re Hal an Tow[edit]

Expand on what? I was contrasting an unsupported statement that the Hal an Tow is either an English import or a recent invention where I have seen it suggested that it is another aspect of the defeat of death (winter) by life (spring), which is what Flora Day celebrates, represented by Norse ice dragons and Hurn the Hunter (a pre-Christian forest dwelling demi-god transposed into St. George the dragon slayer). Of course, there is little in the way of references available - since the basis of the practices are rooted in paganism and the only recorders of history in past ages was the Church, who would not have been keen to acknowledge the pre-Christian origins of the Feast Day - except the collecting of local folklaw, later recorded in local publications. Now, I'm not saying that my suggestion is the ancestry for the Hal an Tow - but it as equally a valid opinion for the basis of the pageant, and as suitable for placement in the article; that is, none without a citation. Hello, All anyone seems to know is that the Hal an tow is ancient. It was, however, revived in 1930, as I'm sure you know. Given that its name is derived from the Cornish language it's fair to say it's English, though not an English import. Do you want to change the article, or should I?
