Hello,

Welcome to Wikipedia! I'm your campus ambassador Gabe and I enjoyed talking with you yesterday about Wikipedia. I've put a few notes and helpful links, particularly about how to find images here: Education Program talk:Boston College/History of the American West (2013 Q1). Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions about editing Wikipedia. I hope you enjoy this assignment and I look forward to seeing your contributions. Dear Matt,

Please excuse my being a day late, but hopefully you were able to make out my handwritten notes that I gave you on Tuesday. I think that this is in the most part a really well written and thoroughly researched piece. There are a few places in which you've assumed knowledge of certain events, but given that this for general consumption, not history students, I would recommend that you go through and add a little explanation of these things and a link to the wikipedia page for them if they exist. Otherwise, please see my original notes and let me know if there's anything you'd like clarification on or to discuss further. Of course, please also feel free to ignore some of them. 4/5, but really closer to 5 for this. It looks like you've almost got your end product already.

Kind regards, Jane

Thanks for your comments. I don't tend to reference drafts as they always get so mangled by the final edit. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be any scholarly literature on him at all, only brief newspaper articles and obituaries.

Help us improve the Wikipedia Education Program[edit]

Hi Farnumm! As a student editor on Wikipedia, you have a lot of valuable experience about what it's like to edit as a part of a classroom assignment. In order to help other students like you enjoy editing while contributing positively to Wikipedia, it's extremely helpful to hear from real student editors about their challenges, successes, and support needs. Please take a few minutes to answer these questions by clicking below. (Note that the responses are posted to a public wiki page.) Thanks!
