Asian 10,000 Challenge invite[edit]

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. If you would like to see this happening for Asia, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Asia, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 02:03, 20 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

New deal for page patrollers[edit]

Hi Feroze Ahmad 2,

In order to better control the quality of new pages, keep out the spam, and welcome the genuine newbies, the current system we introduced in 2011 is being updated and improved. The documentation and tutorials have also been revised and given a facelift. Most importantly a new user group New Page Reviewer has been created.

Under the new rule, you may find that you are temporarily unable to mark new pages as reviewed. However, this is nothing to worry about - most current experienced patrollers are being accorded the the new right without the need to apply, and if you have significant previous experience of patrolling new pages, we strongly encourage you to apply for the new right as soon as possible - we need all the help we can get, and we are now providing a dynamic, supportive environment for your work.

Find out more about this exiting new user right now at New Page Reviewers and be sure to read the new tutorial before applying. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 04:29, 13 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Template:Shoranur–Mangalore section requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion because it is an unused duplicate of another template, or a hard-coded instance of another template. After seven days, if it is still unused and the speedy deletion tag has not been removed, the template will be deleted.

If the template is not actually the same as the other template noted, please feel free to remove the speedy deletion tag and please consider putting a note on the template's page explaining how this one is different so as to avoid any future mistakes (<noinclude>{{substituted}}</noinclude>).

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page's talk page, where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. βα£α(ᶀᶅᶖᵵᵶ) 21:48, 14 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Tips for saving your article from the deletion[edit]

Hello I am user anoptimistix. While patrolling new pages I observe your articles which are mostly about Indian Rail service are tagged for WP:CSD.

I can understand you are very enthusiastic about railways and you love creating articles about it but while creating articles please keep Wikipedia's notability policies in mind. Please do not create blank page it will be quickly tagged for speedy deletion.

If you want to develop an article or test functions please create a sandbox copy paste this code {{My sandbox}} into your userpagr and start developing article there when it is completed simply copy-paste it in the article wizard.

You can also create a subpage (subpage is your own userspace where you can develop article and later move it to Article wizard after your article is finished developing) Just copy-paste below link and paste it in your address bar just replace "xyz" with any name which you want

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Feroze_Ahmad_2/xyz

  • Additionally you can also place the template {{construction}} when you are directly creating an article , on the top of your article . This will give message to the new page reviewers that your article is not completed yet, and they will wait for somehours before tagging it.

Please keep on editing ! Don't get disappointed or discouraged. Anoptimistix Let's Talk 17:53, 19 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your suggestions Anoptimistix Let's Talk but ive noticed that many Editors Are writing on same train with reversal directions and also they are writing on special trains which is temporary service and its not suitable for wikipedia which its make a problem for readers that's why iam tagging WP:CSD so that we can reduce the repeating article on trains and special trains also. You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Baria State Railway requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://wiki.fibis.org/w/Baria_State_Railway. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
