February 2023[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Meters. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to Flags of micronations have been undone because they did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Teahouse or the Help desk. Thanks. Meters (talk) 05:23, 25 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Really? Kekistan, piped to Pepe the Frog? Meters (talk) 05:29, 25 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Literally, If you scroll down, you can see Kekistan. Flag Creator (talk) 09:31, 27 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
That was for an animation. Flag Creator (talk) 09:30, 27 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at List of Indian flags ‎. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been or will be reverted.

Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive. Continued disruptive editing may result in loss of editing privileges. Thank you. Meters (talk) 05:31, 25 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

March 2023[edit]

Information icon Please do not introduce incorrect information into articles, as you did to List of Greek flags. Your edits could be interpreted as vandalism and have been reverted. If you believe the information you added was correct, please cite references or sources or discuss the changes on the article's talk page before making them again. If you would like to experiment, use your sandbox. Thank you. Constantine 08:24, 18 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Copyright[edit]

I don't for one minute believe that you own the rights to release this logo [1] under a creative commons license. I suggest you stop making such uploads immediately, as both Wikipedia and Commons take copyright violations very seriously. AndyTheGrump (talk) 12:38, 21 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Changing wiki[edit]

I might change Wikipedia to MicroWiki. I'm finding a lot of problems here. Since I'm busy, I might change because My talk page is filled with errors I made, Fake flags and all of that. So, Im not sure if it's a goodbye to Wikipedia. Flag Creator (talk) 12:48, 21 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding 'fake flags', can you clarify which of the many flags you have uploaded to commons are (a) your own work, and properly licensed under the specific license stated, and (b) genuine flag designs the design of which can be verified through reliable sources? AndyTheGrump (talk) 23:40, 21 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Most of them were mine except the flag of Sparta. The images I uploaded have a proper license. Flag Creator (talk) 09:04, 22 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I decided.[edit]

I decided that I will do both because Wikipedia is the one I use to research. Since I am very interested in Micronations, I will use MicroWiki for it. Flag Creator (talk) 12:17, 27 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Please use edit summaries[edit]

Information icon Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I noticed that one or more recent edit(s) you made did not have an edit summary. You can use the edit summary field to explain your reasoning for an edit, or to provide a description of what the edit changes. Summaries save time for other editors and reduce the chances that your edit will be misunderstood. For some edits, an adequate summary may be quite brief.

The edit summary field looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

Please provide an edit summary for every edit you make. With a Wikipedia account you can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing → check Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary, and then click the "Save" button. Thanks! ~Anachronist (talk) 00:36, 17 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Done. Thanks for the message! Flag Creator (talk) 11:14, 17 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Not productive[edit]

I don't know why an edit summary like this helps build an encyclopedia. The other user who worked on the list with me, putting countless hours into it, knows English as a second language. Take a breath please, we're a community here. Aza24 (talk) 16:43, 10 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, I'm sorry. I deeply apologize for that. I didn't know that you worked with another user. #bodyContent aFlag Creator { background-color: #ffa500; color: #ggggggg; font-weight: monoscope; } 16:55, 10 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of Katherine, Daughter of Elizbeth of York[edit]

Hello Flag Creator,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Katherine, Daughter of Elizbeth of York for deletion, because it's a redirect from an article title to a namespace that's not for articles.

If you don't want Katherine, Daughter of Elizbeth of York to be deleted, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

You can delete it. I find no problem. If you're wondering why the draft is short, it's because I left the other spaces for other people to edit. Also is the draft or article getting deleted? #bodyContent aFlag Creator { background-color: #ffa500; color: #ggggggg; font-weight: monoscope; } 12:25, 2 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Or nevermind I got it. #bodyContent aFlag Creator { background-color: #ffa500; color: #ggggggg; font-weight: monoscope; } 05:06, 6 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia and copyright[edit]

Control copyright icon Hello Flag Creator! Your additions to Draft:List of forensic reconstructions by Carl Koppelman have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • We have strict guidelines on the usage of copyrighted images. Fair use images must meet all ten of the non-free content criteria in order to be used in articles, or they will be deleted. To be used on Wikipedia, all other images must be made available under a free and open copyright license that allows commercial and derivative reuse.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into either the public domain (PD) or under a suitably free and compatible copyright license. Please see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps described at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. See also Help:Translation#License requirements.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, please ask them here on this page, or leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 16:08, 8 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Copying within Wikipedia[edit]

You did not identify the source of the material in your edit. It appears to be DNA Doe Project. Copying within Wikipedia is acceptable but it must be attributed.

This type of edit does get picked up by Copy Patrol and a good edit summary helps to make sure we don't accidentally revert it. However, for future use, would you note the best practices wording as outlined at Wikipedia:Copying_within_Wikipedia? In particular, linking to the source article and adding the phrase "see that page's history for attribution" helps ensure that proper attribution is preserved.

While best practices are that attribution should be added to the edit summary at the time the edit is made, the linked article on best practices describes the appropriate steps to add attribution after the fact. I have done so for you this time, but hope you will follow best practices yourself next time.

I've noticed that this guideline is not very well known, even among editors with tens of thousands of edits, so it isn't surprising that I point this out to some veteran editors, but there are some t's that need to be crossed.S Philbrick(Talk) 13:27, 22 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom 2023 Elections voter message[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2023 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 11 December 2023. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2023 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:37, 28 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

List of Syrian flags moved to draftspace[edit]

Thanks for your contributions to List of Syrian flags. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it has no sources. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. estar8806 (talk) 22:12, 1 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • I want to leave a comment on this to emphasize that you really shouldn't submit this draft again until it has been changed in a way that addresses the issues outlined in the comments. This is the 5th time in less than two weeks that this draft has been rejected, and the page still has the issues it had the first time it was rejected. Please do not unnecessarily contribute to the already huge backlog of articles awaiting review by resubmitting a page without fixing the issues that led to it being rejected the first time (and the second time and the third time and the fourth time and the fifth time). Thank you.  Vanilla  Wizard 💙 22:55, 20 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Your submission at Articles for creation: List of Syrian flags (February 4)[edit]

Your recent article submission has been rejected. If you have further questions, you can ask at the Articles for creation help desk or use Wikipedia's real-time chat help. The comment left by The Herald was: Kindly improve and add into Flag of Syria rather than submitting the draft again and again when reviewers turn it down for the same reason. Thanks.
