rule based systems) you will realize a lot of thought went into them to help our community find ways to work together on the process of collaborative editing. I don't doubt that you were attempting to those add links to your web site in good faith, because you are an artist and your work is an example of calligraphy, but all of us here at Wikipedia wait for others to write about us or reference us as that makes sure that this does not become a work of vanity.

After reviewing the emails you sent me I want you to know that you should try to add content to various articles here to help improve Wikipedia, and if you get into an editing dispute before reverting try contacting me or another more seasoned Wikipedian and try discussing it with one of us so you can better understand your situation in relation to the rules here.

If you need more help don't hesitate to email me again. Alex756 05:08, 10 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
