First Article: 1. Here is the article that I choose to edit: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jinggang_Mountains# I add two important factors that make Jinggang Mountains so famous in China — one is its resource, and the other is its history(it is the cradle of the Chinese revolution). They will help us understand why Jinggang Mountains are so different from other mountains. If we do not add these two factors, this mountain will be so ordinary that it will be forgot easily by people who read the wiki. 2. Thus I think this information are necessary to add on. 2. For this week, I contributed to Artificial intelligence in healthcare and added a quick summary from researcher Misti Yang, who writes that chatbot therapy might not be as effective as in-person, because the dynamic (human-human vs. human-screen) being fundamentally different. For this week, I contributed and added a citation for Ethics of artificial intelligence wherein I added a bullet point of governmental efforts to regulate (or deregulate) artificial intelligence. I added a memorandum that the Trump administration put in place to deregulate AI for the sake of American innovation. This section informed me of other efforts that I had not yet encountered when writing my literature review, so this article was helpful in pointing me to a few more pages and research to review. Nectaros, The first edit is fine, though I do not think the second one is a high enough quality as it is a Microsoft blog speaking about its own work, and as such is not a third party confirming something but instead confirming its own work. Week 11/ Reflective / Yhl7283

It is obviously that I learned a lot through the exercise during these several weeks. The Wikipedia dashboard is also a good platform that provide chance we can share ideas and make contribution in papers by editing. It is also the first time I learn to edit the website articles and practice to find useful citation to make contribution in articles. I think the exercises through Wikipedia dashboard is also a good experience for me to share ideas and learn to have a good research. The first time I tried to edit something on a Wikipedia article，I was less confident and afraid to make trouble. I tried to find more resource to support my contributions and really get more information through the process. After few weeks practice，I seems to be more confident to make contributions to Wikipedia articles and focus more on content and topic. I used to selected two related topic and during the exercise to make contributions on articles，I also have the research of two topics. There also have one of my contributions were reverted and I also learn about which kind of contributions can be a useful one. Beside the learning models on Wikipedia dashboard，I also have practice of finding useful information through research. This week I read two Wikipedia articles which are about bubble tea and Starbucks. I want to see the market expended and sales through COVID-19 for both. I found there didn't have any statistics showed the market size or sales for bubble tea through Wikipedia article so I added a description and a external website article as citation. For the article of Starbucks，I added the situation of Starbucks in 2020 to the sales and expansion paragraph in Wikipedia article. week11/reflective essay/amandaerfeng

I find this experience with Wikipedia is very interesting and helpful. Through the process, I learned about how information is gathered for each article. For me, the hardest part is to assign the proper articles to myself. Then I begin to find articles that are related to my other courses. Doing so help me to improve my academic knowledge for other courses. I will continue to edit on Wikipedia in the future, especially when I see an article that needs to be improved when doing research. One thing I learned about wiki is that everyone are welcomed to contribute and we should do so since many articles are not well established like I imagined. Week 11/ Reflective Essay// LaurenZhou0509

Finally it comes to the final part. This process of editing Wiki gives me several things to mention: At the beginning of the editing, I feels so confused and did not know how to start and what I should do as an editor. Wiki gives me an impression that only professional editors can make some change based on their professional knowledge. However, when I start to actually review the history of editing in article I am interested in, I found that the editors are just normal people as me, sharing the same interests and hope to improve what we like. After that, I realized that Wiki is an open platform: it provides help to every reader and readers are also play the role as editors that help Wiki becomes better. Furthermore, since I have been back to home and cannot connect to Wiki english version for several weeks. Therefore I tried to find out if I can do something for the "Chinese Wikipedia", Baidu Baike. It surprised me that I have the experience and confidence to work as an editor besides Wiki. It just like a info exchange process. Although this course ends here but just like I mentioned in the previous week's work, I will continue to finish my work on the Case Closed film series editing and continue to find what I can do for the articles I view in the future. I enjoy the work I am doing and hopefully can help more users of Wikipedia just like me. Overall, I feel so happy to become not only a user but also an editor to Wikipedia. Week 8/Add Citations to 2 Articles/Detong Che

The first article is Momoko Sakura, she was best known as the creator of the long-running manga Chibi Maruko-chan. From JapanTimes official website, Manga artist Momoko Sakura was also a champion of Japanese music. Week 11/ Reflective essay /Jooookerr

I have gained a lot from the extra assignments of Wikipedia. First of all, I learned that Wikipedia is a very open platform. Many of the information and resources in it come from various databases, websites, newspapers, and even journals. Being a member of Wikipedia in this class has the authority to modify the content of Wikipedia and communicate with other members, which makes me have an impressive experience. From the beginning, I received training step by step in Wiki Edu Dashboard, knowing how to modify simple sentences and symbols in Wikipedia, and then add content to the overall article and mark citation. I will modify and add to the relevant content of Wikipedia based on the content of the research reports used and collected this semester. After several weeks. The assignment need me to contribute twice a week, I expanded the scope and conducted more searches, articles, and academic journals. This process not only increased my own knowledge and reading volume but also helped more people to obtain more effective content when using Wikipedia. I will choose to continue to use this account to edit in Wikipedia. This is a very meaningful thing. Week 10 / Insert an Image / Nectaros

For this week, I added an image of a robot playing soccer in Robocup to Artificial intelligence in video games. I searched the image on CC Search, and located it there first. Then, I noticed it was already on Wikimedia Commons, so I added directly from Wikimedia Commons when editing the article. This was the first time I have added an image in Wikipedia or even searched CC Search. It is helpful to know of this resource for future assignments that might include use of media. Week 11 / Reflective Essay / Nectaros

Over the course, I learned to navigate the WikiEdu dashboard and completed several trainings on editing articles in Wikipedia. I learned that there are values that Wiki editors aspire to uphold and there are volunteers who aid in keeping Wikipedia research more credible and integrous. The reach of the class's efforts are quite impressive. To date, the class has edited 140 articles and those pages have had 5.89 million views. This class illuminated the scale of Wikipedia's readership and usage. Once I was able to get accustomed to the formatting (links and even signatures were unintuitive at first), I began to find it rather enjoyable to contribute to the research. Should I conduct more research in the future, I think I would be more likely to edit articles in Wikipedia more. I think that making research and knowledge more accessible and equitable is important so Wikipedia appeals to me.  Nectaros (talk) 02:17, 30 November 2020 (UTC)

I think it is interesting and it is also a Chinese style that in the ancient China, Emperor has huge power that he can control everything. So that when he choose to make alchemy in Huangshan, the name of this mountain also changes(Huangshan means mountain In yellow, and gold has the color of yellow.) 2. Week 11 / Reflective Essay / Haomimimi

To be honest, in order to complete this assignment, I racked my brains to explore the entries that need to be perfected, but in the process, I really have learned a lot in many fields, and I also discovered that some Wikipedia page is still not complete enough. Hope this powerful function can be known to more people, and they can all contribute to Wikipedia’s improvement. My biggest insight in this course is that everyone is part of the authority. Before, I always thought that Wikipedia was a defined authority. Every time I didn't understand something, I would search it on Wikipedia and believed all what it tells without a doubt. But this lesson taught me that everyone can edit Wikipedia. The human world itself is defined by humans, so why can’t we be part of the authority? Each of us has different social experiences in different fields of knowledge. We should maintain sufficient self-confidence in our profession and skills, and bravely point out the incorrect places on Wikipedia, and contribute to its progress and perfection. However, when we exercise our right to modify, we also have to bear corresponding responsibilities, and we should be responsible for every modification we make. This is also the reason why we have to indicate the source of quotation. Every modification must have sufficient basis. To be honest, since I am in China now, and this homework can only be done through the VPN provided by NYU, it has brought me a lot of trouble to complete this homework. My computer cannot be installed with the school's VPN, and it is much more troublesome to edit Wikipedia with the IPAD version than with a computer. I am not the only one who have encountered this problem, and I have already responded the situation to the school’s IT department and hope they can make improvements as soon as possible.

If one story can be remembered for so long, It has something important to both ancient people and current people. Thus we need to introduce the meaning of a story when we introduce it.

I think it is worth since the award for the story is very significant in China and we should always update the most current information of a story. Week 11 / Reflective Essay / RPM-User

I would say this was my favorite assignment from the course, as it has shown me how sharing knowledge is infectious. In other words, contributing to wikipedia motivates others to contribute as well. Either by finding more reliable sources to back the statements or leading them to learn more about the subject and make a contribution of their own.

Regarding the article evaluation, my article was given the grade of "C" which is more than fair. The most time consuming parts was finding high-quality sources for references. Most of the results were first-hand, and could not be verified. Even still, there are many claims I hope to find proper references for down the line to add to the article not only to improve the scoring but to share more information about the author.

Creating the article from scratch was easier than I expected, as I had the general idea of the content and being well into the course I also learned how to properly format for a reader, as well as learning when to cite information. Already since publishing the article has been edited by various other users, improving the quality of the article and marking it as ready to be made available for outside public searches.

The feedback was well received and expected, as even I felt there were some concerns on the quality of the sources and the tone of the article, since it has elements of pseudoscience claims. We removed the questionable sources and because of that I was able to re-fine my searches and find even more information on the subject, from multiple respected sources.

I learned about publishing, editing, drafting and formatting with edit source, and some copyright restrictions when looking for a picture. This assignment, and more importantly the life cycle of an article, was very valuable to me and I only wish I had been made aware of this in a prior class - Wikipedia can be used to ask questions and find the answers; with that it is critical we have reliable sources to be sure we have the full picture. — Preceding unsigned comment added by RPM-User (talk • contribs) 00:40, 2 December 2020 (UTC)

Don't let that fool you, because that means the article you wrote skipped over Stub-class and Start-class.
